I got a «love you a latte» and loved it. My husband got an americano and he really liked it. Cute little hidden place. Shaded with some outside seating. Small and cute.

Visited San Diego back in ate February and read about this fabulous little gem on Unilocal and I am so glad I tried it. Only got to visit it twice and I got the honey latte drink(sorry can’t remember the name now) and the next day I got the coconut Samoa drink. Man this girl can make a good coffee! Plus, sitting down outside enjoying your coffee with her cute little nook in the corner surrounded by little succulent plants on the table feels so peaceful. Got to read, sip, and truly enjoy my mornings here

The first time I visited Heartsleeves Coffee I was in San Diego on vacation. I was blown away by the Chai Tea that I ordered. It beat out my usual morning supplier of Chai Tea by a mile! In fact, it was so good, I had to go back the next day to get another. I love the way it’s tucked away, private and personable. It’s one of those places that you could literally hang out at all day. I’ve made Heartsleeves a regular stop from now on, when I visit San Diego. I wish I could go there daily for the Chai, but it would be too much of a commute from Gilbert, AZ!

I really liked this place. It’s a tiny nook in the middle of Little Italy. Great coffee, comfortable ambience, just a nice vibe in general. The patio seating outside seemed like a nice place to enjoy your coffee on a nice day.

This little coffeeshop is so cute and unique! I love the Alice in Wonderland theme for their décor and their drinks are amazing! I got the Love & Aesthetics and my bf got the Love You a Latte which the barista recommended to us. Definitely would recommend to try this place!

This coffee shop is set in the back of a private little ally making for a great tucked away little secret. I felt the coffee leaned towards the more expensive side because specialty coffees are only served in 12 oz. sizes and priced like 16 oz. However, I’m not from San Diego so my context is based on my Oregon roots. The coffee at first taste was perfect. Drinking your way to the bottom you will find the drinks balance between bitter creamy and sweet sways far closer to the sweet side as you reach the bottom. 1 of the 2 servers wasn’t super friendly. Service was slow. 3 minutes per coffee. So if you 5 cups back in the line your waiting 15+ minutes after ordering. Love u a latte = 4⁄5 based on personal exposure to other mochas. Coconut Caramel latte = 3⁄5 fantastic at first but the drink lost its luster as I worked my way to the bottom of the cup.

After a day walking around Balboa Park, I drove down to Little Italy to try out Heartsleeves Coffee. It just had such a cute look; I had to go there. I ordered a hot chai latte and chatted with the really cute barista for a little. She said they’re been open for only about 6 and a half months. She sprinkled some cinnamon on my chai, and I was on my way. My drink wasn’t too sweet like some places’ chais tend to be. It was good. When I’m in San Diego again I’ll definitely stop in.

Love this place! Just tried it out. I love the atmosphere, the style and the feel. The coffee is great here. You can’t go wrong. The very helpful kind woman made our coffee delicious. I didn’t get her name, but be sure to visit this place if you like coffee even a little. You won’t be disappointed.

lovely little place(hidden, quiet, charming location), perfect espresso, good pastries, friendly service. Simply the best place if I am in the area, too bad the parking is tough.

Cute, quaint, charming, and did I mention the coffee is yummy! Went for my first time last weekend and heartily enjoyed the iced Bee Loved latte! Did take a min to get our drinks but can’t blame them with only one barista working a busy Sunday. Will definitely«bee» coming back! Lol, couldn’t resist!

While shopping at the amazing Love & Aesthetics, I discovered this shop for the first time a few months back. Was happy they served Swell, which is a decent local roaster. Much to my sadness, the coffee was not that great. Nice enough staff, but was not a fan of anything I tried my last couple visits. I even did a little Italy crawl with a couple friends and hit up Bird Rock/James/Heartsleeves. Needless to say we were buzzing on coffee, but on our last stop, this was the disappointing finale. I tried my three visits and twice I couldn’t finish the coffee. Poorly steamed milk, super hot and under extracted shots, bummed me out on my last two visits. The first time I was in, the barista was super nice and really seemed to know what he was doing, but he doesn’t seem to work there anymore and his replacements have a looooong way to go. Not the worst I’ve had, but with so many incredible options in the immediate area, I don’t really have a reason to come back. Sorry, it’s just not for me.

Finally made it back since their recent name change. Same owner just a few minor changes. You des directly with the owner, who has a passion for what she does. Devils dozen donuts, swell coffee company expresso and iced coffee, fresh pastries, outdoor seating and it’s attached to Love and Aesthetics. My favorite coffee shop in Little Italy, now, go find it, you won’t be disappointed. 1, 2, 3GO

Brandi, the owner/operator, wrote me a sweet message. She let me know that the internet is shared with a shop next door, so they weren’t able to reset it while the shop is closed. They also have fixed the internet so that it works much more consistently. I love businesses owned by people who truly care like Brandi. And the space is really a wonderful place to grab a coffee, read a book, or meet a friend. Cute spot, friendly people.

I am from the northwest, where we are proud to be snobby about our coffee and this little hole in the wall café is the best coffee i have had in San Diego. This crew brews like they they were all raised in Seattle on the tail coats of some barista goddess. If you have not already, you really should try this place out. You will be hooked!

After enjoying lunch in Little Italy, my coworker and I stumbled across Heartsleeves Coffee in a little alcove just off the sidewalk. With a number of outdoor tables, the casual atmosphere is spruced up with a number of plants, flowers and other items that take you out of the hustle and bustle. After stepping into the tiny storefront, we were quickly greeted by the friendly barista. While the menu is minimalist, we settled on espresso and a cappuccino to give us the«pick me up» before returning to work. The barista told us to take a seat and she offered to bring us the coffees, which was a nice touch. We settled on some of the seats outside. With hipster patio type furniture, it is a good spot to catch a few rays before heading back indoors. Upon receiving our drinks, it was evident the freshness of the beans was evident to me. My only downside was not asking for the drink extra hot. Without a top on the cup the cool day quickly cooled off the cappuccino. A lesson learned for next time. Additionally, they do offer some local pastries, though by the afternoon the selection looked picked over, so it may be hit or miss. Overall, I will definitely return to this spot again to enjoy the wonderful reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the work week!

I stumbled upon this place on a Saturday morning as I was walking around Little Italy in San Diego. I was in the mood for iced coffee and this place has amazing cold brew. I ordered a «Love You A Latte» and it truly hit the spot. The colorful and cozy aesthetic of this place should not go unnoticed. I love this place and cannot wait to come back!

Such a great addition to Little Italy! This locally owned coffee shop is wonderful for a few reasons: 1. Adorable décor 2. FREE almond milk… that’s how I know I love a place 3. Little extras throughout the store including complimentary marshmallows, red vines, etc. 4.Very friendly service 5. One of the best cappuccinos I’ve ever had! Price point is great, and I had a great experience overall.

This is a great little coffee shop nestled between a handful of eclectic small business. It offers a welcoming small patio with benches, tables, and chairs scattered about. I ordered a English Breakfast Tea and a Raspberry Almond Torte, both came to $ 5. The tea was full bodied and somewhat earthy but very well made. It arrived piping hot and was perfect for sipping and went very well with the torte. That raspberry almond torte was fantastic. It was not your traditional torte, given it was more like a cookie, but I did not care because it was quite good. I say given be a dozen please. The raspberry topping was very flavorful and came with just the right amount of sweetness and the cookie, well that almond mixture made it right. It was simple delicious. The cookie also had a great texture. it was soft but with small amount of chewiness inside that made for some interesting eating. The owner ad barista was very sweet and as friendly as they come. The place offers free Wi-Fi and a restroom. This a great place to stop in before getting your day started because it will put a smile on your face.
