I called Senior Helpers to come assess my father’s needs for home care while visiting him several months ago. Heidi came to the appointment and immediately put me at ease about getting someone who could relate to my father, a retired veteran, to care for his increasing need for help. Heidi was so helpful in many instances as my father went in and out of the hospital. She was able to cut through several issues we had as my dad’s needs expanded. My father looked forward to seeing Heidi or the caregiver that she provided for him, Jeff. Both of them genuinely cared for my father – he never complained about anything they said or did, which was not true of previous part time caregivers he had. Heidi was also good at working with hospital staff when my dad was being discharged, and is what I would call a «can-​do» type of person. I would recommend her business for anyone concerned about having quality, insured care for an elderly family member.

A couple of months ago, I found myself in a difficult position. My mom had eye surgery for a detached retina and was going to be incapacitated for the next few months. She was also dealing with a whole slew of other medical problems at the same time. I needed to find someone who could I could trust to come in to her house and help her with everything ranging from basic health care to running errands, cooking, shuttling her to doctor appointments, housework, etc. In fact, I didn’t even know what her exact needs were because she was in San Diego and I was in Los Angeles. I made arrangements to go down to her house and interview several companies — all of which seemed great to be honest with you — but there was NO QUESTION that Senior Helpers of San Diego/​East County was the best fit for our family.
We felt an immediate connection with them — and months later, we are still going strong. They have been a God-​sent!!! Heidi is the best. She is kind, compassionate, helpful, organized, communicative, and available at all times. Her sister, Heather, is also an incredible reflection of her as well. So are her employees. They are there at a moment’s notice — especially since my moms needs and days/​hours have fluctuated a bit. I cannot tell you the peace of mind this has brought me — especially managing it from a long distance.
I would highly recommend this company for all of your needs. You will find such warmth and sincerity in all that they do. I have never had the impression this was «just a business» for them. This is their passion — their life’s calling… and it shows. Thank you Heidi, Heather, Emily, and Tracie. I am so grateful for the care you have taken of my mom. You will always have a special place in my heart!

My family has had the pleasure of working with senior helpers for a few months now. I cannot express how wonderful everyone has been. They have taken the stress off of me as the adult daughter and has allowed for my mother to be cared for. My mom has shown a vast improvement in her health and is smiling again. When my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s I felt so lost and helpless! I found such great support and genuine concern from Heidi and Lane. They helped me understand the disease in non-​doctor language and told me what I could do to help my mother live a less frustrating life. I was so worried that I would be incapable of juggling a job, children still in the house and now my aging mother (especially with her living almost 35minutes away). Senior Helpers of Poway was very professional and courteous. They went out of their way to comfort my mom who was in need of in-​home care. She was a bit cautious of having someone new come into her home but as soon as she meet Heidi and Leonard she immediately felt their love and compassion and most importantly the confidence they had in their caregivers and business.
