Got the iced coffee with milk and honey. Yummy. Going tomorrow for another one! The line was quick and the baristas knew what they were doing. Very helpful as I almost ordered an iced Americano that has 5 shots of espresso. So glad I chose what I did. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

This place has a nice modern vibe– great for studying/productivity time(although it can get a bit noisy at times) or catching up with a friend. I love their roasts, I’ve probably tried them all by now and most of them have had good flavor without tasting burnt(unlike a certain other chain coffeeshop). The baristas here are also wonderful about tailoring to your requests and ensuring that you enjoy your drink. :)

The Cinnamon Chai Latte is really quite good. I’m glad I went with it. But it was insanely overpriced. The atmosphere is very sterile, and I didn’t feel particularly warm and cozy. When I got to a coffee shop(for studying especially) I want to feel cozy. The long layout of the shop doesn’t offer many places to sit, and I’m surprised given the location in college town. Additionally, as I posted in my tip — they close at 8pm during the week. Not helpful at all! Especially when you consider the starbucks down the street a little ways is open until 11:30 every night. Looking over my review now, I think 3 stars is generous and primarily based on the taste of my chai.

I work nearby and have been to Saxbys many times. Inevitably something is frustrating about the experience. They are out of dark roast(3 times), they have one person working the counter and it is busy so there is a wait(3 times), they are out of dark and regular roast!, so it will take about 10 minutes to brew more(1 time). Call me old fashioned but a coffee shop should probably have coffee ready. Ordered sandwich on bagel and got sandwich on a croissant(just now). All little things, but they all add up to a disappointment. Great décor and a cool vibe, great for hanging out and the coffee, when they have it, is pretty good.

This place is adorable. It’s brand new and has a cool vibe. The art was well worth looking at and there was plenty of seating. The selection isn’t great and the service is super kind and friendly but sometimes a bit slow.

Stopped by Saxby’s connected to the Barnes and Noble at College Town on Mt Hope. We stood at the counter for several minutes before being aknowledged even though there was staff right there. I got the Vanilla Love Latte which was White Chocolate/Strawberry/Vanilla. It was good but the strawberry syrup tasted very artifical — not really my favorite. Pricing pretty much the same as Starbucks but their Large appears to be more like the«Grande» than the«Venti.» Very trendy décor but pretty small sitting area and can get kind of loud. The first time we stopped at this location they didnt have decaf espresso which I thought was odd for a coffee house, but on second visit they had decaf available. I would say they are average but nothing special, overpriced. I think we have some better options in Rochester.

Maybe it’s just me, but I came in recently with a coworker and we were both super unimpressed. Lots of stuff made from powders, everything tasted artificial and super sweet. Also the people that worked there kind of just pretended like we weren’t waiting at the counter for about a minute before they even acknowledged us. Not a fan at all.

Visited Saxbys for the first time this weekend. They have a large list of specialty lattes/drinks, I ordered an almond joy iced latte and it was really good! I would get an extra shot of espresso next time because it was a little on the sweet side for me and I like my coffee drinks strong. Food options are a little limited but they have breakfast sandwiches, bagels, pastries, and frozen yogurt. I’ll definitely be back to try some of the other specialty drink flavors!

Was a fan but I went back to Starbucks — don’t know why. But you get the BEST Iced latte ! Like 100 times better than anyone else. Is anyone else listening: P Good quality coffee. food is kinda not there yet. Baristas are new and so much more friendlier than Starbucks baristas. Awesome fruit smoothie with fresh mango and pineapple… no canned stuff in there which is great!

Downloaded the Saxby’s app and got a $ 3 credit. Which cut the cost of my bagel and iced tea in half. They also have a rewards program. Their program tracks money you spend instead of going by a star for each purchase. Definitely a better program in that regard. They are in the college town plaza so no drive-through. This could work against them. My iced tea was good as was the bagel. I would come here again but it won’t replace Starbucks or Dunkin for me.

I have to say this is pretty good. I was eager to try something other than Starbucks since the atmosphere across the street there is lacking. They make a legit coffee and it’s more comfortable than S-bucks. Fast internet and decent music but relaxing enough to get work done. Seems like a healthy crowd for 10:30 am on a Thur but not packed.

Ambiance is much better than the Starbucks across the street. They have lots to offer other than coffee so I think this is a good place to hang if you can snag a table. Coffee was pretty good so i’d stop by again.

The staff is excellent. The prices are OK. If you have a sweet tooth for flavored lattes, they have an enormous selection! That being said, Saxbys is a great change from the daily Starbucks run. The coffee is good, the espresso is good, and the treats are tasty. I believe Saxbys is as I expected it to be since it’s a coffee chain. I’ve come here multiple times, and I’m not disappointed! It’s another place to hop in and grab a quick pick-me-up. I appreciate what they have done with the space they have. SO many plugs under the bench by the Mt. Hope entrance! More seating with decent sized tables near the counter. If you need your own personal space or some more quiet, you can always go right into the Barnes and Noble(it’s attached: how awesome is that) where there is some more seating.

Saxbys Coffee was my first visit to the new College Town, and I must say I was a fan. It was 10 am, not too busy, the barista(is that what we call it when it’s a man?) was sweet as can be, I found myself lingering at the counter even longer just asking him questions about the new businesses that surrounded Saxbys. I had a simple Green Tea, but had plenty of options to choose from. I was meeting a friend there and we opted to sit in the oversized comfy leather chairs by the front entrance. It wasn’t the idea setup since we had to sort of turn to face one another, but we both got comfortable very quickly in the chairs and all was well. I think if I have one suggestion it would be to cozy up the space a little bit more, it seemed kind of bare, but again they are on the newer side. For those looking for coffee to grab and go, these baristas are quick, so you’ll be in and out in no time. I’m definitely going to add Saxbys Coffee to my list of meeting spots in Rochester, especially because I avoid Henrietta like the plague and this is just on the Rochester border, so it’s safe territory for Alyssa to not have a road rage meltdown.

The place is a little cramped, but they did pretty well with the space they have. I enjoy the décor, but it’s nothing unique. Also, why do coffee shops always use small writing on small menus placed ten feet away? So dumb. Ain’t nobody got time for that. Place looks good enough for me, but really we’re all here for the coffee, right? Didn’t get coffee, but I did get the hot chai tea and, man, it was fantastic! One of the best I’ve had in a while and definitely better than Java’s chai tea. Drastically better, really. I will be back again. Also, the employees seem very happy and nice here. That’s always something I like to see, and something that will improve every aspect of a store/restaurant/shop/etc. Go check it out.

Part of the College Town business, Saxbys is attached to Barnes&Nobles. You can go between stores through the joint door. Seems clean and chill atmosphere. Got myself the Fro-Lattes. Pretty tasty.

Like Starbucks but a lot nicer looking. Industrial modern décor with plenty of outlets. Great place to study, catch up with friends, or just take the afternoon for yourself. The place does not get too packed and is not too loud either. Not your third wave coffee shop, but a real nice place to hang out.

Brand new coffee shop in the new College Town area! It’s all sparkly and clean on the inside. They had a ton of staff this morning(with just little ol’ me as a customer), but I saw some training going on. I ordered a iced chocolate monkey latte(chocolate and banana) and it’s ok. I’m not sure why, but I expected a little more flavor from it. Also… a medium was $ 5.02 after tax. I was a bit surprised at how pricey it was! More than Starbucks… which is shocking given how pricey Starbucks can be. I did overhear that they get their bagels and pastries from local places which to me is a huge plus for them. I love when businesses support each other. This was my first time ever visiting a Saxbys, so maybe my review will change after I visit a few times.
