Great Pizza; best meatballs in San Antonio! Been going here for years. Often we get the Chef’s Salad.

If this is what Texas calls Italian food I feel sorry for you. Going here is like going to Taco Bell for real Mexican food. What a joke. If there is anyone here from the north east part of the United States don’t waste your money or time.

Drove in from Dallas on Sat 2÷14÷16 wanting to have a nice Italian dinner with family that lives here in San Antonio and was very very disappointed with the food and service at this restaurant !! First our meals were supposed to come with garlic bread, second I found a piece of plastic saran-wrap with my lasagna, third my wife had to get up to refill our drinks. The server /waiter was trying his hardest to keep up with the amount of tables he was waiting on but when we complained the manager was very quick to throw him under the bus and back it up over him !! I would not recommend this establishment to anyone !! Your much better off going to a chain establishment(Olive Garden, Johnny Carrino’s, Romano’s, etc. you get the picture !!!)

I only like their pizza’s. Everything else that they have is nothing to write home about. Plus it’s to darn dark.

When I am homesick and need comfort food Capparellis Is where I turn. I was having one of those days today and needed my mom’s spaghetti and meatballs. Capparellis saved my soul. The best spaghetti and meatballs next to mom’s. I love them!!! Thank you for always being consistently the best!

The food and service are consistently great. Perfect neighborhood spot for either grabbing a quick bite or sitting and staying awhile. The employees have always been warm and inviting. Love this place and we’ll continue going!

I think the location plays into the clientele and vise versa. Everything was pretty average and the area is small. Felt like I was eating on top of the person next to me and with the table next to me. Upstairs gets super hot in temperature too. The décor was nice and the staff knew what they were doing. Food was good, but I’m not dying to get back. I would go here for lunch, but not dinner, and especially not if I’m trying to have an intimate setting.

I saw a black couple be turned away because the restaurant was full but no more than five minutes later two tables became available. Makes me wonder why were they not asked to wait ten minutes for a table?

Looooooooooooooooovee their Supreme pizzas! The crust is thick and delicious. There ingredients are fresh and they layer on the toppings and cheese! I actually dont know what their other food tastes like bc we only get their pizza! Great stuff!

Would have gotten five stars if they served spicy chicken alfredo like their franchise on the east side of town! The chicken alfredo here was really good!

So as a child I use to come here because the pizza was so good, however I remember the staff was outrageously rude. Well it turns out that 20 years later the exact same is true. The pizza is great and the server was unbelievable rude. She was not aloof, just rude. My father was kind and talkative and found out she worked her for six years. The conclusion was she some how has job security with regulars, because honestly when she gets a drink order wrong and scoffs and stomps off lecturing the customer, there is an entitled server. The when we asked for another glass of wine, she simply did not respond. We had to ask three times until we could get a confirmation that she got the order. One might think by reading this that maybe she did not hear us the previous two times but that would be naïve. She heard us, she was pretending to be aloof and snooty. I would have given this place five stars because I love the pizza. However the service is so atrocious, my recommendation is to go to Dough. They are a top 10 rated pizza in the nation.

Really hoped this was going to be out new«go-to» Italian restaurant but I don’t think we will be returning. I got chicken Parmesan that was so thin, dry, and all the breading had fallen off. I also got a meatball on the side just because I was craving one but it was basically just a semi-cooked ball of hamburger meat. I put it in a to go box just to be nice, but it smelled like dog food/vomit so I stopped and threw it away… yum.

Food is okay, not great. Lasagna, meatballs, and Chef salad are usually safe bets at this neighborhood fav. Wait staff is frequently down, seemingly unhappy. One waiter lurks around the dining room, a waitress is always scowling. And one young man(usually in the kitchen) named Jason is very rude and has been heard to make crude and rude remarks to the other staff. Don’t know if this is always the case, but it seems to occur more often than not. What gives?

2 stars and here’s why: food and environment is great, this is the second time we eat at this location, same waiter both times he was rude :-/sometimes people have to understand that attitude means a lot, you can have the greatest restaurant and the best food but If you treat me like s*** don’t expect for me to come back…

This is a great neighborhood restaurant. Waiters are always pleasant and the food is always good and plentiful. The house salad is dressed just right. I often get the spaghetti with meatballs or lasagna, my son likes their cheese bread and my husband usually chooses the sloppy sandwich or eggplant parmesan. Can’t go wrong with anything on their menu!

Great food, great service… what is there to lose? My favorite dish is the Meatball Boat. I stay gluten free and this is the best option for my diet. The menu says three meatballs. The first time I saw this I was worried about getting ennough food. Well I should npt have worried for a moment, those meatballs ar HUGE!!! I can eat only one. I have to take the other two home every time. But that is A-Okay… they don’t stay long in the fridge… mmm. The staff has always been friendly. Some times there are not enough staff for the tons of people that want to eat there but be patient and wait, the food is worth it.

I was craving pizza(no, I’m not pregnant) and since this is right by our house, we decided to check it out. We ordered the large cheese pizza… and what a pizza it was! While I am most definitely a thin-super-crispy-NY-style pizza kind of girl, this was a great pie! The crust was slightly thicker than I prefer, but tasty. The cheese was gooey and there were tons of it. The quality of the ingredients was evident in the flavor of this pizza. I reheated a leftover slice today and it was just as good as it was yesterday. we will definitely head back to have the Italian food, since everyone is raving about it!

This is my favorite italian restaurant in SA and it is hands down the best italian food in town. This review is for this location I think there are more in town but I stuck with this one. The restaurant is family owned and the owners are always there to ensure their customers receive the best quality food and service. They have come by our tables on numerous occasions to check how we were being treated and it always made us feel taken care of. The atmosphere is very friendly and family oriented. I’ve always had great service here and take-out without ever any mistakes. This is a great place for lunch AND dinner. Their portions are extremely generous. Their meatball is the size of a baseball and thats no exaggeration. Their subs(for lunch) are really hearty and good. Everything on their menu is delicious including their pizza!

Capparelli’s is a little Italian-American restaurant situated in a strip mall plaza. The main entrance faces away from the street so you might miss it. We got there around 9:30pm, along with another party, but they were still welcoming despite the fact that they close at 10:00pm. We were served complimentary garlic bread, which was more like garlic butter on toasted french bread. With a dinner entrée you get a small salad topped with red onions, olives, and a slice of tomato. They have a variety of salad dressings but I was told their special house vinaigrette was pretty good. I found out later that it is made with cottonseed oil and they sell bottles for $ 4. The dressing is mild, a little heavy on the oil, but there was a nice blend of herbs. We ordered the spaghetti marinara and chicken parmigiana with pasta. Both were about $ 8-$ 10. For the pasta, I was given the choice of spaghetti or rigatoni. The spaghetti looked decent and the chicken parmigiana was ok too, but a tad dry. I’d probably give this place around 2.5 stars, but kick it up to 3 for the service and accomodating our late dinner.
