veggie burrito was satisfying and the staff was polite. the burrito was filling and tasted great for a $ 5 burrito it was definitely worth it.

Perhaps the first Mexican place that I ever tried in SD after arriving as a fresh, naïve student from the east coast in 19.cough.86. «5 Rolled Tacos with Guacamole $ 2.99» How could you go wrong? Answer: «guacamole» = sour cream with green food coloring… that’s how!

for all those writing bad reviews, you probably ordered the wrong food. I’m sure not all of their food is that great but nonetheless super affordable. let me tell you what is good here. if you like tacos, the tacos here are much better than Trujillos across the street. Los panchos actually tastes like legit Mexican food as opposed to Americanized Mexican food. cabeza soft tacos with green sauce and sour cream. that is what you should try! being open late and the drive through is definitely a plus. it’s funny how reviewers are saying Los panchos are for drunk kids during weekends and they rather go to Trujillos. anyone who’s even passed by Trujillos know that’s the spawning spot of all drunks. Trujillos is always packed and loud during late weekend nights as opposed to the quieter and calmer atmosphere of Los panchos. but both places have different foods that are good!

There was a time when I had a very limited budget and every cent in my pocket was geared towards food, alcohol, cigs and dope. I was 19, a total mess and the cheaper the meal the better. A 12-er of Keystone Ice, a dime bag of mex and 5 rolled tacos from Los Panchos and I was set for the night. As long as you had 8 quarters, 20 dimes or 40 nickels in your pocket Los Panchos could set you straight. This place isn’t trying to wow anyone w/their great food but for a little cheap Mexican stand open super late in the middle of a college area it was/is awesome. A lot of negative reviews about this spot but what the hell did you expect? «Only drunk people eat here» Yeah they do, why don’t you go back to Love Library and hit those books before my drunk ass gives you a wedgie. Everything is really cheap and the store is a dilapidated old Wiener schnitzel. I remember the cashier hooked my bro up once w/free food b/c he was so broke. When’s the last time that happened at Rubios? The fact that people would ever waste their time doing a negative review for a spot that is catering towards poor students is pathetic. One of the reviewers for this spot also negatively Unilocaled«Rocky’s» after doing take out. Are you kidding me? What a malignant cunt.

only drunk people eat here, might tell you why they think it’s good. the next day they vomit from the food and the bad alcohol they had.

way better than trujuilos in my opinion. Drive thru or order togo perfect for the walk back 4 star for being the best in its category of quick Mexican fast food.

I would always prefer to go to Trujuillos, but if you need a greasy filling breakfast burrito, Panchos is open early. Cheap food, cheap service. It is what it is, tastier than McD’s down the street, but probably less healthy.

This place is bad is not the place to go if you have options. I’ve had friends who suspiciously get sick after eating at this location. Most of the SDSU students know about the quality of this place. Their name may have slightly changed but the food sure hasn’t. Every time i’ve gone here the staff really seems to hate their job. The people who do go here usually don’t w anna deal with trujillos lines, want to use a drive thru, or have no refined sense of tastes and stantards. If you ask me if I like Mexican food I say no, but thats because the quality and style of the food can vary from place to place, with few constants even in mexico. I love Mexican food from good places, and by way of taco shops this place isn’t even on my radar. If the 2 Mexican places across the street are closed, and i don’t feel like going to santanas i’ll go here, but i’ll get rolled tacos because its hard to do rolled tacos too bad

Ick. Absolutely disgusting puke on a plate. The only way that this dog food can possibly taste good is after liberal amounts of alcohol or other illegal substances. In my SDSU days I found myself here on more than one occasion due to its proximity to my husband’s old fraternity house, and afterwards I always regretted indulging in its greasy grossness. The bottom line is that there are many other taco shops in the college area, and they are ALL better than Los Panchos. Don’t get stuck eating this crap.

A terrible mexican restaurant. I’ve eaten here multiple times, including times when drunk and everything«should» taste good, but no matter what, the place never comes through. With Trujillos and Las Casitas in the area, there is no reason to go here. I will admit, they are trying a bit harder than they used to. They modified their name and painted their building. But that’s only a surface change. The food is still sloppy and overly done. I will try it again in the near future to make sure this review is still accurate.

Anyone want some gato asado? how about some bistec de perro? This place has got to be one of the worst excuses for a taco shop that I have ever been to. Long ago, when I lived in the dorms at SDSU, I used to wander over here drunk among the crowds of college students in order to get some horrible food. Of course, I couldn’t really tell the difference, but I ate here sober one time, man it was nasty. Yeah, it’s cheap, but a lot of places are. I do have to say, the options within walking distance are really not good. Trujillos was a good option, but they turned wack with their high prices and catering to the greeksters. Albertaco has got to be at least as bad and La Torta is great, I think it closes much earlier. I guess if you don’t have a choice you could go here, but I would honestly bite my lip and go to Trujillos instead if La Torta was closed and my legs were incapable of walking to the next best thing(I don’t know what that is around there of course).

Chicken quesedilla stuffed with sour cream, side of hot carrots, HEAVEN!!! And for just over five bucks? One of San Diego’s best kept secrets.

Now lets get this clear that the main reason for going here is not to get«amazing» mexican food, it’s to eat when you are flat broke. You know those moments where you realize your belly is touching your spine and realize you have absolutely no money in your car? Those are the moments where Jesus is motioning you to go to Los Panchos Taco Shop. I have no idea how this place gets away with having such inexpensive food and giving you so much. It seems like a dollar you picked up off the floor in change from your car floor buys you an absolute mountain of rolled tacos! But if you do have money, the urge to go get their food is non-existent, unless you have been partying in surrounding neighborhoods and need some kind of sustenance to soak up all of the alcohol flowing into your liver. That is what Los Panchos is for. Other than that, pick somewhere else. Oh, and note to self, there are typically some of the sketchiest of sketchy people at this place, no matter what time it is… watch your surroundings.

Come on, Los Panchos is good, but it is expensive. For how much I pay, I can get a much bigger, larger, burritos or tacos anywhere in the area. It’s not like I am looking for a PF Chang in Chula Vista here, there are tons of taco stands/shops and you know it. It is a good place, but no where closed to 4 – 5 stars.

home of the green sour cream!!! their guacamole is unlike most taco shops around town bc it looks thick, creamy and light green. i suspect their just mixing equal parts of guac & sour cream, but hey, it works for an interesting twist. after i’ve hit up multiple ‘bertos for the usual carne asada chips or rolled tacos and crave good olé’ mexican food w/a slightly different taste, this is where i end up.
