Excellent place! We are on a road trip and this is a great place to come check out a soccer game. Big screen tvs. Is not full but it’s a weekday… very clean and fresh! Might even get to see the train pass by. Big fans for this heat. Good price beers…

Went here to check out a show and was pleasantly surprised by how nice this place is! First off they have a great selection of craft beers and the prices are very inexpensive. You can get your usual tall boys of PBR and Lonestar for $ 2 or some Ranger Creek/Busted Sandal brews for a little bit more, like I said not bad at all. The staff was friendly and attentive as well I must’ve been asked about 5 times if I was doing alright lol But that’s nice to have good attentive staff I ain’t complaining. Also not sure if it’s a regular thing but they had free chicken wings for the patrons, I had 10 because they were so good! And lastly the ladies room was very clean I’m talking immaculate. I was skeptical before going in but this place is good and I’ll be returning.

Luv the inside outside feeling. Cold beer, good locale. Will definitely come back. The only drawbacks were that the staff, the 2 guys behind the bar were not friendly at all, and that they never came around to check on us.. Also, my friends that will probably never come back, did not appreciate that if you are with a party of 6, you can only bring 2 beers at a time. They need buckets or a waitress. Any hoo, I enjoyed my first time.

There is no other thing more unifying or community affirming to any locale than a good bar. I always harken back to the one on «Cheers» where everyone knows your name and people no longer inhabit the place, but rather personalities. The Beer Depot, a spot hidden along the freeway near Southtown aims to do that just that. The beer is cheap, it has ample parking and seating with the feel of a trusty local bar. As I mentioned before it is located along an access road right behind the Piedras Negra De Noche Restaurant. My first impression of it is that it reminded me of an icehouse or a local sports bar. The parking lot itself provides more than enough spaces for cars, trucks, mopeds even an area designated for bike riders. This certainly implies that it is trying to reach out to Southtown dwellers and businesses, specifically to the population that work and lives around this location. The exterior has a rough and tumble feel like at any moment a band of bikers is gonna roll in. However, the interior is totally different. Stepping inside I noticed it was cozy, sleek and clean. There are high tables for seating and the lighting lends to the milieu here. On the sound system music is playing overhead at a level that you still can maintain a conversation at. In the front is a small area that serves drinks and you simply place your order. They sell your typical beer fare like Dos Equis, wine but carry a few notable craft beers by Texas Breweries. I settled on a beer, which was cheaply priced I might add and then decided to grab a seat outside to get a sense of it. All along the place there is plenty of seating for couples, groups or friends who just need a place to unwind after work. Outside as the case inside there are high tables, benches and even spots if you want to drink by yourself. On the otherside there is an area with even more seating with benches to match. My understanding is that they have live music, car shows, events etc. indoors and outdoors. I like the feel of the place it is laid back and the bartenders are really friendly and on top of it. However, I have a couple of critiques. Firstly, I’m not a fan of bars that sell bottles and cans behind their counter. A lot of times I’m playing the guessing game, in the hopes of making a proper beer selection. I wish places would print a menu prominently somewhere in their business or even place one online of their beer selection so that tendency is eliminated. They actually have a decent selection of beers, why not highlight that. Secondly and more importantly the Beer Depot need to have a selection of beers on tap at all times. When I went I did notice they had two beers on tap but both were not operational. I point this out because most places in Southtown are accustomed to having more than a few choice beers on tap. And by judging by the scale of the place those patrons would rather have the same beers you serve behind the counter on tap. This reflects the tastes of that particular population that rides the highest and lowest experiences, in terms of budget. However, I believe the Beer Depot is above the divey experience but feels approachable to patrons who can do without the stuffiness of an upscale place. I do like the Beer Depot. It is spacious and cozy at the same time. The beer is cheap and the staff are friendly. There is ample parking as well as seating for all. I just wish they had a menu in which you could tell what they are selling. And speaking for myself there is nothing more spectacular than the sight of a beer on tap as it is being poured into your glass. Even«Norm» would agree with me.

Very relaxing environment with good music! Beer is inexpensive and the bartenders are friendly. The DJ is great too! This bar had a total makeover and it’s much nicer and inviting than before. Thumbs up to the management.

Love this place. Dropped by with my girlfriend. Beer is cold. Music was good and didn’t drown us out. Owner was there and very friendly. I’m excited about the place. It could become the new Spurs HQ.
