Hot Dog On A Stick

I like the simplicity of the menu. Cheese on a stick please, pepper jack. Ive been going here for years. But this visit i made yesterday upset me. The girl working looked so upset/​mad. It made me almost want to not get food. There was a sign promoting the new Blue raspberry flavor lemonade, I was curious to try it, but when i asked the worker about it, she was kinda like EHHH. Im sure the taste would have been subjective, maybe i should have asked to try some? But then again the way the girl said it made me not want to waste my time. I got my Pepper Jack cheese on a stick and got up outta there.

It’s been several years since our last visit to Hot Dog On A Stick and a bit of fun nostalgia to stop in for a quick snack at the mall. We enjoyed indulging on a freshly battered turkey dog [
and washing it down with an icy, tart & tangy lemonade [

I think it’s really cool that HDOS is the only company that I can think of that is 100% employee owned [
and also that their home office is located right here in Carlsbad, CA.

Not really a corn dog fan, but the Dollar Tuesday deals here are pretty legit. THey actually have a deal each day, just ask them what it is. Tuesday’s are a dollar hot dogs. Also they give samples for anything that you want to try.

If you’re lucky, you can catch the employees making the lemonade… degrading and HILARIOUS!

OK, I probably should… while this is the quintessential fair food, I actually like the mall kiosks here better than at the fair, because they’re actually cheaper!

Usually people go to the food court, but after getting hit by the overly-​sweet wall of smell coming from Cinnabon and hearing the din of the crowd, many turn away, cowering to find another place to feed. If you can make it past the haunting aura of Burger King fries and horrible Panda Express oil, you just might make it to a safe haven — Hot Dog on a Stick.
Given, it’s not any more healthy than any of the other offerings, but damn it’s good. They take cheese, roll it in batter, and deep fry it. C’mon, who does that? And my dirty little secret — it’s freaking delicious. I love grabbing a corn dog once in a while, just to reminisce of my childhood, but if you’re trapped at UTC and need some grub, you might as well get it on a stick.

How can you not love it when Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore wore those outrageous uniforms too? Lemonade, batter-​dipped deep-​fried stuff on sticks, and french fries. Basic, fun, more calories than a double whopper with cheese. The lemonades are great. Service is usually fast and friendly. If this isn’t a guilty pleasure, then what is?
