We’ve been wanting to try this place since before they were opened and never got around to it. This evening on my way home I decided to call in an order to pick up but I had no idea what they served but Jeff on the phone was extremely kind and helpful. When I arrived Jeff greeted me with a smile and continued to talk with me about the establishment and how much he cared about his guests and their opinions. He let me know that if anything was wrong he would make it right and I intended on holding him to that. Verdict. The Fish was excellent. We got the share with a friend platter. It was hot and crispy on the outside, hot and flaky on the inside. The fries were a little soft but were perfectly salted and delicious. Ultimately even if the food was mediocre the hospitality was more than enough to make me want to return, but the food was great so that’s even better. Cant wait to go back.

I never write reviews, but this I had to. I just moved down from New York 6 months ago and I have been searching for a place that has great sea food to go. I have found it! Yummy shrimp! And great fried pickles. Very clean and casual atmosphere with friendly staff. Really friendly conversation with waiter and even cook staff.

The reviews start now! WOW, super surprise! New managment! Apparently this place had a rough start but they have turned it around. We just drove by and popped in on a whim. We were so warmly welcomed by a Mr. Jeff Woods, who has found his calling in customer service! Next was the food, omg. best and I mean BEST fried shrimp and onion rings. Our son got the wings, habenero style and he finally found his match. He can pack away buffalo wings, atomic style from Wingstop but these were plentiful, moist and on fire! Chef Paul saw the sweat and volunteered to re toss the wings in some bbq, so now we highly recommend the habenero and bbq mix. By all means, if you love heat, the habenero is for you. We also ordered the seafood platter, hands down one of the best in the 512. If you want truly delicious seafood, huge portions, topped with Excellent customer service, try this place!

So after 3 months, I decided to give it another try. Much better! My food was hot all the way thru, and tasted good. Of course it could have been a bit less greasy but ehat do you expect from fried food. My son was happy to see that they’ve added povoys to the menu now but its not on the wall yet. They should put a sign up about that asap! They are under new management and really seem to be trying to turn it around. I hope it lasts. Good concept, good food. They still have ketchup packet that are annoying to open after about the 4th one, but they are definitely on the right track!

I went here about 530 on a Wednesday. I was the first too order of about 10 people. About 8 people came in after that. I received my food after all 18 people who ordered after me. The manager kept apologizing but failed to comp my meal after I waited about 45 minutes for 6 shrimp!!! I wouldn’t go back here ever.

My family and I are familiar with the other restaurants owned by this family and decided to give it a try. We had a variety of items ranging from fried fish to blackened fish. Let that the amount of food you get is good for the price you pay. Saw other reviews on the coleslaw that it wasn’t great. Personally I enjoyed it, but I think it is one of those foods that everyone has a different opinion on. Worth giving it a shot if only for the all day breakfast they serve.

I’ve been waiting to try this place, I heard they had a few kinks to iron out. I was in a hurry so ordered a fish plate to go… it came with fries and Cole slaw and I couldn’t substitute anything for either of them. The meal came with 2 pieces of fish and tea for about $ 8. I’m not a big eater so the portion was ok for be but anyone else would not have appreciated the portion size. It seemed like a filet was cut into thirds and I got 2⁄3 of it. The batter on the fish was crispy and good but the fish was so oily the batter didn’t stick. The coleslaw was too sweet and thick for my taste. I’ll probably return to try the fish again in hopes it’s better. I am aware of this restaurateur and like his Mexican food so maybe I’ll just hit this place for that since its close to my house. Give them a try and make up your own mind.

We has anxiously awaited this new place to open. Doesn’t deserve the time to explain how disappointing the quality is and how overpriced. I can’t imagine this place will last. All condiments you have to ask for and any soda refill is extra. Yuk!

Gross. My husband compared the taste of everything to the way an aquarium in need of cleaning smells. We left there hungry — the first time in 27 years together this has ever happened. The taste in our mouths is disgusting. Worst food experience of my life. I need a shower and a bottle of mouth wash.

Really gross. I’m pretty sure everything is just frozen and deep fried. Nothing seemed fresh battered. The shrimp was rubbery but the batter around it undercooked. The oysters tasted so bad I literally had to spit them out in my napkin. The fish was really undercooked. When I told this to the wait staff she said«oh sorry» but didn’t offer to replace it or refund me. She just took my plate away. Texas toast is basically a sponge full of oil. Why the heck do they have breakfast, wings and fish? How about they try and just focus on one thing and do it well. I was hungry and only ate the bland fries on my $ 12 plate. After leaving I couldn’t get the bad taste out of my mouth. I had to go home and brush my teeth to get rid of the gross taste.

This place is brand new only open three weeks. That said it has a lot of growing to do. With only 10 people in the place all the food was delivered cold and took longer than it should. We ordered two gumbo. One with lots of rice and no meat, one with meat no rice we had to send them back twice before they got it right. Soda refills should be free but the menu says it costs $ 0.49. The cashier is still learning the system so check out took a lot longer than it should have. On a bright side, the restaurant was clean and the mural on the wall was nice. And they tried to fix their mistakes quickly.

New restaurant the Round Rock was a huge disappointment. The staff are very nice, but the food is below average. The oysters were fresh, but no seasoning. The portions are small, and they don’t understand what cancel one side and double the other one means. Overall the pictures of the food on the walls was a little tacky, and as stated the food is over priced. I will never return. The Pacific Gulf Sea Island Fish Fry is just not that good, that’s kinda sad i live very close to this place too bad the food sucks. Also there were two customers and they got our orders mixed up(they had numbered ticks) I still cant figure that one out…

Having moved from Waco where there is a Sam’s(a fish fry chain and very very good) I have been anxiously watching this place for a while as it was renovated. It is within walking distance of my apartment so I was keeping my fingers crossed. I knew better than to go check them out the first week or so as I know it takes a place that is not a chain a while to get everything just right. And the wait… WASWORTHIT!!! The complaints that everyone seems to have is simply because the place was new when they were trying it. My daughter and I did the ultimate test on them. We came in less than an hour before closing. Would our food be old? Cold? Would the employees just care about leaving? No. No. And No. I go the fish and shrimp and my daughter got the filet and we added hushpuppies. Amazing! The fish and shrimp was unbelievably fresh and the fish was cooked in batter that was perfect, the shrimp was cooked in a way I had never had before and am looking forward to having a lot more of it. The filet was the traditional corn meal and was cooked just like it should be. The hushpuppies? Easily in the top 3 hushpuppies I’ve ever had(will have to get two orders next time). Nothing was greasy and flavors were better than I was craving. It was simply a wonderful meal to sit down to eat. The staff at the end of the day? Smiling, helpful, and full of laughter and enjoyment. I will be back. A lot. This is easily going to become one of my weekly dinners.

First of all like all of their customers, our family was excited with the news of a «Fish Fry» restaurant in our neighborhood. Finally tried a couple of their plates yesterday. VERYDISAPPOINTED!!! Why? 1. Everything is bathed in oil… the 4 inch by 5 inch«fried» fish is pretty much nothing but oil… there’s no taste, texture none — it fell apart with a slight poke of the fork! Our lips were glossed up by the oil! It left a bad after taste in our mouths! 2. Mac & Cheese — the sight of it was disgusting! The taste was no different. My son and my husband took a couple of bites and left the entire bowl for trash! 3. They have the audacity to post on their menu board a Shrimp & Fish Plate which listed all of the sides you get including a «House Patty». BUTWAIT! You don’t actually get that because they don’t have it, have not had it and YESYOUSTILLNEEDTOPAY the FULLPRICE $ 12.50 even without the«HOUSEPATTY»! FALSEADVERTISING! Yes, we did ask what are you going to replace it with and the answer was NOTHING– there’s NOREPLACEMENT! 4. CONDIMENTS? There are none, except a bottle of Vinegar and Hot Sauce at your table. Get ready to pay 75CENTS for a tiny container of Ranch! Additionally, your condiments like Cocktail Sauce for the shrimp or AWFUL Tarter Sauce for your fish is limited and YES you need to ask for it at the Register. The Tarter sauce is all MAYO. Then again, I don’t think you will actually need it for the FRIED Fish etc. since the OIL will pretty much kill whatever«FISHFRY» Taste you were looking for! 5. Get ready to bake in their restaurant! The afternoon sun hits the restaurant really good since it’s pretty much all WINDOWS from ceiling to floor. IS there AC? Didn’t think so since we sat there sweating and it was only 72 degrees! Ventilation? NONE… get ready to smell like Fried OIL! 6. Lastly, they need to change the name… to include PACIFIC in the Restaurant name infers that the food is outstanding just like majority of the island foods you get from the Pacific. This place is a disgrace using the name«PACIFIC». Yes we unfortunately ate the tiny pieces of oily fish we ordered since we paid $ 30 for two plates! Went home and threw up afterwards. Soooooooooooooooo disappointed!!!

I’ve been excited about this place for a while. Couldn’t wait for them to open. Seemed to drag on and on and on. Finally they’re open. Now I really don’t care if they close. No seriously I don’t really want them to fail. I do wish them the best, but, for me this was a Little Red Wagon wants to try the fish side of life fail. This is Dan Baldaras’ third restaurant up here in Round Rock. He also owns Tio Dan’s(which I like) and Little Red Wagon(LRW). Looks like he’s brought over his breakfast menu from LRW. Nothing exciting there as I am so not a fan of that place. But forget about that and let’s talk about my experience here for lunch today. They have just opened so everything is clean as it should be. There are two lunch specials for $ 7.79. Seriously. Why not round that up or down? Wings or catfish for the deal. Price includes drink. From pictures of the wings they looked pretty small so I had no interest in them. Besides this is a fish place. A Pacific Gulf Sea Island Fish Fry kinda place. I went for the fish. We both did actually. I asked the cashier if the fish was wild caught. She giggled and asked me what did I say. I repeated. Three times. After the third she turns to her coworker and says«Your turn I don’t understand him». Well, I thought I was speaking English. I had to repeat myself twice to her coworker. So now I’m up to five times asking the same fucking question in perfect English. Finally coworker number two says that it is bought. Ok. So at least I know they aren’t stealing the fish. That’s good to know. I let it be. Pretty sure it’s farm raised frozen. It would help if they would advertise about the food. Usually when businesses don’t you know its the frozen farm raised kind. As we waited for the food(it’s counter order — table delivered) we looked around for the condiments. Was really surprised to find NONE! Yes. That’s right. NONE. You have to ask at the register. You want ketchup. Be prepared for packets only. We were not impressed with the fish plates that included fries and some really disgusting foreign blob they call«coleslaw». When the plates were brought to the table they didn’t include the foreign blob. We had to remind the cashier/waitress. The fries were just that. I’m not a big fry fan and these weren’t anything great. Just typical fries. The fish were small two piece and the breading had a nice little soft crunch but was bland as fuck. Seriously guys put some seasoning in that stuff. At least the fish wasn’t greasy. The foreign blob deserves its own special paragraph. Ok they call this stuff«coleslaw». I’ve had coleslaw in many places and have experienced many variations, but, I gotta tell ya these guys take the fucking«I DON’T KNOWWHATTHEFUCKTHISIS» award. Another Unilocaler, Tim C. already called them out and he is spot on. From what I gathered they took a jar of generic mayo diced up some cabbage and carrots. Added it all together and stirred. The fries and foreign blob went into the trash. I don’t think we’ll be back.

This is the second day they’ve been open and we had to give them a try. The food averaged about three stars. My wife had the better of the two lunch specials we tried, the fried shrimp have a unique batter/breading and tasted very good, I prefer less breading and more shrimp though, the fries were good and so were the hush puppies. My wings had nice taste, tried two different sauces, creamy jalapeño and hot, tasty, but slightly underdone for my taste buds, the least fave item on my plate was the cole slaw… too much sauce/mayo …the sauce to cabbage ratio was off… I want to taste more fresh cabbage that’s not drowned out by sauce. The service was very good. We’ll give this place another try in a few months…

Excellent Service! I have been hoping for a place like this in the area. The Fried Shrimps were great!
