Took me so long to try 99 cups. My experience was pleasant and satisfying. I live in the area and went in around 11am so there was no heavy traffic. Cappuccino was delicious, a small one was around 3 $. Ordered the veggie omelette– came with toast and I added bacon and sausage for 1 $ extra for each. Also got the chorizo breakfast tacos. They had quite a Kick to it! My mouth was on fire, and I don’t eat spicy things to begin with so it woke me up real quick. Large fresh squeezed orange juice 5 $. If I’m not lazy I would definitely come in more often.

$ 3.00 for a small iced coffee is outrageous. Never going back. As a matter of fact I don’t even walk on the same side of that STREET any longer because of the price of a small iced coffee. They ruined an entire side of a street! Who does that?! By the way, my 3 dollar iced coffee was gone in 3 sips. I’m not claiming to be Stephen Hawking or anything but by my calculations that a dollar per sip. I may just be bitter because there used to be an amazing Brazilian Acai place there and that woman just vanished without a trace. Like a deadbeat dad who’s like«hey I’m just going out for some milk» and never returns. No one can fill a void like that.

Great food. Brekke tacos are the way to go. Also I’m a huge fan of the Chuck Norris. The new expansion is nice and the WSJ is always available to read.

I would have given this place 5 stars, if it weren’t for the obnoxious tip suggestion on their ipad, when I paid. It suggested 25%, 30%. Seriously? How ridiculous. And if I wanted to give a standard 18%, I had to manuever through the screens on the ipad. And how about my paying the tip before I even get served? And having the waitress/barrista standing there, waiting for my signature and tip amount. Note to self: only pay cash when going here. And yeah, the food and coffee are good here. Not sure I’m returning, however.

Great food, fantastic Tea, amazing croissants from Bread and Cie, my favorite so please leave me one. I usually get the eggs on a Croissant and swap the meat for veggies, delicious and fairly filling, but get a side of breakfast potatoes if you are really hungry!

I love this place. It’s a great stop on our way to the beach. I get the breakfast sandwich with bacon, scrambled eggs, and a croissant! The cold brew is also delicious! It’s also fun that it’s a dog friendly spot!

In terms of coffee, I felt it was an average cup. I had the iced coffee, nothing spectacular… But it’s hard to find coffee that I think is. I added cream, sugar, and cinnamon to it which made it more to my liking. Customer service was very friendly and parking in the early afternoon on a week day wasn’t terrible. I grabbed a cup and took a walk around PB, so I didn’t notice the games mentioned in some other reviews. Perhaps if I grab a bite the next time, an additional star can be added to the review?

I walked by and drove by this place a dozen times and finally decided to try this place on my way out of town. Ordered a croissant sandwich and coffee. That croissant was so awesome– buttery, flakey and soft. I wasn’t a fan of the avocado spread(tastes like store bought which has weird sour tasting preservatives that I detest) but the rest of the Sammie was good. They’re pretty busy on a sat, but was able to get my food asap. There are a few outdoor tables and I’ll plan on coming back for more to enjoy the sunshine and PB scene.

Breakfast sandwiches are excellent. I have had the egg croissant, which comes with the biggest juiciest piece of sausage ever! Also had an egg burrito, which was yummy. A little pricey but the portions are big and they make it fresh. I like that I can watch my breakfast being cooked, I’d say it takes about 8 – 10 mins for your breakfast treat to be made but it is worth it, hot, fresh and delish. Yummy!

Randomly walked in here after grabbing brunch. I was really pleasantly surprised! I love the atmosphere of place the most. Very calming, homey, not as crowded on a Sunday afternoon like Starbucks. They have a bunch of vintage games which I really liked. They’re the type of games you’d find thrifting and have absolutely no idea how to play. Super fun! They have basic games too like chess and checkers if you’re into that. There’s not really a designated parking lot and street parking can be a pain. DRINKS: Friend ordered an iced caramel cappuccino and I ordered hot chocolate(I don’t drink coffee… HAHAHAHA). She really liked it but said it was on the sweet side. My hot chocolate tasted like hot chocolate. Nothing really spectacular. Haha I gave this place 5 stars because the drinks were good and were at a good place. But mostly, this is a really cool, chill place to hang out with friends.

I would def come back if this wasn’t our last day. The menu on the wall though is very simple, but at the cash register is a more extensive menu that had some pretty yummy sounding dishes. I had bacon egg n cheese tacos(3), good but instead of the 3, they could’ve doubled the taco filling and just had 2… or either add a bit more to each taco. I don’t like half full/half empty shells! The chocolate muffin was on the dry side. The bagels are picked up fresh everyday from another local bakery. I got an americano, added cream, honey and cinnamon and it was great. Parking was easy at 9:30. Staff was friendly.

Yes yes yes! Everything I look for in a coffee shop! Craft yummy coffee prepared the way it should be. Got a pour over and watched as the barista spend probably 5 minutes carefully making it. So awesome how they actually care about the process of brewing a great cup of coffee. Also got an almond milk latte! Very tasty! While I did not try the blueberry muffin my boyfriend said it was one of the best he has every had! So give their baked goods a try too! Really good vibes and a lot of places to sit indoors and outdoors.

I’m amazed that it took me this long to give 99 cups 5 stars. 99 cups came into the neighborhood in the fall of 2014. I remember thinking«another coffee shop?». Despite, I walked in and was greeted by a warm smile from the staff. The owner is very sweet and always appears calm despite how busy they get. We are now approaching summer of 2016 and 99 cups has now expanded! Yay! I kept attempting to come up with a theme song, but it hasn’t happen yet… «I got 99 cups but a… ain’t one?» The coffee is good– I usually go for the non-fat latte or their iced coffee. Both are delicious and it’s the best quality in the PB area. They now serve bfast and lunch and various pastries which we haven’t tried yet but looking forward to it. If you are in the neighborhood definitely pay 99 cups a visit.

Very good food and super kind staff! Everyone that works there is friendly! Great customer service! I had to update my review since my last visit. Unfortunately, the place was not as clean as I had hoped. It seems they now serve breakfast for dogs. Which is a nice idea for dog lovers. However, they prepare the dog food in the same exact place as the regular food. That’s right dog bowls right next all of the other plates. It seemed very odd. The girl that was preparing and touching the dog food immediately arranged my French Toast without wearing gloves. I hope they will make some changes because the service and food is typically pretty good!

First timer and go with the high rating. Had ordered omelette, pancake, Expresso and Latte. Omelette is good. Expresso and Latte are great. Only problem is the banana pancake which is badly burned. I sure the cook could see that but he still put them in the box. Since it was take out order, couldn’t go back for 2 pieces of pancake. If not for the pancake, I sure I will ever back… now? Kind of not sure.

I like em bold, black, and robust, and I’m not just talking about my men. I’m talking coffee ladies and gents. Their Americano is nothing short of dazzling. The first sip really takes me from a deep dark depressing place to a slightly less depressing hole of life. The second sip opens my eyes to see the light. The third sip, I can finally exist among other humans at the disgusting hour of 6:30am. I am alive! I’m sorry but their breakfast sammy’s are real bad in my opinion. I feel awful for saying that because I’m a regular and they’re totally going to know it’s me that wrote this but I made one promise to my turtle Leonardo when he passed away last month, and that was to tell the truth. And the truth is, breakfast sammys are NOT their thing. The lunch sammy was pretty good though! I’ll give em that! How annoying is the word sammy geting btw? Go get yourself some coffee, the staff is really nice AND they honor the 5 Star App which means… FREECOFFEE!!!

Wow! I’ve been wanting to try this place for months and I’m so happy I finally did. I tried the Bananas in Pajamas +3 shots and it was super yummy! I can’t wait to go back and try the food. Everything that was coming out of the kitchen looked delicious ! A+ to the glorious staff that made my morning better.

Great tasting lattes every time, and cheerful and happy service! It is clear that the staff and owners care about their customers. They know many people by name as they come in to place an order. It’s a great place to get work done. It’s a happy atmosphere with clean facilities.

Great, local coffee shop. I live in Seattle and have had good coffee. This place meets or exceeds the coffee I’ve had! It has a great taste, without being bitter. We also had breakfast there and were very satisfied. I only wish this place existed when I still lived in PB!

Great espresso, yummy food(fresh and healthy), and always such friendly service! This has been a great find and has become my new favorite coffee shop in SD. Good quality espresso and well made drinks can be hard to find in SD, but this has replaced my previous go-to coffee shops in Little Italy(where they have great coffee but deplorable! parking). Parking is always easy here and having great lunches AND coffee is super convenient and awesome!

Great coffee place with barristas who know how to brew a good cup. My only complaint is $ 3.5 for a cortado(fits in an espresso cup) is a bit steep in my opinion. Service is friendly and the windows are large making for a well lit shop. Looking forward to trying breakfast there soon.

Given its high reviews on Unilocal,I was hoping to enjoy 99 Cups of Coffee more than I did. Perhaps I ordered the wrong sandwich. I debated between the Chicken Besto and the Chicken Club and chose the latter so that my two dogs could eat the bacon as a snack. Although I ordered the bacon on the side(because I don’t eat pork), it arrived on the sandwich. The rest of the sandwich contained chicken, avocado, lettuce, tomato and mayo piled between three slices of bread. It was a huge sandwich and there was no way that I could finish it in one sitting. In fact, I barely finished half of it. I should have considered this before I ordered because day-old avocado is no good and I ended up tossing the rest of the sandwich. My friend ordered the Chicken Besto, which is served on ciabatta, and looked much more manageable to eat. However, we both agreed that the chicken was somewhat dry and we needed more condiments to add flavor. My friend did rave about her coffee drink but I can’t recall which one she ordered. While 99 Cups of Coffee does have outdoor seating, it’s located directly on the sidewalk and not on a patio.

I rarely go to coffee shops because they usually have a terrible food selection(and I don’t drink coffee) so I was very pleasantly surprised by 99 cup’s pastry + sandwiches. I got the blackberry banana muffin and the chicken & brie sandwich — which were both delicious and well-priced. As for the drinks, I got a chai latte which was perfectly sweet and foamy. My husband got a pour over coffee which he said was good too. Service was great and pretty fast considering how busy it got. I’m assuming it’ll get even better when the other half of the shop opens at the end of the month. Also, it was nice to find a coffee place with a nice, clean bathroom.

I literally just walked out of this place and felt compelled to write a review. My second time here and this visit was even better than the first. I love that you can customize your coffee order so easily here. The options of different sweeteners(stevia, honey, syrups) and non-dairy milk(soy, almond, coconut) is always a bonus. Today I went with a dirty chai latte with almond milk. It is perfect. The espresso isn’t burnt at all, really smooth, just the right amount of sweetness(for me at least). Friendly baristas, awesome place. I’ll be back again soon!

I ordered the blackened turkey with avocado on bacon bread and Vermont aged cheddar cheese. Both the sandwich and coffee… out if this world! I asked to save room for cream in my iced coffee, but after a sip I realized having it black was perfect.

I have a thing for small coffee shops and love trying out the various ones throughout San Diego. My bf and I popped into this one after our hot yoga class this morning and really enjoyed the quaint atmosphere. The shop itself is adorable and is decorated with lots of wood, barrels, and vintage-y accents. It’s pretty small inside, which actually adds to its charm, but they still managed to fit a 4 person table inside along with bar seating along the window. There is also outdoor seating along the sidewalk. As for the coffee, I believe that they use Virtuoso beans, so it was robust and smooth just how we like it. We both just got regular coffees, so I haven’t had the opportunity to try the other 98 cups of coffee, but I’m sure they’re just as good. My only qualm was that they didn’t have stevia, which is my sweetener of choice. Only chemical-laden packets and syrups, hence the one star deduction.

Cam and I are regulars at 99 Cups of Coffee due to their close proximity to our apartment and quick cup of coffee that is available when we’re rushing out to work. The staff is super friendly and even remembers our orders. Small French Roast for me, Double Cappuccino with whole milk for Cam. The prices are extremely fair — a small coffee is only $ 1.50. The chocolate croissant here is also awesome. The inside of the shop is a bit small, but Cam and I have never stayed here, so I can’t comment on this too much, other than the fact that it gets crowded really quickly if there are a lot of customers coming in at the same time.

I really love independently owned coffee shops that do their research and provide a great product. That being said, I had them make me a medium Americano with touch of room for some Almond milk and to satisfy my munchies, I enjoyed an almond croissant provided by the French Gourmet just up the street: a good choice on their part for carrying such good pastries( ). The Americano was bliss, with its rich and robust flavor. It was also very smooth with absolutely no hint of bitterness nor sourness. The espresso beans where from Café Virtuoso located right here in San Diego. The Almond croissant was equally as good. It came with a good amount of slivered almonds on top and had a great glistening glaze( ). After breaking through the flaky crust, the inside was buttery and soft with a mild sweet and almond paste( ). A great almond croissant paired with a great espresso. The owner is not only informative, but also quite friendly and hospitable. He pretty much runs the shop himself but recently has acquired some employees to help out. Great addition to the Pacific Beach community. They offer free WiFi and comfortable seating inside.
