So so so yummy, more expensive than you would think but totally worth it. Fresh crisp fruit, not overly done. This saved me from angry hunger and totally changed my mood fit the better. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The ACAI bowls here are off the wall… They have the perfect combinations, pitaya bowls, green bowls, organic delicious granola toppings… Their acai bowls are always thick and sooo smooth… and soooo good. They use super fresh delicious raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries as toppings which most of the other cafes use frozen melted fruit, or don’t have those combinations and you can tell the difference immediately.

Delicious, healthy, refreshing bowls! Also love their to-go cup-with-a-spoon option. Bob was kind enough to explain many of their options and the ingredients that went into each for me. Another worker said they had been here for 8 years with another location in South Park. There is a small outdoor seating area as well as a drive-through. My only disappointment was that they were cash only; I had stumbled upon this place and found out when I went to pay. My favorite part was their really tasty granola and fruit!

This is my favorite acai bowl in San Diego. Made with fresh, organic Sambazon acai and not powders like most other places. The fruit they put on top is also super fresh and the granola is so tasty! I like the variety of bowls as well as the different sizing. And all very affordable considering the fresh ingredients! I like to come here before/after a stroll on Dog Beach. I even like their little seating area — you feel like you’re in a Hawaiian food truck stand with all the plants and the music playing. The staff is super friendly and they whip up delicious coffee drinks in a fascinatingly short amount of time. Try getting that same level of quality and affordability at Starbucks! Definitely a great stop whenever you’re in OB. I love that they are also open late, in case you need a little java jolt on your way home from work.

The best acai bowl I’ve had so far! I can’t remember what mine was called(there is an extensive list) but it was a basic one with bananas, berries, coconut and hemp granola. It was sooo good! I recommend taking it to go and sitting by the water over Sunset Cliffs on a sunny morning– you’ll feel instantly grateful that you live in SD(or at least visiting). Not to say you couldn’t eat it at the café itself– they have outdoor seating and have made it a cute place for customers. But it is basically in a parking lot with a line of cars on the other side going thru the drive-thru. And while waiting for our bowls in the patio, in true OB fashion, there was an unsavory character hanging out on the street talking loudly to himself… but he proved harmless :) We will definitely be coming back to Pirates Cove Tiki Port!

Love this x10. I miss drive-thru coffee joints in CA. Broadest selection of milks and and alternative milks in the OB. Personable staff and much more than coffee like acai bowls and other breakfast goodies.

They have the best acai bowls in town! Pretty good coffee, too. A tad pricey and cash only, so 4 stars for me! Other than that, love it here.

This place is swarmed with flies on everything. The girl that exchanged cash, prepped my coffee & fruit bowl never washed hands once. I watched nervously as a strand of her long hair came close 2 my bowl twice.

My husband and I love this place! Every time we’re in town it’s a must that we go here for breakfast. The Drifter bowl is probably our favorite Acai bowl.

I love this little coffee shop! Great coffees for a great price and very friendly service. I would deduct a star for CASHONLY, but I always get great vibes from this place. It’s my OB coffee staple :) I’d recommend ordering at the window rather than driving up. Also, the mocha cold brew. I’m not a huge mocha fan but this is SOGOOD.

If you’re into acaii bowls, you gotta go here! There are so many choices, I had a hard time picking one. They are a good size bowl, made fresh as you wait. Have a seat, enjoy your delicious meal and watch the people go by. That’s always fun in OB.

Delicious!!! First time trying and Acai Bowl and now I’m obsessed! I got the Drifter without chocolate sauce. Wow! So delicious, filling, and sweet. Came back the next day for breakfast. I love this place! Also, walking distance from our rental bungalow.

I’ve tried Açai bowls at three different places in OB and I can’t recommend this place highly enough. They make everything blissfully fresh right in front of you. I’m weird about my food and I was pleased to see they use gloves when touching the fruit etc. I had the«420 Açai bowl» it was excellent. I didn’t ask but the granola was excellent. I think other reviewers said it was hemp granola? End of story: come try this place!

If you are visiting San Diego(as I am), grabbing an acai bowl is a must. They are everywhere here because they are fricking delicious. This place was recommended to my by a local and did not disappoint. I got the 420 bowl, no honey because it’s already so sweet, and walked that bad boy a few blocks to enjoy it on the beach. Got a little melty by that point but so worth it. Minus a star for charging tiered pricing on hot tea. That’s just charging for a smidge more hot water brah.

I’ve only ever had the coffee. It hasn’t been amazing and it hasn’t been otherwise. The staff is friendly. They have pastries, smoothies and acai bowls w/varying toppings. So if you’re looking for coffee, come here, you won’t be amazed or disappointed, I think that’s good. And don’t forget to bring cash.

Great coffee, really cool place to kick back with some java. Friendly staff, outdoor seating, and a great coffee selection. Make sure you bring cash, for those who forget the ATM is on the porch.

Widest selection of Acai and Pitaya bowls/smoothies around! My favorite is the Hawaiian, extra-large bowl of Acai, topped with blueberries, strawberries, banana, coconut, and granola. I prefer their gluten-free granola! This location even has a drive-thru, if you’re on the go. The coffee drinks have great flavor as well!

This is my favorite place to get a bonsai bowl in San Diego. It is a little shack in a parking lot but it is great! It has a drive thru which makes life super easy when you want to take your bowl to the beach. I love that these bowls come in a wide shallow bowl as opposed to the standard bucket the rest of the places serve it in. I’ve been here many times and was delighted with each trip. Be careful sometimes there is a line and it may take a while.

August 2, 2014 Saturday — breakfast 8:15AM 2 adults Atmosphere –5 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — I love tiki so I had to try this place. Atmosphere — Sitting outside on their little patio. Sitting watching the intersection, people watching at the max. Lots of cool looking dogs, the pigeons drinking water from the dog bowls, and a sixty plus year old riding a unicycle. That wheel was larger than a standard bike wheel. I so wish I got a pic. Food Drink — Mexican Mocha, oh my, this was so unique and cannot describe it. But I want another after writing this review! Main — I went with a 420 bowl. Yeah you pot heads that is right, 420. Okay it is just hemp. Could I tell there was hemp in there, nope. So the bowl is a thick layer of a smoothie, then a layer of granola. Finished off with fresh fruit. The smoothie was acai berries which was a nice treat. Service — She was great she. She helpful I wanted the Hawaiian it was a little more expensive and did not know why. It was basically twice the since of the other bowls. I was stuffed after eating the standard bowl. So that was very helpful. Future — YEAH for the coffee and the bowl.

BESTACAIBOWL. EVERRRRRRR I’m a regular of OB, and EVERYTIME I’m in the area, I make it a point to stop at this little gem. It’s a drive thru spot, but there are a few tables available for outdoor seating. Parking is hard to find, especially on the weekends, but it’s definitely worth the hassle. I haven’t tried any of the other acai bowls, except for the The Hula Bowl. I love this one because it doesn’t have any bananas in it. I hate bananas. The hula bowl has acai, then layered with granola, and topped with rasberries, mangoes, pineapple, honest and coconut. So so yummy. They also have a Drifter Bowl, which has acai, granola, topped with rasberries, coconut and dark chocolate. I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks amazing. They also have smoothies, coffee, pastries, and other yummy snacks. This is such an awesome place, I won’t go anywhere else for an acai bowl.
