I recently moved from the east coast and went to a new salon where I asked for lots of layers and very little off the length. I even showed pictures of my OWN HEAD when I had this haircut a couple years ago. I left that salon with no layers and 3 inches shorter. I didn’t want to return to the salon to correct it because I just didn’t trust the stylist to hear me. Luisa, on the other hand, looked at the pics, listened to my wishes, then set out to exceed all my hopes by giving me exactly what I asked for. She knows curly hair. She knows how to listen. She has some serious chops. I’ll definitely be back. She is worth the drive.

I was in Redondo for my nephews wedding. I was traveling with my elderly mother. We found Luisa through the hotel. The salon was just around the corner! Luisa did a FANTASTIC job on my mom. Hair and makeup. Luisa had very little to work with and it all came out amazing!

OMG! Luisa shampooed, cut and styled my very long hair today and did a fabulous job! She knows what she is doing and has 20 years of experience. Some stylists I have gone to do not have the expertise that she has! It was a wonderful experience and she asked specific questions as to how much would u like cut, how much time do u take to style ur hair, etc! I am so happy and pleased she knew exactly what I was looking for and made it happen and she is reasonable in her pricing! If u have long hair, short hair, curly hair, any type of hair she knows what she is doing! Thanks for making my day!

LUISA IS A GODDESS!!! My sister is getting married and this was hers and my new baby brother in laws way of saying thank you for everything you’ve done. I meet Luisa and she says what do you want me to do? I’m super easy in that respect… I said do whatever you want just leave the length. So… that’s what she did. My hair looks fabulous!!! She is super sweet and friendly and talkative. I LOVE THAT!!! It took a minute cause my hair is long and thick but the results… WOW!!! She decided she wanted to go with a red color underneath and blonde highlights on top. It looks amazing! She also did a small trim at the bottom and evened out the front. I was getting hit on before I left the lot! hahahaha!!! What a fantastic hair artist and I’m soooo glad my sister introduced me to her. Luisa you are a jewel!!! Thank you for taking my mop top and transforming it into a gorgeous masterpiece! You are the BOMB!!! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Luisa! She’s phenominal!

This stylist is extraordinary! If you get opportunity to go to her for highlights or color you will never go anyplace else. Seriously, she is really great! So sad she is not my colorist anymore! Manhattan Beach is lucky to get her!

I came to Luisa for a Brazilian Blowout and I was really skeptical about getting it done at first but after having her work my hair I knew I came to the right place! I called her after seeing good reviews on here and she right away told me I can come in for a free consultation the following day. I went and she greeted me and gave me an exact price for my type of hair which was in between straight and curly or in other words worn out curls. Luisa was able to schedule me the following day at a very convenient time and she sure knew what she was doing. It took about and hour and a half and was quicker than I thought. She left my hair really smooth and shiny; it is very easy to manage now. After washing it a few times now I still see shine and it takes me practically less than 10 minutes to style my hair where as before it would take me anywhere from 30 – 40 minutes to get it straight. I recommend her for this and cuts!

I love Luisa! She has been my hairdresser for years now and I will not change that in spite of her moving from San Francisco where we met to LA. Any chance I get, I choose to visit her to do my hair, even if I have to wait much longer than I should to take care of my color and cut. The quality of her work is worth the wait. Not only is she talented and creative in her approach to style but also entertaining, welcoming, and attentive to the client’s needs. She follows the latest trends in style and color and does her very best to make a client feel like a true star! She is the best gift you can give yourself when it comes to hair style and great attitude.

This woman is incredible. Not only did she save my poor, dry, mangled, burned, abused hair — but she made me look so beautiful my boyfriend is now my fiancée! She’s a miracle worker. I’ll never go to anyone else again. THANK YOU for coming to Manhattan Beach! We love you here!

Luisa is the best hair stylist I have ever had, I’ve tried so many hairstylists in my life and no one can be compared to the amazing luisa.
I had my hair in a very bad condition as a result of a bad job from previous hair stylist, my hair had a horrible colour, Luisa did a miracle after asking to 5 different places no one wanted to do my hair because it was really bad, she did an amazing colour job and a big transformation in my hair, my hair went from yellow to a beautiful hazelnut brown with some highlights, she didn’t touch my roots that were black to don’t damage my hair but I don’t know how she did it that I couldn’t notice the difference from the black to the brown
This was in San Francisco I’m so sad she left to L. A, she has a great sense of humour and her conversations are very interesting, she was great in giving advise for make up, clothes, and even gourmet food! What a woman!

I would get my hair done by luisa and was very specific about how I wanted my highlights, this far she is the only stylist that has ever been able to achieve that style of highlights. She will deffinetly help you achieve the look you are going for.

Luisa is an amazing stylist. She is great with color and cuts. I also go to her for Brazilian blowouts. They last longer when she does them. compared to other stylist. I also just tried the Keratin Express treatment that is similar to the Brazilian but it only takes 20 mins. so far it seems better than the Brazilian because it isn’t so.flat.

I am surprised to see such glowing reviews for Luisa, because my experience was the complete opposite. I took my 80-​year-​old mother, who was visiting me during the holiday, to have her hair done. I called her and specifically told her my mother was «old school» and wanted her to use curlers. She said no problem, but once we arrived and after she washed her hair, she told us she didn’t have rollers and that, «nobody uses them anymore». She used sheers to thin my mother’s hair, despite the fact the was told three times that my mother didn’t want her to do that. She didn’t listen to anything she said, treating her like she knew better how to style her hair. Her curls fell out before we reached the parking lot, it took her 1.5 hours and she charged her $ 70. Rather than make a scene, I texted her later and told her how disrespectful I felt she was to my mother and how poor her service was… no response.

I used to do my hair with Luisa back in San Francisco and I am so glad she moved in Manhattan Beach, CA! One of the things I like most about Luisa is that she is a great listener and understand exactly what I like to be done with my hair. If I bring her a picture of a style or color she will be able to match it. Also, she is very good in advising you on style and color and how to take care of your hair on a daily bases. Her words a wise and they come from a longtime experience in doing hair.
I only recommend someone if I am completely confident in their work and honesty and Luisa is someone I would recommend as she knows what she is doing with hair.

Luisa is amazing! I stopped by the conveniently located salon in Manhattan Beach to inquire about getting a Brazilian Blowout, which I’d never had. I met Luisa and immediately felt comfortable with her level of knowledge and experience. I love my hair. Luisa is kind and took the time to give me some very helpful hints for my hair. My hair was a disaster up until I met Luisa. She is a great colorist and hairstylist. She made great suggestions for my face, type and style. I really enjoy how my hair looks now. I get a lot of compliments now. She is wonderful.

I have been having Luisa do my hair for about three years now. I first went to her after I had a really bad color job done by someone else. She was amazing and made my hair look great!
Eventually, I switched over to high lights on her suggestion– She does a great job with high lights and I always love my cuts!

I was in SF for an event and Luisa came to my hotel room to style my hair and make up. She did an wonderful job of keeping my look natural but very elegant for my black tie event. I will certainly use her again when I am next in the city.

Luisa is very talented and have seen her for several years. I have graying mid-​aged hair and she knows how to make me look 30! Too bad she left SF.

Luisa is an amazing stylist and colorist! I just had my hair done (color, highlights, and cut) by her yesterday and it looks amazing. I showed up at work today, and was greeted with a million compliments! My hair has been extremely damaged from either self-​styling and other «large» or chain salons, but having a one-​on-​one with Luisa made my hair’s millenium. It is so shiny and smooth, even with all the color processes she did.
If you want AMAZING coloring from an AMAZING professional, call her and set up an appointment with her! She rents a station at Clip Art in the Marina. Decent 2-​hour parking and nice neighborhood!
