Apparently this place has been a hot spot for forever but I just got my first taste over the weekend. Loved it. I didn’t get food. We mostly but the bar and then a reserved room for karaōke. Ace was my bartender and he couldn’t be nicer. Order his Long Island ice teas. They’re so strong and very drinkable. He also spent time explaining the different soju drinks to us. I’m not a big karaōke fan but if you are this is the place to be. Make sure to make a reservation. If you just show up on a Friday or Saturday be prepared to wait for a while. I need to come back to get some late night food. The kitchen closes at 2:30am! Awesome! In fact they stop serving alcohol before they stop serving food(because of legal reasons). The food looked fab. Many people has full tables and left with leftovers.

Their happy hour is pretty great! Parking wasn’t hard to find like other times I’ve been around the area. Ordered the wings and fries, pretty good even though I thought the food was a little overpriced. Ordered shots but kind of tasted like water instead of Ciroc. Was accidentally charged for the wrong item but they quickly corrected the mistake. I was already buzzing and didn’t triple check my receipt so when I took another look at the receipt the following day i realized I was charged for an extra shot when I only ordered two! Had a fun night with friends overall.

We waited over half an hour for a private room for a group of 15 for karaōke when there was only one other party there. Once we settled in, we put in our drink order. The manager came back 10 minutes later and told us that since half of our party wasn’t over 21 we had to enjoy our drinks at the bar — there were only 2 people underage and they were the drivers for the night. When 75% of our party left the room we’d paid for to have drinks at the bar, we were then told there was a $ 10 minimum for cards and they were only able to split a tab 4 ways. Absurd. I came back later to order another drink and was able to use my card to pay for its $ 5 cost with a different bartender. The drinks were great and strong — not horribly overpriced. The karaōke room was generally clean, but got very hot with all of us in there. Fun experience aside from the manager who decided to make our visit particularly difficult. Probably won’t be back here again.

I survived the hype. I’m not normally up to venturing over to Convoy’s overly crowded, no parking community, but I made an exception for a double date night. My husband and I left early anticipating spending time parking and possibly waiting in line for a table. Fortunately, we found a parking spot right up front and didn’t have to wait, mind you we went at 6:15pm. It was really dark and honestly felt dirty to me, but hey it’s known for its ‘nightlife’ vibe. The food was pretty good. Large portions and flavorful. I just felt heavy and kinda gross after. Not recommended for a light meal kind of night because there’s nothing there for light eaters. Everything is heavy and filling. The customer service was okay. No one seemed excited to be there or serve you. I would definitely be back to give it a second try.

This is definitely the place if you’re going in a group, want to drink, and don’t care about noise. My best friend and I come here occasionally when all our other dinner ideas fall through. Thankfully our wait was only about 15 minutes on a Friday night. While we were waiting, we could already hear all the drunk yells and slamming of glasses on tables. We were lucky to get the booth all the way in the back. I wouldn’t really call it a booth. It’s just two benches and a table. And they benches are pretty solid, not comfortable. However I do prefer these tables over the tables on the other side of the restaurant because these ones are separated and not in the open. As I mentioned, this place is loud. Don’t expect to be able to hear the people in front of you unless you speak up! And expect to hear a lot of yelling from drunk customers. All tables have a button that has the options of call, water, and bill. I’m not sure if these actually work or if the employees actually care about them because they hardly came to our table when we pressed it. My biggest problem was how long it took for us to get our food. We ordered and wait over 20 minutes for our food. However the people who sat at the table to the left of us, got their food right after we got ours! They had only been seating for like 10 minutes. I mean I’m happy our food was fresh, but it took way too long for some meat and ramen. The food here is not inexpensive. We ordered the galbi, spicy popcorn chicken, and the Korean ramen. Our bill was $ 42. In my opinion, that’s a bit pricey for 3, dished. There are some dishes that are worth it because they’re bigger but in general it’s a bit much. But I will say that the food is good. And our popcorn chicken was HUGE! No matter how much we ate, we could not make a dent in it. My feelings are always mixed about Min Sok Chon. I like their food but not their prices or noise level.

My friend took me here to introduce me to ways of drinking Soju: p… The place apparently gets pretty crowded after 8−9pm but we went there around 7pm. there were still quite a few ppl over there. Its kind of dim lit. with private booths… TVs and music playing. happening!!! We sat down and my friend ordered some veggie fried rice, tofu soup and yogurt soju drink… The food arrived promptly and was steaming hot and was very inviting… I loved the soup and the fried rice… I never expected a korean place to make a veggie dish and also not have egg in it but what do u know. thanks to my awesome friend. They did it… I loved the Sohu drink too. apparently the way to drink Soju is to take a small sip and eat some hot food or better yet drink some hot soup and oh yes!!! It was delicious… we ate quite a bit of food and hung out for a while… The place is nice for a after work hangout. the only problem is parking is very tight. if h r lucky like me u get a spot in 10mins else you would have to park on one of the streets behind and walk to the restaurant… but do try this place!!!

I can honestly say I fell in love with place. Grant it the first visit was so long and I was unaware that you needed to press a button to get service. But over all this place gets a 5 star. The service is fast and their pricing for the or karoke rooms is reasonable. My favorite this to order is fried kimchi rice with spam and their yogurt soju is so bomb. If you go during happy hour beware and do not drive home the drinks hit you hard trust me. Definitely dragging my friends here again lol

I used to love coming to this place to experience the private karaōke rooms and they have added some screens to the rooms. The rooms are well kept but the books are sticky from food. Though I have been feeling rushed the last couple of times I have went and even though I have made reservations. There is no place to wait for seating because the doors are open and people are allowed to stand within 20 feet of the door entrance and smoke. As for inside near the bar people are allowed to vape/e-cig inside. If you want to find a place that let’s you smoke outside and pretty much inside this place is for you. I don’t plan on bringing others to this place any more because it seems this place is always packed.

I’ve been coming to MSC ever since I was 15 years old. My older cousins used to take me here to hang out and eat korean food with the«cool kids». This used to be a hangout place where all the«cool kids» would gather around and eat at. They have a central dining area where it feels like an open club space with bench set up seating. I’ve always loved eating here, I go here typically at odd hours anywhere from 10pm, 12 midnight or 2am(after club hours, or when I’m driving back from a long trip from LA). The waiter recognizes me all the time and remembers my order so I never usually have to tell him what I want, he just knows! I suggest the Bul Dae Jungol, which is a hot pot dish that has sausage links, spam, ramen noodles. tofu, veggies, etc. The soup base is spicy but not on your toes spicy where you have to gulp water after every spoon feed. The spice is just right and thats why I enjoy that dish. This dish is meant to share amongst 2 – 3 people. I also enjoy their spicy chicken, I usually get the tangy sauce on the side and just dip the crispy chicken into the sauce. It’s so scrumptious that way and it keeps the chicken crisp! Their Kimchi Spam Fried Rice has always been a popular choice of mines. Heck, sometimes I crave it so badly I just call in for a togo order and pick it up and have it for dinner at home! They offer a fair amount of sides, I love the potato salad, fish cakes, and pickled cucumber the best! They have a karaōke room as well if you wish to dine inside and sing with you and your guest. The rates vary I believe so call and ask ahead of time! Last but not least they have a bar inside which is marvelous! They have a wide range of drinks on their wall so most likely what ever it is that you like to drink, they got it! Usually when we are seated at a table or in the karaōke room my friends and I would order Soju, my favorite flavor is Yogurt Soju! Writing this review definitely makes me hungry and I will always be coming back here for my favorite dishes for as long as I will be residing in San Diego. Thank you MSC for always offering amazing service to me and my guest and your wide range of food selections on your menu(though I usually always stick to my norms).

Food is pretty good, but they need to work on their cleanliness, both in the service and in the spaces. While walking from our table to go to the bathroom, the floor was pretty sticky from all the spilled beer. The floor restroom was even worse, because I almost lost my shoe from it being so stuck to the floor. They also need to close those restroom doors, because as soon as you turn towards the restrooms, you’re looking right into the men’s restroom, and I got a pretty good view of a guy using the urinal without me even going in. There’s also a stall in the girl’s restroom that locks, but it gets stuck while you’re trying to unlock it. I spent a good 10 seconds trying to wiggle it unlocked. I thought I was going to get trapped in there. The service could be better. We pressed the call button twice to ask for more water pitchers, but they never came. Eventually we had to actually take our empty pitcher to the bar and ask for them to fill it up. They also never really seemed to take our empty dishes. We ordered a lot. So as the food kept coming, we kept finishing the plates, yet they were never really picked up. Our table got really crowded with plates, so we had to stack them to create more room. We had to vocally ask them to take the plates, and even then they only took the one or two plates that were handed to them by us, still leaving the other empty plates to still take up the entire two tables. Their food is pretty decent. A lot of people like their popcorn chicken. They have them in original and spicy. I like both of them, but I think I would prefer the spicy one more. However, if you’re sensitive to spiciness, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s enough to have you grabbing for water after a few bites, and you can feel a hint of burn on your lips for a while. I can handle it perfectly fine, and it’s delicious. Their soju is THEBEST I’ve ever had. They taste exactly like what they’re supposed to taste like, and you can’t taste the alcohol in them. At all. It’s dangerous. Especially during happy hour. It’s amazing. If you want to get drunk, go here. This is the one thing that keeps me coming back.

Service here is horrible, even if they have that«button buzzer» on the tables… I don’t think it works honestly. Expect a long wait during weekends with people who wants to drink and eat. This place is very mediocre. It gets my Korean cravings fix but the food is more like drunk/drinking food. They also have loud music playing. Parking…um good luck with that on weekends. Find street parking or just wait until you get lucky. Last time I came to MSC I seen throw up in the parking lot floor… well someone got a bit ratcheet… They do have happy hour is everyday .half off on soju and other drink specials. From 5pm and it ends at 8pm. Their soju flavor are all good. especially the yogurt flavored ones but don’t expect to get drunk off those! They also have a full bar if you prefer to order speciality made drinks or any requests they will also make it on the spot for you. If I want something sweet to just enjoy I would order the midori sour. Or if I’m feeling like I had a long day and need a stronger drink, a shot of Hennessy does the job for me. They also have karaōke rooms and you can order drinks and food in there. you just can’t bring your own alcohol from home inside and trust me when I say they are constantly coming in the room to check up on you about that. My favorite dishes here are the spicy mussels, kimchi fried rice with spam, and spicy seafood soup. Prices are a bit expensive but the portions are big enough to share between 2 – 3 even 4 sometimes if you order more than one dish. All their food dishes comes with a lot of sides… and they’re pretty darn delicious. Oh by the way the side dishes are unlimited so keep it coming.

For late night dining, this is one of your few options that isn’t fast food. Especially if you are looking for vegetarian options. My partner ordered the Biminbop, which was Okay(much better next door, but they were closed) and I ordered a glass noodle veggie dish, japchae, which was a little greasy but also Okay. They only brought us two little side dishes(Banchan), so I asked the waiter for a side dish of kimchi as well. I couldn’t help notice other tables had 5 or 6 Banchan sides. We weren’t blown away by the food, but the atmosphere was fun and party-ish, a nice late-night vibe. There are also karaōke rooms if you are so inclined(we do like us some karaōke!) although it was 1:30am so we chose sleep over karaōke, this time. Tip: If you sit near the door, sometimes the smoke blows in when it opens from the smokers outside. I think the host asked them to move away from the door at some point, because it got better later on.

If you have experienced Koreatown LA, don’t bother. I know that SD Kearny Mesa can’t be Ktown but this place wasn’t that great for drinking. 1. Flavored soju was very weak. I tasted all mix and no soju. I barely caught a buzz after numerous shots. 2. Dok ko bi was decent. Super spicy. 3. Service was subpar. There were large groups of young twenty something’s and the staff was so busy. It was so busy that their awesome security guard doubled as host. He seated us and gave us menus — first this has ever happened! We tipped less than 18% which we rarely do and it was reflective of the service. Hire more staff to unload the huge burden on your current staff. 4. Not my kind of crowd. I like to have a good time but there was too much yelling before taking shots moments — isn’t that a college thing? 5. The bathroom was filthy! YUCK! Meh, I wouldn’t come back.

I have been coming here for years and I like getting their soju. Your allow to mix two flavors. I like mixing their yogurt with blue raspberry. For a large size soju($ 25) you can share it with a group of friends. The food here is pricey but they give you big portions and it comes out super fast. Their spicy popcorn chicken is pretty good. You can ask for spice on a side cause they usually drench with their spicy sauce, which can be a bit spicy. Garlic Parmesan wing where good. Tasted just like any other place. Just pricey for what it’s worth. Kimchi friend with an egg and spam was good. I just wish the egg was more towards the over easy side. Btw you get side dishes when you order food here. I love eating the fish cake and potato salad the most. Overall good place to come here to drink soju, service is friendly and nice.

So many Korean BBQ places to choose from in this area! Private parking lot shared with other businesses. Tends to get full during peak hours. As my friend and I walked in, we weren’t quite sure what to do. The host at the front didn’t greet us right away. We just stood there with question marks on our faces. It was our first time dining here. Finally, one of the servers showed us to our table. The tables were like picnic tables with bench seating. Lighting in the beginning wasn’t too bad, until we got our food. Then they decided to dim the already dimmed lights. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the bill toward the end of our meal! Speaking of meals… we ordered the Galbi(Korean style short ribs), Steamed Dumplings, and the Bibimbap Hot Stone Pot. Our meals came with the Korean side dishes. We enjoyed the food. Although, it would be nice to see what we were eating. It was a little too dark inside. They are equipped with TVs and bumpin’ music. I felt like I was in a night club. The floors were very sticky as you walk through the restaurant. Our server only checked on us once, toward the end. He did not tell us that they have a call button to use if we wanted more water, service or the bill. We figured that out on our own, after sitting at our table for awhile. Not sure I’ll be back. There’s always room for a revisit… maybe during the day.

Without fail this is a place to go to if youre in 30s and under. Great environment for groups because they have large sitting areas for dining or private karaōke room for singing. I Iove this especially when my friends and I dont know what to do on a weekend night. I recommend: the chicken wing and any of the flavored sojus!

I kid you not, my first time at MSC was about 5 or so years ago. I’ve been here plenty of times, but am finally getting the chance to review it. Within the last few years, every time I would go here would be because cousins from out of town would want some good Asian food and soju. There’s also rooms that are closed off with curtains where you can do karaōke! I loved coming here because the owners and waiters would be attentive and extremely nice, even giving us free bottles of soju. My last time coming here was pretty recent, like 2 weeks ago. My boyfriend and I came in around 7:50, and at 7:59, were still able to order soju off of the happy hour menu that ended at 8. It’s 50% off, and technically it was still happy hour even though there was just a minute to spare! The watermelon soju was good, but tasted a little watered down. We ordered food for us to share, and the two dishes were pretty fulfilling. The popcorn chicken was an appetizer(and it came with a little side of salad), but there was so much! It was good and not comparable to TapEx – because that’s what I automatically think of when I read«popcorn chicken” – but I felt as if I was eating more batter than the actual chicken. We also ordered kimchi fried rice with spam(adding that was an extra $ 1) and it was not too spicy. It was a plate full of rice, so it was a lot! We didn’t even finish our food. The kimchi fried rice with spam is popular, and I suggest it. There were little sides of potatoes and kimchi, and I killed the potatoes! Honestly, I don’t remember the food I had every other time I went. I do remember ordering a hot plate of bulgogi(I think?) and it was tasty, but a small portion. I think going here with big parties is better because it makes the experience funner and the service is better.

Min Sok Chon… my default place to go when I have no idea where to eat in Clairemont. I have been going here for almost a decade and seen the changes throughout the years. The food has always been good especially their spicy chicken wings(which are the best!). Before their service was lacking. very below par, but the food was still good so I kept going back. But after some changes here and there(same owner), the service has gotten so much better. Menu has changed and some of the options that used to be on the menu are no longer there(which were really good!.. this why I took one star away). Nevertheless. I love this place and I’m glad it’s still around. Great place for a late night bite and soju!

This is my family’s go-to place when we want to have some karaōke fun. The food is always good and the servings are big. We usually always get the bulgogi, galbi, chicken wings, and parmesan fries, and of course a few bottles of soju ;] The rooms are always clean and even the smaller rooms are bigger than usual, compared to other karaōke places. Service is pretty good, people are friendly and prompt. The price for the food is up there, but I think the quality and quantity makes up for it. I haven’t yet just dined in, and not do karaōke. Hopefully I will soon so I can try out their dine in menu. Will update when that happens.
