The one night I decided to come out and I had my friend order me a drink he got me the wrong drink. I approached the bartender to inform him of the mistake. He bickered with me as if I was an intoxicated adolescent. Sad to say the lack of customer service was such a turnoff even though I had a full drink that was entirely untouched. His name was Chris.

Great Bar! Not as expensive as the other bars around it. They make the drinks strong, have good music and wonderful drag queens.

This place is awesome when it’s not too crowded. You have to work your way through to what feels like a swarm of people, everywhere! Sounds like gay heaven but in all reality, its an anxiety attack ready to happen. Prices are pretty decent and the service is quick. Bartenders are nice and efficient and get drinks out in speedy time.
They have television sets over the bar and the stage area. The music is good but it’s hard to dance when it’s packed like a can of sardines in there.

Looks like this is the place to go to chill with friends and have a few drinks, or pre game before clubbing and dancing. It was very packed when we went on a Friday night, even more packed when we walked by on Saturday night. Lots of people standing around in groups chattering. My kind of bar.
I love the laid back/​casual feeling of this bar. Drink prices are comparable to most places and the bartenders seem to be fairly quick. There’s a stage at the front on the side of the room. Doesn’t look like there’s much use for it, but I’m guessing there may be performances on other nights.
Only downside to the bar is the open patio. The inside of the bar pretty much smells like cigarette smoke because the doors are left open.
I’d recommend this place if you’re looking to grab a drink with some friends are visiting from out of town.

I love Flicks and I always come. Brian R. Is the worst bartender I’ve ever had in my life. He’s been rude to my friends and I twice. He has the worst attitude. I politely asked for a Mai Tai. He responded with «I just made her one, why don’t you drink hers?».

Came here last night with a bunch of great friends and we decided to show our Halloween spirit. as soon as we walked in, a bunch of the people in here were staring at us with almost a disgust look… why so pretentious people??? I can celebrate Halloween 2 days earlier… I don’t need anyone judging me and my friends…
Regardless, we stayed and had a drink… not even 15 min into it… a friend of mine got scorted out… the reason being is he wanted to take a photo leaning on the pool table. Sadly, the security here are also pretty lame and told him he couldnt… over a freaking photo that will last 15 seconds…
As we were exiting out, one of the Security guy had the audacity to say bye in a sarcastic tone… wtf? Seriously, this place sucks…
So me and my friends of 15 people took our business somewhere else… that’s what u get flicks, u obviosuly don’t care much about business that it didn’t matter to u that u lost 15 people…
I WOULD NEVER COME HERE AGAIN AND I WILL MAKE SURE A LOT OF MY FRIENDS WON’T EITHER AND WE WILL TELL ALL OUR OTHER FRIENDS…

An older security dude named Mark O’ Brien turned me away on friday night from entering the bar for «appearing too drunk.» I explained how i was following the crosswalk sign on the way to the bar to disprove his theory, but he didn’t bother to hear it and shunned me anyway, for everyone to watch. My friends had to leave as soon they got in because of him. Not only that, when I refused to let this ‘profiling’ slide, my friend called me overdramatic and ditched me for the rest of the night, and out of his life.
So thank you so much Mark O’ Brien. I hope you get age profiled somewhere in your life. That’s happening pretty much anytime now.

Giving an extra star. Haven’t had credit card issue again. And owner and Amex fixed issue.

Went on a date here back in April of 2010. It was on one of their welfare Wednesdays where well drinks are just $ 2. I thought it was going to be a quiet laid back lounge. It was more like a gay dive bar. There was still thumpa-​thumpa music blasting so loud they had to use the audio description for the hearing impaired on the TV’s. They had American Idol on for a while, which I absolutely despise! I couldn’t wait for them to put South Park on.
At the bar, I asked for a virgin lemon daiquiri. The bartender said they don’t do virgin drinks. How hard is it to make that?! Take some lemonade and ice and blend it up. When I refused to have a drink he then made an exception. Except he gave me a plain iced lemonade instead.
Later when the cheap well drinks started, I asked for a sex on the beach without vodka because I was driving and wanted to be responsible. Hence wanting the virgin daiquiri. I was still charged full price for it while my date got his tequila sunrise for $ 2. I felt the bartender wasn’t giving me equal treatment while he gave the preferential kind to others, like my date. I certainly didn’t tip him for that kind of service. Needless to say, I’ve never gone back to this place since then.

After 1130 it gets soon packed !! barely can move but drinks are cheap & really good keeps me happy I try to stay near the bar.

$ 2 Weds… I can get messed up for under $ 10! They have $ 4 on Fridays too… pretty good deal on drinks in my opinion, and they make them pretty strong… at least strong in my opinion. I usually get drunk after 4 or 5 drinks. The crowd here is usually pretty good and the bartenders don’t ignore you like at other bars. They are usually playing decent music too. Overall, one of the better gay bars in San Diego. Also, no cover like the other bars. Good place to just chill and get drunk on the cheap.

Let’s just say if you are a straight girl looking to dance with your gay bff this is not the place to go.
This bar was filled to the brim. Could barely make my way to the bar let alone dance.
Boys would give my friend and I dirty looks when we tried to move anywhere.
It was a total meat market there to be seen kind of place.
We decided to take off and dance at Gossip, so much more fun.

Alright Alright… I can’t deny it! I had a great time in this bar. Security guard was just totally amazing when I walked in and once I told him I was ready to let my hair down & have a great time, he informed me that I was in the right place!
I was in San Diego for the weekend and had heard about how crackin this bar was. I came on a Friday and it was PACKED HOUSE! From the outside patio to inside it was standing ovation. Music was off the chain and everyone was dancing having a great time. I even found myself being pulled around to dance and at some point I even got on the stage to dance! OMG! HAHA.
Bartenders are all nice! They seem to have special deals for each day of the week:

Saturday: Open: Noon Underwear Contest at night! New low prices on all drinks!
As you can see the BEST nights are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. If you like Beer then Sunday is great all day!
Flicks, you totally introduced me to something new! I was totally digging the swag in this peace! I couldn’t go wrong with strong cheap drinks! I have to admit yall live life to the FULLEST in here! I will make sure to make a special visit when in the area!

Decent place… was pretty chill during a Monday… but it’s Monday!
We were in the neighborhood so we thought «why not?»
They had a special for your first drink and the crowd seemed fun enough.
I’m curious how this place would be during their peak times.

This is one of my favorite place to get drinks if it’s one of those hillcrest bar crawl nights. Drinks are cheap, strong, and the atmosphere is really great. I really like the outside patio if you want to escape the loud music and small dance floor. It also makes for some great people-​watching on the streets. The main draw for me was just how cheap the drinks are. Maybe I’m just used to the downtown prices, but if I can get three cocktails for around $ 20 I’m happy! Love this place and the vibe.

I’ve been here twice, the place is generally friendly the bartenders are cool as well as the staff.
The drinks are fine.
It’s kinda bright at flicks for being a bar. and no one really dances. A tad bit small as well.

This is the worst bar ever. A fight broke out in the bathroom and a guy tried to cut me off. The security guard shoved me. I’ve been here a million times and it’s always a terrible time. The people are very rude.

One of the most casual, laid back bars in town. Cheap and strong drinks, friendly bartenders and crowd, I really like this place. This is a gay/​lesbian bar, just in case you are still in doubt.
Best nights are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Sundays are good all afternoon.

Great music and plenty of space at this bar /​/​restaurant. The drinks weren’t too bad either. Karaōke night (Tuesday) was good too. I am usually never found any where near karaōke generally I find it painful. I can say by far best singers I’ve ever heard frequent this bar. The bar was busy and full
Of happy friendly beautiful people. The pool table gave others who don’t sing (like me) an opportunity to still have fun. The out door patio area is always an added bonus when the weather is as nice as it was when I was there.

A fun bar with a great crowd of good looking guys, They have a nice happy hour early evening then it goes quiet then around 9pm the place is full, Its a fun bar with very hot bar tenders and recent pop music videos being played on the screens around the bar, they also have a little patio on the front. Great atmosphere, great crowd!
