A little pricey for what they give you but I have to say that the food is good, greasy but good. That’s how I like my food, but if you’re looking for a healthy alternative, I suggest you go elsewhere for food. If the portions were bigger, I wouldn’t mind the price at all, but I’ve gotten so much more for the same price. Great location and the service is good. This place has true potential, they just need to work out the logistics.

Overpriced. Simple as that. The food was average at best, but it definitely costs too much. I went once over a year ago and haven’t gone back since, so, how clearly can I describe the food? Not very, so I’m not doing it. I just remember average food; more than it’s worth. If you want fried seafood in the area, go to Mr. Fish and Chips; costs less and tastes better.

Been twice, had fish and chips twice, left satisfied twice. Anthony’s Sea Grill offers a limited menu at a truly reasonable price and the food is not some cheap junk you might find at LJS’s. They have an EXTENSIVE condiment bar which includes some unique tartar sauce(chunky and runny at the same time). The seasoned fries are also not run of the mill. Most seasoned fries are seasoned before frying… these were definitely tossed in seasoning afterwards and it was not Lowry’s. They had a smokey blackened flavor and there was a pile of the stuff left on the plate once the fries were gone. There are two options for the breading on the fish… original or crispy, and I chose crispy. Three decent size fingers of fish arrived hot, and crispy. The fish was really fresh tasting, no ammonia at all. The place was pretty dead at 7PM(except for the IDIOT wasting time in front of us in line… seriously this one was worse than Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally). The food came out almost immediately and very hot. Not bad for fast food fish and chips.

I went to this Anthony’s location today. I had the squid taco and crab and macoroni salad. The taco meal comes with your choice of cole slaw, crab & macoroni salad, french fries, and white rice. So you get many choices for your money. I also had a cup of red clam chowder. The squid taco meal was $ 4.50 and the cup of chowder was $ 2 something. Very reasonable prices. I love squid and I have never had a squid taco. It was pretty good. It had two types of cheese, cabbage, and it came with a small bit of guacamole on the side and some salsa with onions. I usually get the white clam chowder, but decided to go with the red this time to see if it was any good. It was pretty tasty with some bits of clam and potatoes with skin. I have enjoyed going to Anthony’s Fish Grotto since I was a kid. I am happy to see they are diversifying and hopefully will survive and grow further.

Finally, Anthony’s has found its niche. Mediocre food at an appropriate price = good match. I didn’t go there with high expectations, since I’d had a pretty bad experience with the last Anthony’s place I’d visited. The only reason I went was because it was a group of coworkers and I was outvoted. Not a very busy place, which was quite surprising for a sunny Friday at lunchtime. They serve a variety of fried seafood dishes, as well as some grilled items. You place your order at a counter, they give you a number to place on your table, and bring the food out to you. They also have a surprisingly large selection of dipping sauces and salad dressings at the«dressings bar,» so you can pick one, two, or a half dozen to try. I had the fish & shrimp combo plate, which came with fries, and it was 6 shrimp and one piece of fish. A little pricey, but not bad for lunch. Others in my group pretty much agreed with that general description for their dishes as well. If you’re in the area and have a hankering for seafood, but don’t have the time or money for a full seafood dinner, it’s a nice option. But I wouldn’t go a long distance out of my way for it either.

Fast food fish and chips that’s a sister restaurant of the Anthony’s chain. I find it better than the Seafood bar they have on the pier. Fish comes in regular batter or panko, I prefer the panko version, its lighter and not as dense. Check your mailers, they often send coupons for the place, especially if you live in LJ, UTC or Clairemont. Fish is fresh and they have some desserts there like the chocolate dipped cheesecake.

Fast food fish stuffs like fish and chips, fish sandwiches, fried shrimp, salads. I think this place is tasty, better than Long John Silver.
