We are vegetarians and ordered food with out bacon. Everything came with bacon when we sent it back we were asked for a receipt which was not given to us, as if we did not purchase it here??? Really not impressed with their service! Don’t recommend it!

I have always been a fan of Corner Bakery. My long time favorite is the half-Panini/cup of soup combo. My favorite soup is their Loaded Baked Potato, but their Broccoli Cheese is also great. My go to Panini is the club Panini & I’ve always liked that the meal comes with a bag of their chips that pair nicely with the soup. Service is always quick & my food is always good! I will continue to be a loyal customer.

Stopped by to get my Free Birthday Treat(for joining their rewards club you get your choice of any of their baked sweets). You don’t have to purchase anything and the nice employee didn’t give me any issues and even wished me a Happy Birthday! Got a Monster Cookie which was delicious! Soft, super chewy and fresh. Its a nice, darker dough than your traditional white sugar cookie type dough and there are real mini M&Ms and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Not sure it is worth the regular price of $ 1.89, but I’m not sure what the going rate for these types of cookies at other places is. I also purchased a coffee. The usually delicious Hazelnut Crème coffee was super dark, tasteless and very bitter today. So disappointing, I couldn’t drink it. Luckily, its self-serve and there are free refills, so I subbed it with a Decaf brew which was pretty good, but not fabulous. The traffic/parking at the UTC Westfield Mall is always an issue. I don’t get how this place is always busy, no matter the time or day! Luckily, parking near the bakery isn’t too bad, since its not in a very popular part of the mall I guess.

I’d say that most people know what to expect out of corner bakery. Being a pretty popular restaurant almost everyone is been at least once. For this particular location I have a specific problem. The parking! I can’t really complain and it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the parking in a mall would be ridiculous. If you’re coming at anything but a prime time during the day you shouldn’t have a problem finding any. But Lord help you if you do come at a bad time. Overall the food was good although I do believe that corner bakery can be spotty sometimes. My experience was good, the parking was not. Their specials always rock. Grubs up.

Similar to Panera. It was muggy & hot when I stepped inside… Good thing there was an outdoor patio. Food is decent & pricey. Signature Sandwich Combo: Chicken Pomodori on Sourdough = Roasted chicken, basil, spinach, tomatoes, provolone cheese, & pesto mayo — Delicious panini, the pesto mayo was fabulous. Mac N Cheese — Breaded crumbs on top. Very bland. Chips Chocolate Chip Toffee Cookie — So good! However, as I was leaving the store, I noticed flies in the dessert case…

Sandwich was just okay, at least edible. Salads were ordinary. The coffee was brown water and the pasta was a disaster. When I told the cashier that the pasta was bad and it had NO taste. She just said I am sorry. I expected a return of money or offer of replacement of the pasta. CB should stand behind every product and in this case they cared less.

The 3 stars are for my order. It was tasteless so needed pepper and salt which I hardly ever put on my food. I should’ve just stuck with what I usually get. Besides that, I like corner bakery

Conveniently located at northwest corner of Sears in La Jolla UTC Shopping Mall. Very clean and updated décor. Nice enough to have a professional meeting but at the same time a casual place to sit down and grab a bite. I was here round 8am on a Friday and was not crowded, however this place probably gets crowded and loud during lunch time. Food service and follow up was excellent though you do get and refill your own drinks at soda fountain. As for the food I came here for breakfast so my review is for that only. Overall the food was good. I had scrambled eggs pancakes smoked bacon and potatoes. Pancakes and potatoes were really good. Minus a star cause I usually rather have sunny side eggs or omelette which they didn’t offer. Overall better than Panera.

The food is really good, no question about that. However, it can get super busy around lunchtime(obvious yes, but it can be VERY competitive just to get a table and no one wants to order food and have nowhere to eat it). And parking in the garage is a disaster, especially at peak hours. I don’t want to work for my food. And between fighting for parking and fighting for a table, I feel like I deserve a medal by the time I get to eat.

I’ve been a fan of corner bakery ever since I was growing up. Having one in UTC near UCSD is a plus because it makes me feel at home. The food here is up to par with all the corner bakeries I’ve been to. The coffees are so rich and flavorful, I most always go for the hazelnut one. I like getting corner combos to be able to get a little of everything, but its so hard because I love soup, salad, pasta and paninis and NEVER Know how to just pick two. There’s nothing more I want to say about the food than what’s said in the other 4 star reviews but I love this place because I get suck great service here. There is never a time I’m not greeted well, they’ve never got my order wrong, and every employee is happy to help. I’ve asked for things like splitting my order into two plates, many to-go boxes, changing some ingredients in my sandwich, and nothing has gone wrong. As I’m sitting down eating there is always someone walking around to ask if you need anything else. I didn’t even know I needed hot sauce until a worker asked me if I would want some and she brought it. I felt bad because I realized the hot sauce was at the bar near the coffees, but she got it for me anyway knowing that it would make my meal better. I love this place!

Came here today to get my fave Iced Mocha Truffle. This review is mainly for the service. The cashier wasn’t paying attention when i placed my order. I had to repeat myself three times and told her that i want an iced drink. Lo and behold, the server gave me a hot drink. So i said, i ordered the iced mocha truffle. The server went back to the kit hen got me a new iced mocha truffle — milk was overflowing, the cup wasn’t even wiped just plain MESSY! Then my other friend ordered the same thing… the server was so apologetic and got me a new cup(see pictures below). This is corner bakery… at least provide some good customer service, presenting your product to customers in a not so presentable manner i think is not acceptable.

Linguini with meatballs were very good, however only two meatballs with enough pasta for two. Lemon bar was horrible, was missing any flavor of lemon, tasted more like something left uncovered in the refrigerator. Had to return it.

Solid 3 stars. I visit this location quite often since it’s convenient and the food is pretty good. 9⁄10 times, the service is good, however this last experience was a real bummer. The cashier that took my order was extremely rude and seemed like she didn’t even want to be there. Usually, when you’re waiting in line, the cashier yells out«I can help the next guest» or something of that nature. Nope, our cashier looked at me and said«Do you know what you want to order?» Usually no big deal, but I noticed she had no patience for the older lady in front of me and had already rolled her eyes at that customer. After I gave her my order, she did not read it back. She saw me grab my wallet and stuck her hand out over the ledge to grab my card from my hand without announcing the total. I then asked if I could add a soda and she let out a big sigh as she responded«.uh yeah.» Not cool. Retrain your staff or have the managers on the floor making sure employees are treating customers well.

I have been to many Corner Bakery Café locations before and do like their food and coffee. However, this particular location is not as good as others. I stopped by for their breakfast and ordered Farmer’s Scramble and added sausage. I like the option that you can make your own scramble there. However, the scramble was very disappointing. The food felt like it was not prepared with any attention and just threw everything into the pan. It was under seasoned and served warm. I am confident that I would do it better at home myself. It was a very disappointing breakfast. The baked potatoes were also under seasoned and poorly cooked. There are plenty of other restaurants can make scramble way better than this place.

this is probably the best location. Friendliest staff makes my dining an enjoyment. Every week when I stop by for a meeting in the area i swing by the place for their pasta!

This review is solely for their CATERING services In the past year and a half my work has used Corner Bakery three times for their catering services and here’s a breakdown of those experiences. 10 months ago, ordered their sandwich basket for our lab.(2 stars) Everything we very self explanatory online so we had our decisions and called everything in. However, the problem came up when it came time to pick up the order. Because we were on a budget, we decided to opt for local pick up and expressed this over the phone. So when we showed up at the specified time, we were told that the food had already been delivered and we were charged the delivery fee. WHAAAAT?!(Zero star! I thought to myself). We freaked out and told the manager exactly why that’s a problem and she was nice enough to reimburse us the $ 7 charge. This was still a bit of a problem bc this meant she was going to refund the $ to my boss’ card and charge one of us(poor lab researchers)… Quite annoying to say the least 6 months ago, ordered their large pasta combo(4 stars) Same thing, everything was pretty self explanatory on the catering menu and we ordered the things over the phone. I wasn’t there for the pick up or set up of this order but from what I understand there weren’t any issues. This past week, ordered their lg pasta combo(1 star) 1) their menu changed(because they used to have more pasta options for the catering menu) The updated on only has Pesto Cavatappi and this Chicken Pasta dish. We assumed the Pesto Cavatappi was a vegetarian dish… but please beware, there’s chicken in here! 2) when i showed up to pick up the item, things were very awkward. I told they who i was and they just left me hanging out by the cash register for awhile, people were walking past me to order their items. I really would’ve appreciated it if someone were to just say«you can sit off to the side and they’ll be right with you.» 3) they forgot one of the items that we ordered! I had to call back and make sure they don’t charge us for that item. so not cool That said, all of my bad experience was with their customer service. The food however was actually quite good.(pasta was delicious, salads are filling, and sandwiches were well made) Thus bumping it back to 3 stars.

I was pleasantly surprised by this café! I always pass by when shopping at UTC and decided to finally give it a try. This place reminds me of Panera, except with a bigger selection and much better food. I ordered the chicken carbonara and my buddy ordered the applewood bacon power Panini. We were both pickin’ off each other’s plates! The pasta was PERFECTLY seasoned(this is coming from a girl who always adds salt to pasta dishes as she’s eating) and they were really generous with the peas(my fave) and bacon. The dish comes with a piece of garlic bread with nice grill marks which was delicious as well. The applewood bacon power Panini was really filling for a small sandwich! They didn’t skimp on the bacon, and the Panini wasn’t too egg-y like a lot of other breakfast sandwiches tend to be. Their lemonade was also really yummy! Tasted almost exactly like Chick-fil-As! Our food was out in less than 5 minutes — we were so amazed at how quick their service was. I’ll definitely be back — this is a great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch.

I love Corner Bakery Café, this restaurant is a mix of Panera, Boudin’s, and Nordstrom café wrapped into one. Great lunch spot! Location: UTC Mall off La Jolla Village Dr by Seasons 52 and Sears MEAL– Panini Sandwich: California Grille on Harvest Bread(A vegetarian mixture of grilled zucchini, marinated artichoke hearts, roasted tomatoes and pesto with fresh spinach and provolone cheese.) & Mac & Three Cheese(Pipette pasta tossed with a blend of three cheeses, topped with toasted bread crumbs) This place was fairly busy usual lunch rush, but was able to get seating. It was my first time and it is a very cute café inside and outdoor patio seating. I sat at the table hightop which had 3 chairs, which has a see-thru wall design facing the entrance with holes. The flavors of the panini sandwich I ordered were yummy! So glad I ordered the veggie sandwich it was everything I wanted and more. The crumbs on top of the cheese melted great when I dove right into my mac and cheese so creamy, cheesey, and good! Enjoy the yummy goodness at Corner Bakery Café(:
