This place is a hidden Jem there’s only two other afghan places in San Diego. This one is not only reasonable in the price, but the portions are huge! The food is so tasty coming from an Afghan.

I love this little food court gem. Always making my food fresh and exactly how I order it, the meat and all the rest is so delicious and just juicy and tender. The owner and employees here make it extra great, always friendly and genuine.

This review is for the food and catering service. We attended a party where Kabul West catered the entire meal. The food was fantastic! There was a great selection of kebabs(beef, chicken, salmon and shrimp), garden salad, stews, yogurt dip and different rice options. They had samosas that were addictive too! They were cooking meat throughout the night so everyone had a chance to get fresh, hot meat. Everything was fresh and flavorful. They also provide full catering service where they bring all equipment and materials for your party, set it all up and even clean up everything before they leave! The owner and workers were friendly and attentive to the guests’ needs. If you’re having a party and need catering, you should consider Kabul West.

Perfectly cooked chicken kabob, as always. Friendly lady works there, but the guy is gruff. Whatever. Food is well made.

Food is excellent, was at a party last week that was catered by Kabul West. This was the first time I have tried this kind of food. Everything was so tender and tasty. Food was spiced enough and was presented in a very professional/gourment way. My only suggestion would be to have some kind of information about the dishs that were served. We were not really sure what we piled on our plates but all looked and tasted great. Will be using them to cater my next party.

Tried their lamb curry(comes with a salad) and the Quabuli pulau. The meat was very tender and the curry tasted simply yummy. The quantity was good enough for the price. Hoping to try more stuff from them.

Best chicken kabobs ever! Miss their food after moving to the bay area even though bay area has tonnes of great restaurants.

Food was decent but I found the food a little dry. Needed a sauce or something to go with it. Would try again, but probably after I try a few other places in this food court close.

Worst food ever had. I ordered chicken curry and to my surprise the curry is mixed with Beef and chicken(I don’t eat beef which is a religious thing). It’s terrible experience.

Was in the area today and decided to stop by Kabul West because I make it a point to go there whenever I’m in the area and they are open. The owner is a guy named Sayed who is very friendly and pleasant. He recommended the special of the day which was mushroom and chicken in a curry sauce served with two types of rice and a small green salad and homemade Afghani bread. Everything was delicious and freshly prepared! I love this place, used to eat there when they were located at the corner of Midway Drive and Rosecrans many years ago. It’s now located in the middle of a very interesting food court that doesn’t have any of the typical fast food chains in it(hence I would like to try them all) but this is where I end up going every time! Try it, you’ll thank me :-) Oh, and for those of you who have lived in San Diego a long time, you’ll also find a chicks natural rotisserie chicken restaurant that used to be located in the Uptown shopping center in Hillcrest!

So far the best kebab I’ve had at SD… The marinated chicken skew is so tender and for $ 9 you got a very large portion. This is definitely my favorite spot at Food court.

Sometimes it can be a gamble eating at a food court, but in this case it paid off! Kabul is quality and quantity. I had the chicken and beef kabob plate, and the flavors were delicious and the meat was cooked perfectly! I’ll certainly be frequenting Kabul!

I got a mixed kabob plate and it was amazing, all of it! Two types of rice, both fantastic as well. I asked the owner which sauces to use and he recommended the cilantro with mixed with the two hot pepper sauces he had if you like some kick! They were spot on! I was so impressed, the chicken was cooked perfectly, very succulent, excellent seasoning. I will definately be going back.

D.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s. I have eaten food catered from Kabul West on occasion. Generally when it’s an Afghani thrown function. I can see why. The food is NOMNOMNOM! Meaning it’s darn Gucci, Gucci-Fendi-Fendi-Prada(Kreayshawn voice). Top of it’s rank boo. I wish there was a closer location. *WhOMp WhOMp WhOMp*(Sad theme music). Both the sweet brown rice with raisins and the white rice taste fresh and flavorful. The spinach is definitely some of the best I’ve ever had! The chicken is also yummy and perfect in texture, soft and chewy on the inside and well flavored on the out. The rest of the food was good to but clearly the items mentioned above were memorable to my pallet. When in Rome or in this case SD, stop by!

Had the chicken kabob with hummus and tabouleh here and loved it! One of the best lunches I’ve had from that food court. All items were packed with flavour and were filling. The meal also came with a warm pita and bread.

I spent last chrismas over in San Diego, and had the opportunity to try almost everything from the menu… mostly kabobs. the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The shrimp, and chicken wrap was mind blowing… and then koobideh, tikka kabob was over the top… There were also other good afghan restaurants in san diego and san Francisco,… but this place was the best. However the food court was busy, so we sat outside… there is more seating area there… it was fun. if you guys go to this restaurant. please don’t forget to try their POPBOMB… lol… mix all the drinks…

We went to the food court because my wife said it has many options. Indeed it did. I couldnt decide between so many thing I could have… Then it came down to th greek place and this kebob place. so as I was in the mood for a sandwich or a wrap I decided to go for this place… I ordered the grilled vegetable wrap… I had to wait a longg time to get it as people who ordered after me got their plates before I did, may be because they have the stuff for the platters ready and do the wraps to order? Then I got my wrap… I took a bit into it and it was very bland, it was filled with cabbage, raw red onions and some other stuff. I wondered if this was my order then I got one piece of bell pepper that was not cold… The wrap was very crumbly… But I saw people around me had the platters and they enjoyed them. may be I just ordered the wrong thing

TWOWORDS: Chicken kabob! I always get that and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with getting the same thing over and over again when I come here. Hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it. Lunch here runs about $ 7 – 10 and it’s totally worth it! Whenever I miss my husband’s aunt’s Afghani’s cooking, I come here. It’s the real deal!
