The morning staff is awesome. The coffee is better than any of the other competitors in the area. Rico and Priscilla make a great team and make you feel at home.

Before they opened at this location, I had never heard about Coffee Bean. Now, I frequent this place way more than I ever did Starbucks. Granted, it’s right next to where I work lol, but even if there was a Starbucks right in front of us I would still choose Coffee Bean. The employees are awesome, they always give great recommendations, and they always welcome you with a smile. And of course, their drinks are delicious! What won me over is that I always ask for my drinks to be made with soymilk, at Starbucks it would always disappoint me how watery and flavorless the drinks would be when made with soymilk… but at Coffee Bean they’re always, ALWAYS, very creamy and delicious. I don’t know how they do it but keep doing what you’re doing!

More communication would have been nice. They should have explain that the coffee we ordered needed to be brewed. We waited 15 minutes for coffee.

I go to Baja California several times throughout the year, as I have friends that live there and I’m involved in philanthropy. Getting into Mexico is not a hassle, as I know my way around the parking situation at the border. However, I’ve been in need of a good coffee spot for a pick-me-up as I go to or come from Tijuana. This Coffee Bean location fills that need. It is a new location, build just north of the border in San Ysidro. There is a shopping center here, but I’ve never actually shopped here. The coffee here is a good as their other locations. Patrons are locals and people who cross the border regularly. I’ve seen families, students posting to do homework, and transients come through here. No disagreeable characters, just people doing their thing. Their restrooms are around the corner within the plaza. Both the store and the restrooms are well maintained. The customer service is on point, and I will be back here often as I conduct business on the other side of the border.

I went during Black Friday with my family to grab a drink and escape the rain for a bit. One of the baristas, Erika(one with the nose piercing), began changing the trash can right next to us. She was soooo obnoxious about the way she was taking out the trash; she slammed the trash bag on the ground and slammed the trash bin so loudly that it startled us. She did this twice. Look, I get it that it sucks working on Black Friday and maybe she was having a terrible day, but that’s no excuse to be slamming things so close to a customer(it was literally a foot away from my dad). It was completely rude and uncalled for. Very unprofessional. Get a better attitude or just get a new job completely if you don’t know proper customer service etiquette. Oh and even though we bought drinks, another barista came up to us and said that because Coffee Bean was a non-Kosher place(wtf), they do not allow outside food(my cousin had bought food across the way from Panda Express). Never ever had I ever heard that rule and other people were eating outside foods. Oh he used«non-Kosher» incorrectly. Read up bro. My advice? Go to Starbucks, even if it’s on the other side of the outlets. Way better service.

As a barista, sometimes it’s nice going to different places other than you’re job for some coffee. Especially on you’re days off. My sister and I were shopping and decided to stop by. Her drink tasted pretty weird and she didn’t wanna say anything. I took it to the barista and asked if we can get something else. I was willing to pay the difference. He tried telling me he could only remake the exact drink. When I asked for a refund he decided he would just make me a different drink. He was checking the prices to charge me the difference. When he realized my sisters new drink would be cheaper he walked away to make it. I had to ask him for my money that he owed me. I wouldn’t have made a big deal for the money he owed me if he wasn’t so rude. The fact he was trying to charge me the difference but realized he owed me and played dumb, pissed me off. On top of that he got pissed when he had to remake the drink after using regular milk when I had ordered soy. My sister is vegan and I even explained it to him which I shouldn’t have had to. Better off going to Starbucks in the same area, where the baristas seem to be happy and helpful even though they’re always busy and slammed!

It’s always been a good place to have coffee. Quiet with a good scenery(right across the Mexican border). Overall a nice place! So today wasn’t a good day bc my cashier forgot my order, not only forgot it but gave us a diff drink and had to wait for a good 20 minutes! The lady barista(short hair, wearing eyeglasses) was not even sorry I could hear her saying, «why are u not taking the drink?» Hello! it’s a wrong drink and you ddnt even bother to ask me why I was standing too long. They did give me my drink but it took awhile! Might still come back but will make sure my drink is prepared, on time

So today wasn’t a good day bc my cashier today forgot our order, not only forgot it but gave us a diff drink and had to wait for a good 20 minutes! The barista specifically the lady(who has a short hair, wearing eyeglasses) was not even sorry at all, her voice was as if close to getting mad like, I can already hear her saying, «why are u not taking the drink?» Hello it’s a wrong drink and you ddnt even bother to ask me why I was standing too long. Not coming back bc of you, lady! Boo! Will go to Starbucks instead where customer service is not as bad as you!

Cashier was really nice and helpful. Enjoy the scenery as it is not crowded like Starbucks. Love the coffee too. Definitely glad we have one near home other than Hawaii… lol!

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Been here several times and never been disappointed. I’ve tryed their espressos, mochas and lattes and all have been up to expectation. This is my new coffee hot spot that’s just around the corner.

I have been waiting for a Coffee Bean in my area to open. Coffee Bean isn’t like Starbucks that we all can find at every corner. How about a drive thru at The Coffee Bean?! I have never seen one. Well, in San Diego that is!

Nice place to study! I love the feel of the place, ceiling is high and walls are prettty much windows making it feel spacious. Plus the natural light is great for studying. I like a lot of their drinks but as of recent I can’t get enough of the Vanilla Iced coffee! The wifi is fast, the tables are so cute and comfortable… I just love it !
