The first couple times I ever visited Pieology I was really disappointed. At the time they only offered 3 types of starter pizzas. The marinara, herb w/olive oil and I think Pesto was the third one. Right off the bat I remember thinking«why dont they offer alfredo or bbq sauce?» The real disappointment for me though was the fact that they did not have ranch?! After that, I cringed at anyones suggestion at visiting Pieology… HOWEVER! A friend of mine wanted to eat here for lunch. I was going to eat next door(The Habit) but when she told me they had alfredo as a sauce option I was interested to see what else was new. I am very pleased with the results! I loved my pizza, it was cooked beautifully AND I had ranch with it! I am now a fan. The only thing I think they could improve on is offering sizes for their pizza. At least a smaller size. The personal size they offer is pretty large for one person. Its definitely doable but really, thats too much pizza.

You haven’t lived till you come here! Pizza is amazing and it’s not overpriced! It’s like the subway of pizza!

This place is really good. I was able to create my own pizza. I love personalizing my order. The quality of the pizza is good and the prices are very affordable.

I wanted to try this place after reading the news of unlimited toppings and make custom pizza. So today I went for the 11 inch pizza and made it with: — Whole wheat crust with garlic herb butter — Red marinara sauce — Gorgonzola, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses — Spinach, tomato, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, banana and roasted peppers, sundried tomato — meatball, pepperoni, canadian bacon, sausage Pizza came out piping hot and fresh and delicious! Staff was super laid back and friendly service. Now the only reason why I didn’t give Pieology 5 stars is that while I like thin crust, in my opinion I wish they make the crust a little thicker. It was super thin! Other than that very tasty and for under $ 9 not a bad deal for a filling yummy lunch!

This visit had me laughing about how terrible the customer service was. The line was long and the workers were moving as slowly as possible. Also no smiles, no greetings, nothing from the staff! I needed to pizzas, one classic margarita and one build your own. The dough for the margarita pizza was all missed shape with chunks taken out of the sides so it was no where near circular shape. Also, they were out of basil(needed ingredient for a margarita pizza) and they asked if I’d like cilantro instead? Basil and cilantro taste nothing alike! What were they thinking? When I was paying I asked for 1 side of marinara and 2 sides of ranch. They also didn’t ask if I wanted my order for here or to go. So after a 15 minute wait waiting for the pizza to cook, they had my pizzas for here, had to ask for them to go. And then I asked for my sides and that took another 5 minutes! They were out of ranch, out of the Togo containers for it & lids. The guy getting my sides was literally moving as slow as a snail. No sense of urgency whatsoever. It was hard to watch. All in all, I don’t recommend this location unless you want a long wait & missing product. I recommend Project Pie in Hillcrest, customer service is super fast and friendly and they have never been out of any product!

It was good except a huge error! I don’t know how but we are tasting hints of bleach in the bites… I hope management sees this to advise how that’s possible. We ordered at 11:30 today so maybe because beginning of the day? Really gross tho.

I rarely crave pizza, but it’s been on my mind lately, so I decided to try out Pieology since Unilocal said they were dog friendly and my best little buddy and I had just gone on a little treat and toy shopping spree at Petco. First of all, the girl working behind the counter was so welcoming and friendly, very helpful, and accommodating! I can’t remember her name because it was unusual, wish I could give her a proper shoutout. :) I loaded up my pizza with at least half of the ingredients available. When my pizza came out a few minutes later I was seriously impressed by how good it looked and smelled! I loved that the crust was crispy and THIN so I could eat half of my pizza without feeling like a hef. I wanted to eat it all but I dutifully took half home for another day like the good girl I am. Pretty sure this is my new go-to joint on the rare occasions that I would kill for pizza. Everything you could possibly want on your pie, all for the unbelievable price of like $ 8! Say what?!

I know this isn’t a new concept but it just seems so cool now… Build your own pizza for about $ 8 for a generous personal pizza. Those corporate pizza place(dominos, little Caesars, Pizza Hut…) should kind of be scared or step up their game! Here you get unlimited toppings for just $ 8! Build your own pizza can’t really go wrong unless they severely eff up like miss 6 ingredients or if everything is old and been sitting out there for ever… Other than that you can’t really have a bad pizza unless you eff it up yourself. There’s no other way to mess up a pizza you build. They have a good amount of meats and veggies. One thing I wish they had was prosciutto… No custom build pizza has that except Project Pie(from the last I remembered). Other than that, another cool custom made pizza joint!

Good, cheap, fast and fun. I can’t believe I’ve never been here. It’s pretty cool because you get to order a pizza just as you would a Chipotle burrito. The best part is you get all of the toppings you want for about $ 8. I think it’s an 11.5″ pizza too. So not bad! It defines the idea of a personal pizza.

Pieology is one of those pizza places where you can make your dream pizza become a reality. The pizza is hand crafted and cooked in a stone oven. This place is a good size with plenty of indoor seating. Staff was friendly, helpful, and patient. You can choose from one of the several pre-determined pizza creations or make it all your own. Once you get to the counter, you first choose the type of crust you’d like(house made, whole wheat, or gluten free). Next, you’ll choose which oil, butter, and/or sauce you want slathered onto the crust. You’ll continue walking along the counter picking and choosing whatever cheeses, meats, and toppings you’d like to add on top. The sky is the limit… Toppings are unlimited! We made our own creation and it was pretty good. One pizza was good enough for two of us. But I’m sure most people could eat the entire thing themselves. We’ll probably be back to see what other yummy pizza we can come up with.

I wish«Pieology» was a subject they taught in school. How great would that be? I would totally ace the final. Pieology is like the Chipotle of pizzas… and if you know me, you know my feelings on Chipotle so that’s saying a lot. This location can get preeeetty busy, so I recommend figuring out what to put on your pizza before getting up to the counter. Sometimes if you take a while, the staff member(depending on who it is) will give you an impatient look. Once you’re up, you get to pick the type of crust you want, the sauce, the type(s) of cheese, the types of veggies, and meat. It’s a great concept and the pizza size is perfect for one person. #givemeallthepizza

We are visiting family in San Diego and we have a few stops we have to make every time. Luigi’s at the Beach is one of them. But after trying for 40 minutes to find parking, we gave up and turned to Unilocal to find something to eat. Honestly, we would have eaten anything at this point! But my boyfriend stumbled upon Piology so we decided to give it a shot. When you walk in, the place will remind you of Chipotle. Neutral colors, not much décor except for the quotes on the wall. They have a menu of about 6 or 7 pies or you can build your own. It’s an 11.5″ thin crust pie on white, wheat or gluten free. You can add as many toppings as you want. They have white sauce, red sauce, olive oil, herb butter, buffalo sauce… basically if you’ve ever wanted to try something different on a pizza, this is the place. After you build your pizza for $ 7.95, it’ll take about 5 – 8 minutes to come out. Our pizzas were tasty and we had plenty left over for dinner. The only thing keeping this from five stars is that the crust is really chewy and the chairs were driving me crazy. There was a table of kids and they were scraping them across the floor and it was like nails on a chalkboard. On a side note, it looks like they are going to have alcohol at this location in the future but not yet.

A friend of mine suggested this spot after some light shopping, he said«its like Chipotle for pizza», that is the perfect description of this place! I loved that the toppings were unlimited and plentiful. The serving bar was clean and the toppings looked fresh and appealing; the staff working were friendly and the place was clean. Why 4?(Honestly I wanted to give 3 but I know I am a pizza snob — from NY…) the pizza is uneventful, the crust is simply crust and the sauce is simply sauce. I can’t say I would have a need to go again. But it would be good place to take many people so everyone could have what they wanted.

Great pizza and price. The crust is thin and crunchy, not soggy. I love that you can put unlimited toppings. Great customer service, everyone was very cheery and pleasant to order from. The restaurant was very clean and they have tons of quotes on the wall that I could have stood there for hours reading all of them.

This is the second time I been to this place. Very tasty and fast. I like the set up on the making of the pizza. I love all the options and you can put as many items as you want. Also love the quotes on the walls. They are very interesting. The service is excellent and they keep the place pretty clean.

I’ve been to this Pieology a few times. Just about every time there seems to be a minor annoyance. Today it was a staff who wanted to socialize with each other to the detriment of the pizza. I ordered a Mad to Meat you pizza. When it came to the table, most of the meat had congregated on one side of my pizza leaving me with a partial cheese pizza. How do you as an employee send out a pizza that looks like that? When I looked at the slices, the size of the slices were no where near the same. I had a couple of really wide slices and some tiny ones. Where’s the quality control? The taste of the food is good. I probably wouldn’t go back to this location if it wasn’t close to my son’s class.

Good ingredients… been twice now and it’s just ok. Most for two reasons, sloppy presentation, overpowering ingredients, and too thin crust. Overall it’s pretty good, I can finish a pizza on a really hungry day after sports but it’s VERY messy– probably because I get the herb butter and it’s slathered EVERYWHERE. The chicken and veggies taste fresh but I think my fave so far is the sausage which seems fresh ground and the pesto, but how can you mess up pesto? :) My biggest suggestion is to differentiate yourselves from Project Pie which so far to me seems identical, except they have a better variety of pre-selected toppings.

pieology is the chipotle of pizza. the concept is about the same. you can walk in, order your pizza with unlimited toppings for $ 7.95, and walk out, with delicious hot pizza in hand in just about 5 minutes. the first thing you do is select your crust. they have great house-made crust, as well as a wheat and gluten free(add $ 2) option. next, the toppings! you select your sauce — red sauce, olive oil, alfredo, herb butter, buffalo, pesto and bbq! they have an assortment of cheeses; i always get ricotta beacuse it makes my pizza so creamy and delicious. if you’re vegan, they even have dayia cheese! there are several meat options like chicken, bacon, pepperoni and ham. as far as veggies go, there’s a big selection, too! then, your pie will be placed in their oven for several minutes to cook. remember that the more toppings you get, the longer it will take your pizza to cook. also, it might come out soggier in the middle from not being able to cook through. you can take your pie to go, or eat in their restaurant. when you’ve finished some of your pizza and want to take the rest home, they have half-sized boxes for you to take. the staff is very friendly and made sure everyone was happy and that the place was always kept clean. i wish we had a pieology where i live, because i’d be there all the time!

The $ 7.95 price is not bad for making your own personal pizza. I honestly could have shared one with my son and we both would have been full. Oh well leftovers! The pizza came out tasting great. However, it was a bit soggy. At first I thought it was because of all the veggies I put on there. So I tasted my husbands and sons meaty no veggie pizza and it was soggy as well. The place is clean. Clean restrooms but I wasn’t crazy for the soggy pizza. Something so wrong about that. My husband comes here often and says its always like that.
