The punk-​rock baristas play the most annoying music possible, but it’s a cyber café so it’s cool if you put on your headphones and listen to your own stuff.
I think it’s funny that cyber cafes still exist, but apparently there’s still a high demand for them – especially at the beach where people are too busy surfing, playing beach volleyball and bleaching their hair to buy a computer.
When I was there just a few weeks ago, the computer room was packed with people renting out PCs to check their email. I hung out with my fellow laptoppers and ordered a vegetable panini – it was pretty good – and an Italian soda, which didn’t actually exist. One of the punk-​rock baristas looked at me funny when I asked for the Italian soda. Apparently, they don’t have Italian sodas, which I think is weird. Coffee shops already have the flavor syrup, all they have to do is buy some darn Peligrino!
