Wait– why did you close down?! This was my favorite afghan spot in San Diego! Please tell me you just moved locations…

As others said, definitely a tiny, family-owned place(Afghani I think?). Customer service was alright, though they had a very loud TV going that was somewhat distracting. The lunch special was quite affordable($ 5 I think) and quite filling. The only thing that differentiated them from other places, besides the prices, was an interesting side of spices that reminded me of Iranian food and tasted delicious. So far, so good. But then I thought to order an after-lunch drink. I was accidentally given a tea latte first, which tasted disgusting, before getting the latte I actually ordered, which was equally unimpressive. I threw both of them out after a few sips. McDonalds makes better lattes. Do not order any of their drinks. Would like to help these guys out, but they should just focus on the good food.

This is a family owned, mom and pop restaurant. The service was excellent! The owners greeted us right away; they are very friendly. The restaurant is clean, casual and intimate. I bought the lamb gyros plate, and my husband got the chicken plate. These come with salad, pita bread, rice or fries. the owner gave us both, so we could try their rice. We would get rice over fries next time. The lamb and chicken were moist and flavorful. Everything was made fresh to order. The basmati rice was delicious, and the fries were very crispy. Their salad dressing and tzatziki sauce were home made. Yum! We cleaned our plates, and the serving size is huge. We could have easily shared, but we had our own plates. Because I am pregnant, I am very picky with food. This food really hit the spot. If this place was closer to my home, my husband and I would go often. We highly recommend this restaurant. It is very authentic. You won’t be disappointed.

Owner stressed food was made fresh to order when i came in. I ordered the lamb kabob plate. And by far this place is the worst Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. The lamb i ordered medium rare, it came out super well done and so so dry it was chewy. it also tasted kind of sour, but not spoiled. The basmati rice had the foil in it, and was so obvious it was«yesterday’s» rice. Some rice kernels were so hard and dry it hurt my teeth! If your looking for Mediterranean food drive 2 miles further to a different spot. It will well be worth the wait. Oh and this crap food cost me 17 dollars.
