Melissa gave me a massage that was incredible!!! I have had insomnia for a year… last night was the first time I slept easily for 8.5 hours. She is an artist and is so good at what she does.

Spa review: About a month ago I decided to treat myself to a manicure from Red Door and received a gel manicure from Ha. It was a wonderful and relaxing experience. Three weeks later I came back for another manicure and unfortunately did not schedule it with Ha and got Yen instead. It was so horrible that I left in the middle of the manicure. She didn’t believe me when I said I had been there before and had to go verify with management (she wanted to charge extra for taking the gel off). She then didn’t have the patience to wait for the gel to start peeling off and was scraping my nails to hard my nails started to shred. I asked her to stop and she put the foil back on thankfully, but she didn’t understand why I was upset. The gel was peeling better the second time, but there it would come off she gave up and just started filing it. She then did a horrible job around the cuticles. The whole area was all wet and my sleeves were getting wet. This may not seem like much, but when you’re paying $ 70 for a manicure almost 2x what you can pay down the road you expect a much higher standard. They failed at upholding the Red Door standard their prices demand. I went to the front desk to check out and pay whatever I needed to and the front desk clerk said I didn’t have to pay since I didn’t get the service but also proceeded to tell me that Yen was very talented. I told her that she was incorrect and proceeded to tell her of my experience. I would have expected more from management, a free service for good faith… a more sincere apology and saying she’ll speak with Yen… no accountability at all. This is at least the 2^nd bad review of Yen. Hopefully management takes notice.

I have never had a facial when the therapist was wearing gloves. And I’ve had facials in many cities, many countries, mostly 5-​star salons… If this is a new trend at Red Door, I will not be back!!!

This review is for eyebrow waxing ONLY. I went to the Reston Arden spa this week for cut/​color and eyebrow shaping. My appointment started off with the eyebrow waxing. The woman sat me in a chair and spent 5 mins on my brows. They were red afterwards but I was hoping the redness would go away. Once I got home I realized my brows were not completely done — lots of hair left behind AND they were burned yet again (this was my 2^nd brow waxing experience at an Arden spa). I thought I would give them a chance because they are good at other things –cuts, color etc. Someone please listen to this review and teach your eyebrow technicians how to do their jobs, or don’t offer the service! Especially not for $ 30 a pop!

Twice a year something wonderful happens — spa week! I love spa week. It allows me treat myself to a red door treatment, which I normally couldn’t afford.
I’ve never had a bad experience here. I always leave feeling relaxed.
The only negative is that the dressing room is very small. Anymore than one person and it’s crowded.

I recently went here for spa week and had the Stress Buster treatment. It included a full body exfoliation followed by a relaxing massage. I absolutely loved it. Joel was my masseuse and he was amazing. I also had the signature facial which felt amazing and left me glowing. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a nice relaxing treat.

I have only visited once but it was the same pampering experience as the other locations. If you need an escape for a few hours, this is a great way to be pampered. I haven’t had a facial here, just a manicure.

This was the first time I’ve ever been to Red Door Spa. This was the Reston, VA location. The customer service was decent but the massage was great. The things that I DID NOT LIKE was the fact that there was no fitting room for Men? I went with my fiancé and she was able to change and put on her robe and relax, and I had to sit there in the clothes I came into until it was time for my massage. I was told I would have to change in the massage rooms itself. I wasn’t even offered a robe, and if I was I would have to change in the bathroom. From what I was told, the the Red Door Spas locations else where DO have men’s changing rooms. Also, the hot water for tea was everything but hot. The customer service representative, Ziad was nice but not knowledgable at all. we had two gift certificates for a «Swedish Massage» and at the point of check out, he kept saying «I am not sure if you will have enough, you might have to owe about $ 20. My fiancé has been to other locations and has only spoken highly of them. When you spend over $ 100 for a massage, customer service has to be ON POINT. The whole point is to be extremely comfortable, relaxed and unfortunately I wasn’t.

I’m not usually one to treat myself to pampering and spa treatments, but when I do – or when I want to gift someone I know with a nice experience – I always pick the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. I haven’t had a bad experience.
This place ticks all of the boxes for me for a good experience from start to finish; great customer service and easy appointment booking, adequate treatment rooms to accommodate lots of appointments so I can almost always reserve the day I want, welcoming staff, relaxing spa areas, and most importantly, skilled aestheticians, masseuses, and nail artists.
I’ve received massages from several different masseuses here and they are all wonderful. Each person who has worked on me has been skilled, courteous, and always making sure that I am enjoying myself and that I am receiving the right pressure in the right places. Their aestheticians give really great facials and I’m completely converted to the Elizabeth Arden line after the recommendations I’ve received. Their nail techs are great, and the front desk staff is mostly pleasant. Any other services I’ve tried aren’t much to write home about – not bad, just standard.

I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere at the Red Door in Reston. I was referred by a friend to take advantage of the great prices during this past Spa week. Fariba was my aesthetician and I highly recommend her to anyone that is seeking a thorough and competent person. She provided exceptional service from the moment she met me in the back room to the end of our appointment. I left the salon very pleased and plan on coming back with my girlfriends for a spa day!

Jenna does awesome color!!! Matched my natural hair color seamlessly leaving all of the golden highlights, that makes blondes beautiful! Gabby is amazing,! I always leave my hair to her better judgement! Beautiful every time and always putting a smile on my husbands face!

I had the most incredible massage from Joel yesterday! I had received a gift certificate for my birthday and read reviews in hopes of choosing the right person to go to, and boy did I luck out!
Joel has a very attentive nature to him. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease and he didn’t say a WORD during the entire massage! I can’t tell you how important that is to me. I’ve had terrible experiences in the past where the therapists just rambles on and on or asks me a million questions trying to «get to know» me. Joel allowed me to go into my own zen mode and actually enjoy the experience. The pressure he provided was perfect and I could tell he really takes pride in his craft… I’m already looking forward to my next visit with him!

Laura Lee is the absolute best colorist in the business! She has been doing my color, highlights and hair extensions for five years! Laura Lee is no longer at Red Door Reston — but I am THRILLED to be seeing her at Salon Bleu! Love it! Plus since Salon Bleu is in the Tyson’s Galleria, I have shopping before and after my appointment!
Red Door Reston has the worst chairs throughout the salon. All are so uncomfortable. The shampoo chairs, color stairs, and the waiting chairs are all awful. The pillows are dirty and worn. Also, it is always too hot in the salon. Turn up the AC; it is the middle of summer! Wifi would be a nice benefit for customers.

I usually don’t go to red door due to a couple of bad experiences from before. But I got a gift certificate so had to go. Scheduled a pedicure, a regular pedicure. Front desk was friendly enough. They took me to the back area where it’s supposed to be relaxing. but with all the foot traffic and conversations between the workers there, relaxing is the last thing to happen.
My technician came to get me. I chose my color and sat in that ridiculous chair. The place looks like it needs a good scrub down as well as some help in organizing the work areas, esp the main sink area. It’s a cluttered mess!
My technician told me she knew I had a gift cert and asked if I wanted to upgrade. I asked what that would include, which was a special kind of lotion and massage. I told her no thank you, I would like the regular pedicure with a parafin. Well, after a mediocre massage, my feet buffed til the skin was raw, and a not so tidy polish application, I was rushed out her chair bc she had another appointment. And when I went to check out the bill was over $ 120! She ended up charging me for the upgrade pedi and parafin. Didn’t feel like arguing with them bc I know I woild get the typical response. Another bad experience to add to my list of red door visits.

I am so disappointed with this location. I feel as though that is my fault because I read the not-​so-​great reviews and went to this one instead of Fairfax anyway because of location and I sincerely regret that.
I had a gift certificate and decided to use it towards my hair, however I was extremely nervous because I have gone to my stylist for over 10 years and whenever I try someone new I regret it instantly, this happened again. I don’t remember the name of my stylist and she was nice and everything but I was very disappointed with her outcome. I told her and the person who was taking me back to her how nervous I was and they reassured me I was in good hands. I asked for an ombré look and the stylist ended up using a gloss instead of dye on the dark part of my hair and it came out barely looking like anything changed, which is my ultimate pet peeve. If I’m putting dye in my hair I want to look different, I DON’T DO SUBTLE. I should have probably told her that I hate subtlety but I’m not a hairdresser and didn’t know that gloss would make such little impact. It was a huge waste of a gift certificate, I would have been much better off getting a massage or something.
I want to note that the person who walked me back was nice and pretty, but her hair and makeup was entirely too wild for such an upscale and professional salon. If you’re going to work for such a high priced upscale classy place like that, your appearance should reflect as such and hers was inappropriately tacky. Go work at a regular salon where things like that are expected and not a spa that is supposed to make you feel relaxed the minute you walk in the door.
I have some money left on my certificate but I will be going to the Fairfax location for a more professional experience.
From all the reviews I have read on here, the manager of this place should be overhauling the staff and striving to do better, at least making clients feel like the absurd amount of money they spend is worth it. They have failed in that regard.

Is this place under going construction? There is no door between the noisy front desk and the spa relaxation area. There are boxes lining the halls of the place and the walls look like they have drywall patches everywhere.
The locker room is pretty sad. It’s so tiny and dimly lit. The lockers have doors missing and the wood veneer is peeling off them. There is a huge crack in the counter in the sink. The shower doesn’t work so well and has terrible pressure.
Their facials are nothing to rave about, just your typical facial procedure. I really like Melissa for my massages. She’s got great technique and has a firm hand if you need it.
Like I said, I’m not sure if this place is undergoing some construction but it’s in terrible shape and I can’t believe Elizabeth Arden allows her name on the door.

The salon was nicer, cleaner, and cheerier than at my last visit. They had redone the paint and lighting. (A little harsh now, but definitely cheery). Driven to return because of a gift certificate, I found the staff pleasant and the stylist responsive to my input. Wash, cut and blow dry cost $ 85 without tips. Pricey but pleasant, though not much like the pictures in the slide show above.
Located in a small shopping center between PetSmart and Office Depot, they are walking distance from Reston Town Center. You can get all sorts of salon services there and parking is right out front!

I have been coming here for color, mani/​pedis for 4 years now because it is convenient to my office. Leigh, Kylie and Karen are all wonderful with color — you cannot go wrong with any of them. For mani/​pedis I use KT and she is excellent. Complaint there is climbing in and out of the pedi chairs is a law suit ready to happen.
I get bored with my hair style and like to try different stylists from time to time. There is a new stylist that moved up from shampoo girl and decided I would like to give her a shot. Here is my experience booking the appointment:
ME: I would like to schedule a haircut.
RED DOOR: Would you like a a blow dry with that?
ME: Yes, doesn’t it come with the haircut?
RED DOOR: No, it is extra.
ME: I have never heard of that before.
RED DOOR: Yes, it is standard in NY.
ME: This is Reston NOT NY! I have always had the blow dry included with my cut. RED DOOR: It is always extra in salons, except maybe Bubbles. (What a Snot!)
ME: How much is the blow dry?
RED DOOR: $ 35.
ME: No thanks.
FRIENDS: Does your salon charge extra? I have never known of a stylist that doesn’t do a blow out to double check the cut.

This review is for Yen, a nail technician at the Red Door in Reston (Spectrum Center), who gave me a warm cream manicure and pedicure
The Red Door is located at the Spectrum Center — the shopping center with Harris Teeter, Petsmart, On the Border and Men’s Wearhouse (it is not the Reston Town Center or the part of Spectrum Center with Best Buy and Barnes & Noble — it has its own entrance at a traffic signal from Reston Parkway)
Some situational background — I have been to Red Door salon/​spas for other services, but this was only my second mani/​pedi, ever. my first mani/​pedi was a couple of years ago at one of those typical strip mall nail places where I paid less than $ 50. While they did not give me a nice warm neck pillow that smelled like gingerbread/​spiced cookies like Red Door, they also did not take off skin like Red Door.
I should also mention that I was late for my appointment — my friends and i were getting mani/​pedi treatments together on Friday evening and with traffic on a Friday, well, I was late. My friends started their treatments first and they told the people there that I was going to be late and apparently they said that was fine since the technician did not have another appointment after mine.
Anyway, I got there and started the pedicure, Yen was obviously disinterested and was just going through the motions — she seemed annoyed to be doing the treatments and was rough, but apparently I did not realize how much. I submitted some pictures with this review — as you can see — she literally took skin off along the side of my right foot.
Also, she did not wipe down my legs or arms/​hands very well after the last crème (or whatever) went on, so I felt the little gritty-​ness afterwards — this was annoying, but I was able to easily remedy that in the restroom (alas, not so with my foot).
I have been to the Red Door in Tysons and compared to that location, the Red Door in Reston is much smaller and compact — there is hardly a waiting area in front of the registers.
I would recommend that you avoid Yen at all costs. Instead, I recommend you see Dao — my friend who has been going to Red Door for years now loves her nail technician — Dao. He was doing a treatment for someone else and I noticed how gently and carefully he worked on the woman’s nails — I was certainly envious!
