I am so sad to learn that Paradise Kabab has closed. I absolutely loved the food and the wonderful owners. If you ever open another restaurant, please let me know. My family and I will be back in a heartbeat. Thank you for the years of delicious food and gracious hospitality!

I am so sad to find Paradise has closed. Best wishes to Fatima, Mo and Jake, who always treated me like a guest in their home. I will have to find another place for gheymeh bademjan, and doubt I’ll find a place as warm and friendly as Paradise.

We were out in Redwood City one night, and wanted to try a new place. Looking on Unilocal,we saw the 4 star reviews for this place, and decided to try it. We got a beef and lamb kabob combo and the salmon kabob. The beef and lamb was OK, nothing great. Rice didn’t feel very fluffy. The salmon was terrible. There’s a Persian place in San Jose(not sure if I’m allowed to say the name here, but it’s on Saratoga Ave.) that has absolutely amazing, melt in your mouth salmon kabob. We were hoping it was something like that. This was cooked very badly and we barely ate any. Very disappointing. I have no idea how this place has 4 stars. We hypothesized it’s because they don’t have a lot of good dining in Redwood City. I’m reading another review saying Paradise Kabab will close soon. Good. You will not be missed by us.

I have never seen a meal make my woman’s eyes roll back in her head… it happened tonight! Fresh and delicious meat kabobs, tender, tender, tender. The rice, and even the roasted tomatoes that come on the plate. Wonderful service, family owned, and warm ambiance. Have been here twice, and sad to hear that they are closing in a couple weeks. Execellent food, I ordered a lamb koobide with chicken breast(jooje kabab). They were so good and good service. Just a bit pricey: p Also, homemade yogurt soda(doogh) was good. I will definitely return.

I would give zero stars if Unilocal let me. They took 25 mins to take our order and said that it would be very quick once the order is placed. After 20 mins of ordering they said it will take at least 10 more minutes. Still waiting for the food… If the food is good enough to compensate for the 45 min wait, I’ll come back and edit this review.

This place is great! This is one of my wife’s favorite restaurants in the area, and we have taken to eating here often. She’d probably give it a 5 * rating. The food is very solid and well priced. I’ve tried quite a few dishes now and our agreed-upon favorite is the chicken-kabob, which never disappoints. I’ve also had the beef koobedeh, lamb stew, and fesenjan, all of which were good. The owners are the nicest restaurant owners we’ve ever met. They make us feel like extended family when we are at the restaurant. And the setting is nice: quiet, casual, relaxed. We hope this place never goes out of business.

Best restaurant here in RWC! The owners are wonderful, very attentive & friendly! The food is AMAZING! You won’t get this homemade food any where else, and will come back craving more. The chicken and beef koobedeh are my favorites; both so flavorful and juicy!

This is a mom and pop shop on a bustling strip during lunch/dinner. All their neighbors are also mom and pop shops, too. The restaurant has a nice ambience. Very cozy and clean. The staff is so, so nice! The service was on point and very fast. The food is simply amazing! It’s very authentic and definitely cooked with love! I ordered the Koobedeh which is a ground beef/lamb kabob. It comes with saffron rice and grilled tomato. Our hostess asked if we liked spice and we said yes… So they also tossed in a grilled jalapeño. I love this dish because it’s so simple but flavorful. The beef has just enough fat content to keep it juicy but not greasy. My husband ordered the chicken thigh kabobs. This was also very good! The chicken had such a light but flavorful seasoning with yogurt. The meat was very tender and juicy. I look forward to coming back and trying other menu items!

Amazing service and food. The owner greets you and takes your order. She offered to bring me extra rice when I finished my plate. I recommend to get hot tea and appetizers afterwards. The boneless chicken is good, recommend to get this well done. I ordered the soltani which includes barg and luleh. Great combination.

I came here with some friends because one of them wanted the chicken special. I got that chicken special plate as well but I was a bit disappointed by the actual chicken. It was a bit dry and not that flavorful. Chicken does have a tendency to be overcooked so I was a bit sad. The rice, however, I thought was pretty good. It’s buttery and yellow, and they put some sort of berries in the rice. It made the rice a bit tangy and sour but it was different, and I would eat the rice again. I tried to clean my plate of the rice!

The food was very well prepared. The chef used quality ingrediants when preparing the dish. The dish portion size was perfect. Iordered the chicken cobab with safrine rice. Excellent combination. Dish was simple yet hearty. Price was very reasonable. $ 9.50 for a meal. The owner demonstrated excellent customer service skills which created a warm enviorment. Not much variety on the menu. The food usual consist of a protien rice and few leaves of lettuce.

***4.5 stars*** hubby and i came here to celebrate 6 years of being together. i had casually mentioned perhaps mediterranean or greek food, and he surprised me by choosing this quiet, mom and pop middle eastern restaurant in downtown rwc. i saw the menu posted outside the restaurant and thought, «wow,» the prices are very reasonable here! there were only a handful of patrons when we walked in a little after 7pm on a sunday evening. we made sure to get here by then b/c they actually close at 8pm on sundays. i was immediately drawn to the décor on each of the dining tables as well as the walls, as i could see middle eastern prints and patterns in a variety of bold colours. upon ordering, our waiter brought us a basket of thinly cut pita bread, wrapped in a small middle eastern towel. i usually have bread brought out on a plate or simple basket, so this was quite a treat as i loved the colourful towel. the bread was cut into squares, another unique quality, and we were given a lemon and olive oil blend to pair with the bread. this condiment was very light with a bit of zest, but i was also happy just eating this warm pita just by itself as it was delicious! to start, we chose the damavand salad($ 8.99) since the ingredients sounded very interesting… romaine lettuce, spring mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, walnuts, feta cheese, red radishes and a sprig of mint. the dressing would be their house special pomegranate-paste dressing, which i was very eager to try. the salad did not disappoint as it came out beautifully presented, very colourful, and each slice of vegetable was very fresh, especially the tomatoes! the walnuts were not candy coated or salted, which pleased me since there was more than enough flavour on this dish. and the pomegranate-paste dressing was the perfect sweet dressing for this salad, a little fruity, and every so slightly tangy. loved this salad! for our main, we shared the pardees combo($ 16.99) since we knew that this dish would offer plenty of meat for both of us. this plate had one skewer of koobedeh(their signature hand ground beef) and one skewer of chicken breast chunks. i only had the chicken and i have to say, it was tender, juicy, and very flavourful without being overly salty or oily. i enjoyed every bite of this chicken, almost as much as my hubby enjoyed his koobedeh since he practically devoured his beef in a matter of minutes and ate some of the chicken! my husband chose a side of lightly buttered rice pilaf to enjoy with his meat which was a great choice since this was very authentic tasting both in texture and flavour. there were also garnishes of mixed greens, a fresh tomato wedge, and a grilled tomato so that we could have some extra veggies with our meal. part way through our meal, the head chef came over and asked how everything was and whether we’d like any additional rice. as much as we would have loved to, we were simply stuffed from the scrumptious meal that he had prepared for us. and certainly too full to enjoy any dessert, but we were very happy with our pita, veggies, koobedeh and chicken. our waiter promptly brought us the check, we paid, and bid farewell to the chef and his wife as they stood by the door, seeing us out, almost like we were leaving their house as their personal dinner guests! thank you to the chef, his wife, and the waiter, for allowing my husband and i to enjoy our anniversary dinner and making it a most memorable one! we will definitely be back for a second meal soon!

Boyfriend and I are lamb fiends. It’s hard to find a place that doesn’t cook it well so it’s always«go to» item. The lamb here was our least favorite out of all the places we’ve had. That being said it is still pretty good! It’s not dry but not as flavorful and tender as other kebabs we’ve had. The lady that works here is very sweet and welcoming. We’ve passed this place a ton of times and it never looks busy so looks like a good spot for last minute large groups. The appetizers look very good so may want to come back to try something else as well. For the best lamb kebabs(from any region) though it seems De Afghan in Fremont is still king of the bay.

I didn’t start eating kebabs till recently but I’ve found that Paradise Kabab has some of the best that I’ve had. The service here is great. It has the feels of a family run restaurant(maybe it is!) and they are always attentive even when the place is packed! The chicken, lamb, and beef kebabs are all great but to me the lamb is the best. It’s not too gamy and has its own distinct seasoning that just makes it so tasty. The beef is a well seasoned ground beef kebab and the chicken kebab is juicy with this citrus flavor drizzled over it. I’ve also had filet mignon kebab but it’s not all that special. Its precut into thin slices but its not all that tender or flavorful. Best to stick with the lamb! This place can get kind of expensive(~$ 15 per kebab) but if you’re willing to splurge, it is well worth it!

Family-run restaurant that has all the flavors of home. Nice selection of dishes, not just kababs. Mellow neighborhood joint with friendly staff and tasty food. Food: I tend to go for the non-kabab dishes, and PKH has a bunch of great ones. I love the eggplant and lamb shank, the fish stew, and the eggplant dip. Lamb shank is my favorite, but the fish stew is pretty solid tool. Think cioppino with persian flavors — very good. The missus and kids love the kabas and have had them all — koobideh-style ground meat, or tender pieces of chicken, fish, lamb or beef. Long-grain rice, grilled onions, and grilled tomato round out the kabab plates nicely. I want to try everything on the menu. Once I do, I am sure I’ll add a fifth star to the review. FYI, no booze here, so be aware. Service: Friendly and sweet, just like the proprietors. It’s like your mother is asking you what you want to eat for dinner, your dad cooks it up, and then your cousin serves you your food. I’ve ordered food to go as well as dined in, and even started a meal in the dining room and had to leave, and in all situations the service has been great. Vibe: Family-meal-cool. Dining room is comfortable and bright, and it is just a mellow place to have a meal. Grab a set by the front window if you can; these days there is a lot of action on Broadway and with CityPub across the street there is no shortage of people-watching to do. Family-friendly: Absolutely. My kids dig the kabas, but they could easily make a meal out of the flatbread, rice, and veggies. Flavors are not so strong that milder palates can’t handle them, and I am sure the kitchen will accommodate requests for less-strongly-seasoned dishes. Summary: Couldn’t be happier that PKH is walking distance from my house. Love the food, love the service, and love that the kids enjoy themselves here as well. New neighborhood favorite!

I can’t believe I never heard of, or found this place before today. The quality of the food here is beyond excellent! I can easily say this is probably one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Definitely a family owned, Cute little place, that could maybe use a bit more of a modern ambience(to attract more guests) but other than that you can’t complain! Very kind and prompt service. The most authentic Persian food you’ll probably find in the bay area. I am amazed and already want to come back for more! Highly highly highly recommended!!!
