This review is just of the recently added«strawberry shortcake with whip cream.» No strawberries, no shortcake, no cream! Just a sweet reddish syrup, some white plastic whipped stuff, and pound cake – YUCK!

I’ve been there last month with my friends. Every foods were very delicious and tasty. I was satisfied with the kinds of vegetable. I would like to eat more variation of food, but I enjoyed making great ice-cream. The more clean there are dishes, the more I like this restaurant. This location is close to my house, so it is very convenient. Definitely coming back.

Food was good even though quality was not. Service was poor but healthier food than going to a normal restaurant. The reason for a 2 star was because one of your employees didn’t want to help me in getting an item for my meal, that’s poor service, find another job if you don’t like working here.

Absolutely disgusting, I am so disgusted. All the silverware was dirty, gritty, greasy. The plates were dirty, had grit all over it. How can you think of eating clean with that. What grossed me out the most was a horrible experience at the muffin counter. A man grabbed 4 double chocolate muffins with his hands, then realized that they were not blueberry muffins, so he put them back in to the basket so others can grab them, and grabbed his blueberry muffins. The worker behind the counter was watching and turned his back. This is how people get sick, there’s no telling where this man’s hands have been. The staff should have really done something about this, or in all the restaurant really needs to find a way to make this place cleaner and more desirable to eat. Freaking sick. I won’t be coming back here, nor my wife or anyone I tell this story too.

Average Souplantation restaurant with below average cashiers. Showed the cashier that I am redeeming the 15% discount for checking in to Unilocal, and even clicked the redeem button right in front of her. The offer disappears as it normally does when you redeem it and after it disappears she tells me ‘I need to see your phone before I can give you the discount’. I can’t bring it up again bc I’ve already redeemed it. Not sure why she needed to see my phone when she saw me redeem the offer and there wasn’t a barcode for her to scan.

All you can eat salad and soup??? :) They also have sides like pizza, mac & cheese, brownies, or bread sticks. Most of the time, the only meat they offered are small pieces of chicken in their Asian salad, bacon pieces next to the soup station, or the chicken breast in the chicken noddle soup! However, they have different specials every month! This month’s special is their chicken fajitas! Packed with meat with seasonings, bell pepper, lettuce, and onions. I want highly convince you all to check the plates and bowls before you use it because I have encountered a lot of times that there were still food on the plates or bowls. Enjoy!

This buffet style restaurant is awesome! I love making my own salad the way I like it. They have a variety of different foods and are always changing or adding new recipes. It can get really crowded so that is a set back when you have to wait in line for a while to get your food. It’s definitely a good place to go eat healthy food once in a while.

Souplantation is great for large parties. I came here for dinner last night with 10 – 12 friends. Pro-tip: Always check online for coupons, we were able to get a 2 for $ 24 deal which included the full buffet and a drink! If you didn’t already know, Souplantation is a buffet style salad, pasta, hot food, and dessert bar. They have many different types of food and the best part is that it is all you can eat! I love coming here after a long day and stuffing myself with their pasta and soup. My favorite is definitely their chicken noodle soup, super flavorful broth and tender chicken. You don’t really get to interact with the waiters but I feel that they were nice on most part. They were very quick to come grab our dishes when we were done eating and went for more rounds. There’s plenty of parking at this location. It’s huge and typically should not have a long wait. If you haven’t been to Souplantation before I definitely recommend it!

Amazing location! Great food and hardworking manager! My girlfriend and I came specifically for the broccoli and potato chowder, but when we were getting soup they didn’t have it out and they claimed that they didn’t have it at all. We then talked to the manager, Eric, and he made a batch right away. Not only that, but he served the soup and brought it to our table and apologized. This location is very welcoming with friendly employees. Definitely coming back.

I love to go to souplantion. This location has a great layout in my opinion. The staff is always so attentive and nice. Every time I come here there are some rude annoying customers EVERY time! But the staff has always handled them with grace and patience, I appreciate that Always have everything freshly made, if they run out they have more within minutes

I love this place! I love their salads because I can put whatever I want on it. The various types of foods fill me right up and I’m always satisfied after coming here. This has always been my favorite place to go after a soccer game or soccer tournament growing up. It’s the perfect place to go with large groups! I wish they would stay open later than they do, but I’m okay with that. Other than that, the employees are pretty great, and I love everything about the food here!

As far as the salad bar. It was great. The soup was fine. Muffins great. Kids liked the deserts. But this was the worst bathroom experience for me at a chain restaurant. One stall only and someone crapped next to or threw toilet paper with feces next to the toilet. I recommend that good old bathroom chart and initial of who and when they went in. Dis gusted by this I could not finish my meal.

I go here at least once a week! I love love love Souplantation; as club veg you get coupons so delicious all you can eat food for a great price! This particular Souplantation is located off the Clairemont Mesa Blvd Exit off the 805 freeway so its super convenient to get to. Parking is also never a challenge, so this is another plus! The salad, soups, and different carb options here are delish! Some notable things: –Wonton Happiness Salad(a must everytime I go)-sometimes they put WAY too much dressing but that can easily be fixed by adding more plain lettuce to your salad –Caesar Salad: Sounds generic, but their caesar dressing is seriously like no other! –Chicken Noodle Soup: THEBESTCHICKENNOODLESOUPAROUND! I love the big chunks of deliciously tender chicken, fresh/home-made tasting pasta noodles immersed in that flavorful broth; I usually get atleast 2 – 3 cups of the soup whenever I go here. –Sourdough bread with Honey Whip: Their honey whip alone would convince me to go here, its like a sweet, creamy butter like spread with a light hint of honey which makes anything dipped inside of it just heavenly. –Blueberry Muffins: As if it didn’t get any better, their blueberry muffins are the BEST of any other place I have tried with blueberry muffins. Theyre always so deliciously crunchy on the outside and moist and soft on the inside with REAL chunks of blueberries in every bite. –Strawberry Lemonade: If you feel like splurging and paying for a drink, definitely give this a try! Its always really fresh and has real chunks of strawberries inside!

I love souplantation! I wish there was more meat, but for the price it’s great. I’m subscribed to them via email so I get the best deals. My favorites are the Asian salad, tuna terragon, clam chowder, and blueberry muffins! The strawberry lemonade is also super good. If I want dessert, I just put vanilla soft serve in a cup and get some root beer for a nice root beer float! Those make up the majority of my meal and I’m always leaving satisfied :)(& in a food coma)

I used to come here so often during my undergraduate years at UCSD. So worth your bang and buck here but the prices keep getting more and more expensive! I remember the days when it used to be $ 8.49 per person for dinner. I guess those day are long gone. Nevertheless, unlimited soup and salad is hard to beat and their chicken noodle soup is a gamechanger! They always have rotating soups each month but their base soups(chicken noodle, chili, and clam chowder) are always there. They also have an ice cream machine, a pastry section, bread section, and pasta/baked potato/sweet potato section. I HIGHLY recommend googling coupons online(they don’t mail them out anymore) and using them. The price different between the coupon and just paying upfront is only 20 cents and it gets you a drink cup but if you like root beer floats, I thought it was pretty worth it!

Best place to take a family of 4 for the price. If you subscribe to their email program you get weekly coupons. $ 24.99 for two adults and two children. And that comes with a drink and all you can eat. Can’t beat that!!! The chicken noodle soup is delicious! And you’ll keep going back for seconds… thirds…maybe even fourths. Lol. Large selection of salads, dressings, and toppings.

This location honestly seems like the best one around in terms of remodel. Yes, I know that they’re constantly fine-tuning their menu constantly depending on the season and what’s in demand. But the regular options are pretty good. Since this place is centralized in the county, it’s probably the busiest one I know. If you go during prime time(6−8pm), be ready to stay in line for a while as big groups will be ahead of you. And then there’s more lag from shuffling from the unready at the register.(Gotta use those coupons, right?) Then, soon after 8, there’s no line. Instructions once you walk in: 1) Grab tray 2) Grab plate(s) 3) Fill plates with selections of premade or make-your-own salads 4) Find coupons before reaching register 5) Get beverage(teabags are only available at the register) 6) Pay after coupon is used 7) Get seated 8) Grab other food/soup/beverage 9) Eat and drink, grabbing more as wanted/needed Oh yeah, in case you didn’t already know, they started offering bottles of craft beer as well as wine. Very interesting move by Souplantation. I personally have never went with the alcohol addition to my meal since it tends to fill me up and get in the way of how much food I can eat. Tips: — Always use a coupon. They send them out all the time. You’d be stupid not to use them. — You’re allowed to go back to the salad area for more salad. — If you want hot tea, the tea bags are offered by the register. Eating strategies for the most out of your money: — Don’t fill up on carbs. — Minimize intake on those cookies they always bring to you at your table. SOFT-SERVESTRATEGIES: I like to put a layer of toppings in the bowl before I start swirling around the soft-serve in circular motion so that I end up creating a hollow cone tower. Then I throw more toppings on the side of that tower so that they stick to it. If you depend on meat in your meal, you won’t like this place. I’ve had past roommates who simply do not understand the appeal of this place. Of course, they’re not healthy people, so to hell with ‘em. Join ClubVeg for the cheapest coupons. The ones that come in my junk mail are good too, just not as good as the emailed ones.

This is a great location! Everything looks clean and fresh and they’re always replenishing the salads, soups, breads and pastas. People with different diet/lifestyles and food preferences can come here together and be satisfied with the spread. There’s a great array of salads, they change them seasonally, the soups are always on point and hearty. My weakness here are the muffins, cornbread and clam chowder. They have a very solid dessert station with soft serve machine, fresh fruit and my favorite childhood dessert: tapioca pudding. With their online coupons, their lunches or dinners easily beat out Sizzler for variety AND price!

Let me say first that I LOVESOUPLANTATION! I’m a Club Veg member and I’m always on board to a trip here. My go-tos are the Mac and Cheese with Tabasco, the baked sweet potatoes, the gluten-free superfood chia muffin, the cornbread, and OMG their fresh — keyword FRESH — blueberry muffins! Drool! That being so, it pains me to write this three-star review for the Clairemont location. I’ve received amazing service by the individuals who walk around, and I loved the fact that the people serving breakfast brought my individually made omelette to my table. However, my visit this past Monday was less than savory because I kept coming across dirty dishes! My Dad came across the first dirty dish in the front while we were grabbing trays, the next was a dirty mug that the cashier refused to give to us, and the last was when I grabbed the small plates so I could grab those Blueberry muffins and found some pasta stuck to it. I’ve been to this location several times and I’ve never had an issue with the dishes before but if someone’s slacking, they need to get back on it in this location. Not cute seeing three dirty dishes in less than an hour.

Q: Why did the tomato blush? A: Because he saw the salad dressing. Carbo overload. Still here in the restaurant, debating if I should get dessert. But I shan’t indulge into the sweets section nor another bowl of the clam chowder. Can’t move from my spot. Buffets tend to do this to me, haven’t been to a buffet in a year. Believe it or not, this is número uno visit for me and I didn’t know it was a buffet. Still a pleasant surprise. There were step by step instructions right after you walk through the entrance for the noobs(raises hand). Salad line is first stop. I didn’t know there would be condiments in the end, so I picked the Ceasars salad with the dressing already in with the croutons. Veggies and garnishes are fresh and crunchy, which is a great thing. Next you pay and proceed to the soups, potatoes, and bread. Reviewers here rave about the chicken noodle soup and clam chowder. I picked the chowder and chili(great choices!) Not salty but flavorful. But the soups are so filling, that my appetite has only allowed me a salad plate and 2 soups. But then I saw the mac n dulgence, which is creamy and carbolicious. Now I went over the top. Harboring a food baby, I must depart and say that I shall return, just like the late General MacArthur. Maybe I can sneak some blueberry muffins using napkins and put them in my pocket just like my late Filipino grandma used to do… Haha I kid. Thanks souplantation for the soup to my soul.
