Went last night for diner, we had 8pm reservations, which were confirmed a week in advance. Arrived 10 minutes early to a busy hostess stand. Was told the table was not ready and they would come find us as soon as it was ready. So we went to the bar and waited. An hour later nobody ever came. I went to check on our table and the hostess people told me they sent someone to look for us. Which I doubt ever happened since we were sitting right at the bar drinking some cocktails the entire time. Then they told me they gave our table to someone else! WTF, over an hour later still no table. What’s the point on making reservations of they make you wait for over an hour! So our night was ruined as far as having a meal. At least we did enjoy ourselves at the bar and ran up over a $ 100 bar tab between two of us. We ended up leaving to visit other bars in the town center but with no diner for us we were still very disappointed. Also, we never got an apology from the manager or anything. And I thought being a Landry’s Club member would at least get me a faster table but in the end did not matter, I’ll be sending this review to Landry’s club also.

It’s a Sunday 3:30, There is no one else in this restaurant other than 2 men at the bar and our service is terrible. We’ve had to ask for the same things over and over and our burgers are cold and we’re still waiting on the mayo we asked for. Our waiter didn’t take the drink orders for half of the party that arrived late for 10 minutes. Absolutely will not be coming back.

M+S never disappoints! I’ve been here a few times, usually with work people. So when I decided to take my brother out to lunch here, I was somewhat skeptical of how the service will go. My brother and I are in our 20s but we look young, and in the past, nicer restaurants don’t seem to take us seriously. However, the waiter we had was absolutely wonderful. He treated us no differently than his other tables. Anyways regarding the food, I got the mussels pasta and my brother got the fish tacos. Both were delicious. I did the lunch special so mine came with a salad as well. Great deal! I’ve also tried the crab cakes and calamari in the past. Those were good as well. Dinner is on the pricier side, so I’d recommend going during lunch. Plus, it won’t be as crowded. I didn’t give it a five stars because in terms of fancier restaurants, I have other favorites.

Fried Oysters were great. Fish Tacos were OK, only because I don’t like mine fried, but the portion was good.

We were a med-large group of 9 and our service was STELLAR!!! We came here last night around 6:15pm and restaurant wasn’t very busy for a Wednesday evening probably since everyone was stuck in the horrible traffic outside due to the recent snow fall of almost 3 feet over the past weekend! Brad our waiter took wonderful care of all of us, he was very professional, added wonderful suggestions and was prompt! Our table started with Shrimp Kisses– which were my second favorite to the Lobster Bites, calamari which was overly fried and Roasted Mushroom Flatbread which I didn’t love– the crispy crust was tasty but that was the only element of that apps flavors that was present. Next course was salads and I chose the Tuscan Kale Salad with warm apple bacon vinaigrette which was amazing but **ask for extra dressing to soak up the kale leaves! For dinner entrée a girlfriend and I shared two entrees– she had the Miso Chilean Sea Bass with udon noodles and stir fry I chose the Almond Crusted Rainbow Trout which I found to be very dry. Her dish shined! We will return! I noticed the happy hour menu pics and didn’t know M&S had a great HH from 4−7pm M-F!!!

We celebrated our anniversary dinner here this year. The food was well-cooked and the mixed cocktails were delish. The staff was also very friendly and the hostess took great pictures of us to remember the evening :-) Thanks again :-) December 8th2015

This location is 25 minutes from Dulles Airport and a free parking building is right across the street. Although this is a chain, this McCormick & Schmick is superior to most of the others. A very big menu includes fresh oyster varieties and clams on the half shell, 10+ fresh catch of the day, Lobster Thermador that was not bad. Good crusty bread, many wines by the glass, good wine list. I was disappointed with the crab bisque. It tasted like Campbell’s vegetable soup. Good friendly service. Decent dessert tray. Like most McCormick & Schmicks this is a large restaurant that can simultaneous handle a large number of concurrent patrons. When I was there, it was 7 degrees outside and I was very happy the interior was toasty.

*** 3 ½ stars *** The food is good but the service can be slow. This was our experience last Saturday night despite an attentive server. I enjoyed the crab cake stuffed mushrooms appetizer and my grilled mahi mahi, which came with fingerling potatoes, brussels sprouts and delicious sweet Cipollini onions. All were well-cooked and well-seasoned. I really liked the private table setup. The booths are sectioned off by mini-walls, so that you have your own little room, complete with coat hooks and wall art on the interior. The booths fit 6 people. If you’re not in a hurry and have time to sit back and relax, this is a lovely, quiet place to dine.

We went here yesterday at 3:55pm. We were seated at the first booth by the window. It was considered dinner so they switched out the lunch menus and handed us the dinner menus. It was completely empty in the restaurant. We were the only table in the dining area. There was another couple in the bar area. Service was unbelievable slow. It took over thirty minutes from the moment we got our menus to when the food got to our table. I didn’t understand why the service was so slow bc the restaurant was empty. Our server was gone for the most part and I had to get the attention from other employees(a guy that was cleaning the booths with one of those non electric vacuum cleaners) to have him look for our waitress to put in our order. Also there were two hostesses up front that were just chatting with themselves. I wish they were more attentive and could see we were waiting for our server to help us flag them down. I raised my hand in the air to try and get their attention but they were so involved in their conversations about the mall they didnt see us. I’ve been a server before and I understand this is the lull hour between lunch and dinner but for guest to be so ignored is unacceptable. The total for the two of us plus tip was around $ 80.

Came here for Veterans Day meal. First off, thanks to the restaurant for the recognition. Food was outstanding. Ordered from a special limited menu but they allowed me to sub grilled salmon for blackened chicken on the fettuccini dish. Waiter was really patient with us and our two young children. After two bad experiences at other M & S restaurants, this positive experience ensures we will be back to this location for more.

Happy Hour Review Only: …of which, stand alone is more of a 4+Star rating, but service is constantly subpar. My glass will typically get empty, completely unnoticed by the 2 person staff behind the bar & it’s a constant flag down to get service. What makes it worse, the bar isn’t ever too busy. On a different note, HH starts at 4pm which is earlier than most RTC establishments, many drink & food options all very reasonably priced. Recommend the hummus, seafood stuffed mushrooms & buffalo shrimp. Skip the lettuce wraps & personally the margaritas aren’t stiff enough for me — I tend to stick to the wine. Cheers!

I was going to let my experience Friday night go until I looked at my bank statement today. This place just lost a customer Friday night. The bartender was rude, disrespectful and over charged several people. I was charged for three shots of Jameson which no one in my group ordered. There were also drunk people that continued to be served by a drunk bartender who couldn’t operate the soda gun because she was so intoxicated. It is also never okay to be told to F*ck off or Go F*ck yourself by a bartender either. AVOIDTHISPLACE because there are much better restaurants in Reston Town Center.

First of all, this is the first McCormick and Schmicks I’ve walked into that had rock music blaring away. Way too loud even in the bar area. Second, it seems like they’ve changed the wine list in the past year or so. and not for the better. We actually walked out after one drink because of the noise so I can’t comment on the food.

Service was bad. Finally had to get up and get our check from the hostess. She gave t to us but never apologized for the bad service. It wasn’t that busy either. Food is good and prices are a bit high but not bad. Won’t be back.

We used to come here often, but it seems that something has changed over the years and it’ not quite the same. We used to enjoy a nice, long meal with servers who were knowledgeable about seafood and their offerings and enjoyed chatting and making us feel welcomed. It seems that our last couple of visits were quicker and not as personable. We also didn’t get must from our server in the way of explaining the menu and/or describing the food. The dishes really aren’t nearly as nice as they used to be either. They seem to be cooked fast and plated without«love.» We still stop in from time to time, but nearly as often as we used to.

My coworkers chose this location for Happy Hour. I was a little surprised, since the town center has so many different options, that my coworkers pretty much only visit here. They do have good Happy Hour grub: $ 5 burgers, $ 7 tuna platters. I also enjoyed the lettuce wrapped chicken with peanuts. I wasn’t a big fan of any of their Happy Hour drink selections, so I picked a normal drink that was $ 11. That seems a bit much to me for a place not located within DC. My coworkers tell me it isn’t usually loud, and that’s why they choose to come here. That day was an exception though; the bar was full of loud people(spanking others?) to the point that we had to shout across the table, and when we left our ears rang like we’d left a concert. Truthfully, I’m hoping this experience will help me convince my coworkers to pick one of the other restaurants in the town center for Happy Hour.

Fantastic start to finish. Food was outstanding,(though children’s options could have been better). My Sea Bass was excellent!!! Drinks were great! Service was great!!! Only odd thing is walking to the bathrooms from the main dining area, you have to walk into the kitchen area to get to them. Very strange, felt weird and like a safety hazard for workers and customers. Would absolutely go back though, very happy!

I went to this location of McCormick & Schmick’s for dinner with some some great company. We had a reservation for two at 7:30. It was on a Tuesday night so not extremely crowded there. We got seated ordered drinks and appetizer. I wasn’t extremely excited with the waiter but most definitely had no complaints on his service. He did his job and was attentive.
I enjoyed the mussels appetizer and the broth they came in was wonderful. For my entrée I ordered the stuffed flounder. My friend ordered a center cut rib eye steak medium. When the entrees came out they looked and smelled wonderful. I over all enjoyed my dish. I wasn’t astonished with the way my fish was cooked I have had more tender fish else where. It had an little bit more of a bald flavor then I prefer. My friends steak came out originally well done. It was sent back and came back more on the medium rare side. Its better then over cooked In our opinion so he had it as is. I had a piece also. I thought I was actually pretty darn yummy.
Over all the experience was a pleasant one. Pleasant staff and okay food. It just was missing that extra something this time. That being said I would come back to this location possibly and try something different on the menu.

I had my birthday dinner here to kick off 2015, and I can now confidently say that I’ve run the gamut of the Landry’s collection of upscale steakhouses, from Morton’s to McCormick & Schmick’s, to M & S Grill, for starters. Suffice it to say that when there’s a special occasion in my life, I usually end up at what I like to call a «cloth napkin fancy meat yummy bread» restaurant. We had a reservation on a quiet(read: Monday) night, and were seated in one of their nice semi-private rooms that line the perimeter of the dining area. Our waiter was nice enough, probably a college student, but didn’t quite have the level of training or the art of pre-empting diners’ needs that many other fine restaurant servers have down pat, a la at Ruth’s Chris, i.e. He lacked the deft touch of neatly serving wine, as an example. I found the menu at M&S to be a little more seafood-focused and less«all about the meats» than other places with which it competes. That was welcome, as I wanted something lighter, and my Greek in-laws love their fish! We started with the«Calamari Fritto Misto» — these were average and a bit over-fried. I wish the fancy seafood/steak places would offer grilled or panko-breaded calamari. We also shared(and preferred) the Lump Crab Tower, which came complete with delicious avocado mango. The crab seemed fresh and it was a good size for the $ 13 or so price. As for entrees, my husband(the swordfish lover) opted for the«Swordfish Casino,» which is a strange name for an otherwise very appealing dish, and is one of their specialties. As a bonus, it’s only about $ 30 for a huge cut of swordfish with toppings of lump crab, red pepper, and bacon. I was slightly miffed at the lack of wild-caught fish on the menu, as well as our waiter’s lack of knowledge of which fish were wild versus farmed. Therefore, I chose the local and wild Chesapeake Rockfish, which was a tender and buttery cut of fish, which I opted to have grilled and topped with the avocado pico de gallo. My M-i-L scored with the«Ultimate Mixed Grill» for $ 33, which contained shrimp grilled and stuffed, scallops, and salmon. My F-i-L, the surf-and-turf king, enjoyed that there were a few different steak and seafood combos, and ultimately chose the steak and lobster, but he found the steak a bit overcooked and the lobster a bit rubbery. I was pleased at their wine selection, although it was odd that our waiter tried to dissuade us from ordering one of our favorite bottles of Malbec, even though it was also more expensive that the house Malbec, so that was odd. What was also nice was that M & S helped me to celebrate my birthday by bringing a complimentary Molten Chocolate Cake, while providing a quiet, low-key atmosphere. They do have some improvements to make in order to avoid getting lost in the purgatory between the lows(Outback, Lonestar, M&S Grill) and the highs(Ruth’s Chris, Morton’s, The Palm). I’ve heard they have a great and non-crowded happy hour at the bar…

I am aware that this is not Morton’s but if they share the same family name, you would think that they share the same philosophy of providing quality food coupled with excellent service. I think the attempt to provide a flawless experience was there but they failed to execute. I should have taken the hint that this evening would be a failed attempt to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday, after my phone confirmation with the restaurant. They left me on hold for 15 minutes and every time they came back on the line, they kept asking me why I called. After speaking with the GM, who by the way, lacked any concern for my escalated issues, I should have moved to another venue but my family likes this place so we proceeded. The issues started when I walked into the room to find our party seated at a table set for 17. Was this a joke? We only had 12 people in our party. The servers(2) were very attentive. Problems began once the food arrived. Our party ordered 5 orders of steaks and 3 of the steaks were returned for incorrect temps. One of the center cut ribeyes, was returned 3 times, and the final time was a dry, over cooked ribeye. After 2 returns, the food restaurant mgr should have given us a new steak instead of cutting the steak 3 times, and reheating it 3 times. Very disappointing, and the food mgr rolled his eyes twice each time we said this steak was still too rare. He then told us he could comp this steak, but at the end of the day, the server did not comp it. The manager on duty, Valerie, came to us trying to understand the problem and tried to comp the steak but kept adding another steak. She was very rude and literally raised her voice at us. The restaurant was not busy at this time, yet, the rudeness of the managers was appalling. When you pay nearly $ 40 for a steak, it should not come out looking like it was microwaved. Instead of apologies, the management was rude, the steaks were mediocre at best, and no attempt to remedy the situation was made.
