Meh. It’s wienerschnitzel. Reminds me of my youth! Came here after they bought out pup n taco chain way back when. Still tastes the same, just much pricier then way back.

I was so disappointed. Really hard to get in and out of, as many have stated before me. I asked for 2 all beef hot dogs with sauerkraut. No mustard. She then came out to verify my order. When she handed it to me I looked at the receipt and it read«2AB +kraut» and I asked if she had told them no mustard. She said, «They don’t put it on.» I took my order and pulled through so the person behind me could get their food. I checked it, MUSTARD on both. I went back and handed it to the lady and then when I got home… They were pork hot dogs. So I ended up paying for all beef that I didn’t get. I was sad. :(

Love their Chili Dogs. Reminds me of when I was a kid up in O.C. and there were Weinerschnitzels everywhere. That’s not the case down here in San Diego. Ever since my closest Weinerschnitzel in Poway closed I have to make a trek to others and I don’t do it often because I know it’s not a «healthy» choice. So, when I do it’s a treat. This Weinerschnitzel is totally old school with outdoor seating only and a drive thru right through the middle of the building. Service was friendly and fast. They put a good amount of chili on the chili dogs and I love their old fashioned shoestring French Fries.

To emphasize how much I enjoy their chili cheese fries, I will say this. I LOVETHEIRCHILICHEESEFRIES. Honestly, getting these fries after church was one of the few reasons why my mom could get me to go to church. I know. I’m bad, but their chili cheese fries are soooo good. Their use of cheddar and chili is quite nice. There isn’t too much chili or cheese. Their chili dogs and jalepeno poppers are delicious too. For such an oddly shaped fast food chain, I adore this place. Look out for their coupons. They have some pretty good deals. $ 5.55 for 5 chili dogs or corn dogs. That’s pretty darn good.

Every now and then I will get a hankering for some junk food and this is the place I go to satisfy that craving. Maybe, also the fact that I used to work at the Sports Arena concession stands years ago and always enjoyed the delicious Wienerschnitzel hot dogs they sold there. So I was in Pacific Beach this morning and about to hit the freeway and realized I wanted a chili dog and fries. This location is great because it opens at 9:00 a.m., unike the Point Loma one that won’t even look at you before 10:00 a.m. This PB Wiener also has a dragon lady owner-manager who is very eagle-eyed. If you hand her a coupon that just expired, forget about using it. I also love the corn dogs here but I am very particular about them. I do not want them over-cooked or brown. So, as long as I mention that when I order, I get my light dogs on a stick. My son, when he was a baby, LOVED the Wiener french fries, which are indeed, very good. Thin sticks of potatoes that are fried & seasoned to perfection and IMO, much better than the highly-rated McDonald’s fries. Had to deduct 1 UnilocalSTAR due to a tricky location that can get you jammed in at rush hour. However, if you drive off into the nearby residential areas, it is easy to get on Interstate 5 by using Bond Street. Then you can enjoy your hearty hot dogs and fabulous fries without stressing about being trapped in a Wienerschnitzel parking lot!

This has to be the worst customer service I have ever experienced in San Diego so far. I was getting a quick drive-thru dinner with my roommate and his girlfriend. There was a special for 5 chili dogs for 5.99! I ordered that, and an ice cream. The«team member», ALEJANDRO, asked if I would like cheese on that. Unbeknownst there an extra charge for that. When I got my bill there was an extra 3 dollars charged. I asked him what the charge was and he said it was the cheese. Keep in mind he never mentioned it would be any additional cost. So I asked him to please take the charge off. He said something back to the other workers in Spanish about my order and he gave me an attitude stating, «I should’ve known what I ordered before I asked for it.» And gave me back 1 dollar for the cheese. I didn’t want to argue about the other 2 dollars. But it’s the principal of the ordeal. If something costs extra he should’ve said so. All in all, I should’ve just went to chipotle. –unhappy customer.

Staff is always friendly here. Great place to stop by to get some fast food when it’s late at night and you just wanna go home. I love their jalepeno poppers. Their hotdog texture is too soft for my taste.

It is not bad for a fast food chain. When I first moved to San Diego, I had to stay in a hotel near by. That’s why I have been to this place a couple of times in that time period. I tried their Chicago style dogs, chili dogs and chili burgers. They were all good but I personally like the Chicago dog the best. It’s on a very busy street in PB but they have their own parking lot and drive through. Not bad if you have time constraints and need a quick bite.

I have been eating at this Weinershnitzel for years and it has never let me down. Last year when the power went out everywhere, they were the only place open, still taking orders, yes the line was around the block, but the wait was worth it. I find myself coming here at least three or four times per week, if not for hot dogs, then to get a quick ice cream cone on the way home. My favorite item is the corn dogs. Drizzle some ketchup and mustard all over it and they are absolutely delicious!

I don’t know why I even come here. Every location looks equally dirty and it just gives off an unhealthy vibe. For some reason I get weird cravings for corn dogs and that is just about the only thing that is decent here, and sometimes they are terrible. If you are lucky you will get a corn dog that is perfectly fried with a light fluffy dough. If you are unlucky you will get a dog with a hard crust that you can barely bite through. Every time I come here there are always a bunch of other people, sitting around, chowing down on chili dogs and other fattening items. I don’t know what is wrong with people these days who would rather eat a fast food hot dog than a healthy sandwich for lunch. It absolutely blows my mind.

Can’t believe I’m reviewing wienerschnitzel. Next thing you know I’ll be writing about Jack in the Box. I used to eat their hot dogs when I was a kid and haven’t had one for years. I remembered that I used to like so when I was back in San Diego I drove by this place and thought I’d check it out with my wife and kids. They all really liked the hot dogs! I was craving ketchup and mustard dog but ended up having that and chili dog and kraut dog. Kids and wife all liked theirs too. Fed the whole family for under 20 $ and all liked the food, no complaints. The place looked very clean, staff was very friendly, bathroom was very clean. No complaints. Will be back.

I’ve always been a supporter of this location. Sometimes ok, sometimes not so much. But, it’s fast food, so that’s that. Tonight I rolled through the drive through and ordered 4 mustard dogs. Pretty basic for a hot dog place I’d think. I paid for my meal and off I went, happy as a pig in shit. Well, upon returning home, I discovered the mustard dogs were actually ketchup dogs! I was PISSED. Now, I’m not interested in checking my order before I leave the establishment, as I figure they shouldn’t fuck up a simple order(or ANY order). Never been one to make statements like this, but let’s be honest, if the employees behind the counter spoke English, or at least could look at the pictures of what their menu looked like, I’d not be writing this review. Amazingly, they can run a cash register(I think) and manage not to burn the place down. I called the corporate customer service number and told the representative about my experience. When asked for my phone number, which I provided, the representative completely fucked that up, too. If you try this location, beware! You’re better off turning left at the corner and going to McDonalds.

The corn dogs are better than the hot dogs. I rank them 3rd in my root beer float category which is my favorite dessert. This location is difficult to get to certain times of the day. Overall not a bad fast flood joint. Especially if you love corn dogs.

Really good hotdogs(not as good as those on a random street car, but better than any fast food chain). Really good fries. Good deals. Good soft cream.

So far there have been no problems, but based on the attitudes of one young punk and one snippy puka, I keep my buns covered here at all times. But sometimes you just need a chili cheese dog or five, you know?

Its hard to go wrong with 5/$ 5 chili dogs if you just want some quick junk food. I’m pretty happy with the taste, and they’re very very quick. Its open late too. They’ll try to upsell you on the cheese, which I wouldn’t be opposed to if it was a good heated shredded cheese… but its literally just a plain slice of American cheese that you’d get a 24 pack of at Vons. Wienerschnitzel is a good option for when I want some quick food on the go and something different than tacos.

So i’ve lived in the PB/LJ area for the past 2 years now & pass this place all the time. never bothered to stop. Last night was a long day of car shopping & was my food«cheat day» … my g/f recommended it and i went down last night around 11:30pm…decided to try lots of things & all if it is tasty«stoner food» lol. No i wasnt, but it seemed like the perfect style of that type of food. I tried chilicheease 12″, the pretzel bun dog, classic cheese burger, small vanilla cone, and chilicheese fries… all of it was tasty. Lets be honest, you know you’re not stopping at this place for gourmet food, you know whatyou’re getting into & honestly it was better than i expected! Will go back on another cheat day!

One of the few walk up/drive thru Wienerschnitzel restaurants in the old A frame building. Nice to see some things stay the same. One of my guilty pleasures are the chili cheese dogs. Oh to die for. I wish that they sold the chili by itself or they should bottle or can the stuff, because I would stock up on it. It’s slap your mama good! The pastrami dog is decent too. The bacon wrapped street dog. I can feel my arteries hardening now! Oh Wienerschnitzel you are evil good! And shut up they serve ice cream and sundaes too! Too bad they closed the one in Poway(close to my house) to put in another Mexican Restaurant. I swear that city DOESNOT need another Mexican Restaurant. It has over 10 that I know of!

I love chili cheese dogs from der weiner. love them. apparently, this one outpost serves up burned chili after 10pm. it was not at all satisfying but has made it so that i dont really crave the dogs and probably wont for some time. other peeps were very content with their corn dogs and, for some unknown reason perhaps all the liquor), the hubby loved the kraut dog.
