The prices are much better than I had thought. I paid $ 9 for my gyro salad. The meat was very tasty, exactly what I was looking for! I was a little disappointed that the salad had chunks of tomatoes and cucumbers — too big to eat bite size and I didn’t have the ability to cut them where I ate(quickly before a meeting). I would have appreciated if the salad came ready to go– without the need for me to cut it up. Overall it was a great experience with prompt service. I’ll be back!

Always consistent and fresh. Good prices and friendly. It’s a good court but this place is very good and you wouldn’t expect if. Give it a try.

I decided to try out the Greek Café because I needed to stop for a pound of coffee at Starbucks and Chicks Natural wasn’t sounding as good as it usually does. I had the falafel hummus plate, which was certainly a lot of food. Six small/medium falafels, greek salad, hummus, tahini and pita. The tahini was rather bland and flavorless as was the hummus. The highlight of the meal, meaning, the item with the most flavor was the giant hunk of feta on the salad. Okay, I guess it was the salad itself, but the large piece of feta was quite exciting. Overall, it’s not bad for a food court experience, but I don’t know that I’d make a special trip here.

Tried this place for a quick lunch. I wouldn’t go back. The cashier didn’t seem too well-versed with the menu or special of the day. The gyros plate comes with rice or fries, gyros, pita bread and salad. The rice was just like what you get from a package of rice a roni or instant rice. The salad had a huge chunk of tomato(hard to eat) and they even left the huge chunk of the bottom of a lettuce ball in the salad(maybe some people like that? I don’t) even the cheese on the salad is not crumbled. Seems the dish was lazily put together. I guess I cannot complain since it is a spot in a food court, so you get what you pay for.

I came to est here on my lunch break. You need to come early because to get a table during lunch hour is like finding a parking spot at the del mar faire. The guy took my order, although I had told him fries, but he wrote down rice. I was a little but disturbed, but the the rice was good so he can be pardoned. Lol. The meat is good and just everything fits in the right place. This is my default plate as this dish has never failed and everyone seems to like this even if they have never eaten Greek food. The only thing are getting good seats while enjoying your food because the sun burns around 11 to 12. Enough sidetracking, you get what you pay for which is a lot of food, not like cheap Chinese food, but good quality and tastes good. Thats all that matters, either way you will not be disappointed of you come here.

This place had the cutest girl ever at the cash register. I think she was the daughter of the owners. I should have asked for her number! :(

This is a great lunch spot. I go there around once a week for lunch as I work nearby. They people there are very nice and I have never had an incorrect order, and they remember what I usually order. Its also one of the fastest of the restaurants in the food court. Their Gyro salad is very large and very fresh which is my usual order. I also love their gyro sandwiches. They have daily combination plate specials as well. Much better than Daphne’s. Support your local family run businesses.

This place is COMPLETELYINCOMPETENT!!! I just got back to the office only to open my take out order and find a salad with NODRESSING anywhere to be found, and NO tzatziki sauce at all. I don’t want to eat dry, flavorless meat and salad in the first place, but especially not if I don’t have sauce. Thanks for wasting my time and money. I will NEVER be back here. What a joke. I thew it straight in the trash where it belongs!

The food court area is filled with a variety of restaurants and I thought to give this place a try. This is your typical gyro, tzatziki, pita bread loving café that does not offer the most spectacular food but it does live up to its name. What I had: Gyro Plate The Good: The meat was done in the traditional way(rotisserie) Plenty of rice and mixed greens Good service Waited about 5 – 10 minutes, not bad if you are on a short lunch Baklava was tasty, not overly sweet. I am glad they did not modify it! Pita bread was not stale or overcooked The Bad: Can be a bit bland with the meat and rice combination. The tzatziki sauce does save the day though Pricey @ ~10 dollars + additional for the baklava I am not impressed but satisfied. Not much to say about this restaurant. If you are craving Mediterranean food and not expecting much, give this place a try. Do not expect 5 star quality.

Been eating here since 2004 when I worked at Sbux next door. Thier Gryo Sandwich is the BEST in town, really. The meat and tzaziki sauce is sooo good, and hot sauce. on your sandwich or thick steak fries, good with everything. I’ve also had kebabs, salads, falafel, dolmas, spanakopita. never been dissatisfied. Plus, friendly and prompt service. They remember me since I was a teenage barista. But purely 5 stars for delicious food.

Surprisingly a good place to eat. I’ve always avoided it because photos on the menu are old and no longer look appetizing. Food court today was very busy and suddenly Greek Café was the only place without the line to order. So I went ahead and decided to give them a try. Ordered hummus and felafel plate, $ 7.50 to go. When I opened my lunch at work I was pleasantly surprised. Good amount of food with an extra tahini sauce. Everything tasted good. Felafel is one of the best I’ve tried — crispy on the outside and not dry inside. Great flavor too. The only dish that disappointed is hummus. It is lacking spices, lemon juice and may be something else, I am not sure what. The texture is very creamy and smooth. They need to improve taste. I see that other reviewers mentioned that as well. So out of all the places to eat at Sorrento Valley food court this place is on of the best.

The food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. I usually get the special of the day for $ 7.50. Today I ordered, The gyros plate. It comes with delicious marinated slices of beef, fresh Greek salad, rice/fries and pita bread. Don’t forget to ask for some of their hot sauce, I don’t know the name but is bomb. There’s usually a line during lunch hours but is totally worth the wait. Very friendly staff and pretty girl at the register. ;) Enjoy!

This is as good as food court eating gets. I usually go for the moussaka plate because it is so freaking delicious and there aren’t that many places around that serve it. It really tastes like a homemade dish. I tried one of the meat specials one day just to branch out and didn’t enjoy it as much, but know that others like the dish. Give the Greek Café a try if you are in the area on your lunch break.

I have been to this place several times for lunch. The food is pretty tasty. I dig the pita bread and the gyro meat is gooood. But after my experience, I don’t really care how tasty the food is. Service is important, and these guys just don’t know how to make good when they’ve done wrong. If you DO decide to eat here, pay in cash… here’s why: I went in and had lunch on Friday 4⁄4. On Monday, I noticed that my bank card had been charged twice in a row for my food. This has happened before at other restaurants, so I figured it’d be just as easy to have it charged back. Call #1(Monday): An older man answered and apologized for the inconvenience. He took my info and said he’d «go through and find it and refund it.» Easy right? NOPE. Call #2(Friday): A woman answers the phone and I explain that I had called Monday, but hadn’t seen the refund come through. She says«Oh, that was already done.» I told her it would be showing as a pending transaction if it was. She then tells me to call back in 15 minutes so she can ask the owner. Call #3(Friday, 15 minutes later): A different woman answers and I explain who I am. She says, «Oh, the owner wants you to call him at his other office,» and she gives me the number. Call #4(Friday, a few minutes after that): I call the number I was given by the girl at the restaurant. I reach«Sunset Bamboo,» which is apparently another business run by the owner. A guy answers and I ask for«Tony,» as instructed. The guy tells me to hold on, goes away for a few minutes, then comes back on to say«Oh he’ll have to call you back.» He takes my name and number. I don’t hear back on Friday or Saturday, or Sunday, or Monday, or Tuesday… Call #4(Wednesday at 11am): I call and get voicemail. I leave a message explaining who I am and don’t get a call back. So here I am. Yeah, the food was pretty decent, but not at double the price. I’m going to have to talk to my bank tomorrow and see what they can do.

To echo other reviewers, much more deserving of your attention than you’d think since it’s tucked away in an otherwise uninteresting food court. I used to come here a lot a couple of years ago, but stopped. Now I have returned, and with a huge love of greek food to boot! The falafel is really wonderful. It’s very crispy on the outside, but moist on the inside, and has a great flavor. I feel the falafel and hummus plate, while delicious, is totally overkill and I never finish it all. My other favorite thing here are their chicken skewers, which are really tender and seasoned so they are really delicious. I have attempted to replicate the seasoning at home and can’t even come close– I don’t know what they use, but I’d love the recipe! Other reviewers commented on not liking the tzatziki sauce, but I think it’s some of the best I’ve ever had– it’s kind of rich and buttery and has a pleasant flavor. The fries are just average steak fries. The rice is a lightly-seasoned rice(kind of average also for a greek place.) The salad is pretty mediocre as well IMO. I’m also disappointed that there is no sandwich and salad or fries combo, given how many combos they have(14?) One last thing: the lovely people who work the counter often mess up my order and give me rice instead of fries or vice-versa. I think because the atmosphere in the food court is a little loud, you need to speak very clearly when you say«fries» or «rice» because they end up sounding similar.

Out of all of the options in the food court, this is my «go to» place. I love it. The food is always good and I think the owners are wonderful. I always get a chicken plate of some sort and I’m never disappointed — the chicken is always delicious. You get a lot of food: salad, pita with tzatziki sauce, rice or fries and meat. It’s a great quick and easy option for about $ 8.00.
