Went here on recommendation from a co-worker that the new management(used to be a different asian restaurant) had done some good things. We specifically went for sushi and it was close so that was a benefit. We went early… like Seinfeld early… and were the first ones there. Staff was VERY friendly and quick. We got a few classic rolls as well as some of the local ones for the restaurant. We opted for a coconut roll that sounded good. Our server indicated that was more like a dessert roll and recommended we get that last. EXCELLENT recommendation of where it should have been eaten. It was very sweet and definitely tasted like a dessert(which felt kind of weird). All in all a decent sushi experience, but not the best and I think could improve on fish quality I felt for my experience(had mostly tuna/salmon). Would give this place another try if convenient but probably would go into Bellevue for sushi for a date night.

My wife has never been a Sushi eater until Issho! The fish is super fresh and the service is pretty amazing! Not to mention, the décor and ambiance is wonderful! They have a great happy hour, too! Check it out! I consider myself sushi-snob and consider this hidden gem one of the best places I’ve ever been too(including NYC and LA)

I really loved this restaurant. I went for Happy Hour on a Friday afternoon and had some incredible Amberjack sashimi, some kind of fusion tuna dish with finely shredded daikon radish that was incredibly memorable and then seafood salad. Everything seemed very fresh. Service was very good — no issues for me. The restaurant was about ½ full. The prices, even non-happy hour, were very good compared to some other places I have been. I will definitely go back.

I don’t know about you, but I care about what kind of impact my food has on this planet. This sushi restaurant cares about sustainable. I like how they serve natural chicken and port and state on the menu where it is sourced. I enjoy seating at the bar and every time I seat there, I make a new friend. I also enjoy dining in the dining area, where I get more personal service. If you have kids and want to order for them, just order appetizer sizes. My suggestion is appetizer chicken katsu or dumplings. They created«Insanity Roll». That is insanely spicy and crazy good. I am hooked on this place. I am just patiently waiting for some kind of hot noodle dish on the menu as I LOVE noodles just as much as sushi.

I went here with a Bloomspot certificate for 2 and got way more than expected. Appetizer, Chef’s choice sushi/sashimi, 4 saki tastings, and dessert. Our server was lovely and the food was delicious. Definitely a fan and will be back many times.

I went for a quiet dinner by myself today — awesome service, quick and friendly. It was happy hour so the meal was very reasonably priced. The Seattle Roll($ 6) was a generous size with 8 pieces and the Edamame($ 3, also a generous portion and good for sharing) totally hit the spot for me! Loved it; I will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I went to Issho for the first time Thursday night. We lucked out because we arrived at 6pm and it was still happy hour! We got some great sushi combos on happy hour and some over priced drinks(happy hour drinks should be a little cheaper). But that wasn’t a show stopper. I’m happy with this new restaurant and will definitely come back because the sushi was reasonable, the staff was very accommodating, and the drinks were good(however expensive).

Not so great. I don’t know why they say they are good for kids, they don’t even have a kids menu. Anyway, Saturday night @ 7:15 we were 1 of 2 tables in the whole place. Wow. After reading the reviews I would have thought this place would be packed. Makes me suspect some of the Unilocal… I like the fact that they tell you where their food comes from. I wish more places would do this. Service was horrible, but she was very nice. She totally forgot to order my daughters meal she didn’t clear the table until we asked. She did make ice tea for my kids which was sweet. They were out of the Saki and beer we wanted. Nothing to write home about by any means. I will try HH someday to check it out. Food not so good, service not so good, but super sweet people work here.

My wife and I love going to Issho for their happy hour. To be clear, I’m somewhat of a newby to sushi, so I can’t really distinguish great sushi from very good sushi, but we’ve loved what we’ve gotten at Issho. My favorites are the Issho California and the 96 Degrees In The Shade. I’ve looked at the non-happy-hour prices, and they’re a bit steeper than I’d want to pay. Fortunately, their happy hour lasts until 6:30 — perfect for Friday after work. The staff were really friendly, and we had no problem at all with the speed of service.

Finally a great sushi spot in Redmond. The rolls are creative and delicious. The variety of traditional and signature rolls is enough to leave anyone satisfied. My favorite so far: The ISSHO role Da Kine(this is a sweet roll, don’t use soy and save for last) The Evergreen roll They have Happy Hour so I’ll be checking that out soon!

I don’t usually write reviews, but this place is almost as good as Izumi, at a lower price and just steps from my apartment! I had the chirashi bowl($ 18), which came in a little bowl stuffed with fresh tasting raw seafood. I really wish I took a photo, it had some pretty expensive scallops in there. They should use a bigger bowl and drop the 2 cooked shrimp(boring compared to the rest of the stuff). I also ordered amaebi($ 3) and it was the real thing! Fried shrimp head accompanying the raw sweet shrimp. Miso soup was too salty. Service was slow, even though the restaurant was empty. I didn’t really care because my food was so good. Hot tea is not free. This place needs more customers to stay open, so if you are a sushi fan, please give it a try. Get the chirashi bowl and amaebi.

Redmond finally has a top-notch Japanese restaurant! They are working to get MSC certified(sourced from sustainable fisheries) and some of their seafood already is. Their chirashi-zushi looks small, but it’s packed with good seafood and is quite filling. My wife, from Japan, pointed out that many other restaurants give you a huge bowl for chirashi, and that you end up with too much rice and non-seafood«fillers» like egg, fish cake, denbu(sweet, bright pink, low quality fish flakes) and pickled veggies. I wish that they’d open for lunch, perhaps with some bento-style options – I’m sure they’d do quite well when word got out. My only complaints are that they still(after a few months in business) only have 1 – 2 premium/chilled sakes available and that sometimes the sashimi pieces are too small, such as the yummy wild salmon that we recently enjoyed.

We were here on a Saturday night to check it out and we were the only ones in the restaurant at 6:30pm. It felt eery. The staff was very helpful though and service was top notch. The food was ok — I’ve had better at other sushi/fusion restaurants. The sushi rice was very dry and flavorless — it almost tasted like plain rice. The portions are quite small as well and the menu items were pricey. I give the food 2 stars and the service 3 stars, so it averages out to 2.5. I’m giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and so I’m rounding up to 3. I may try this place again to see if anything has improved. If so, I’ll provide an updated rating.

On a Saturday night it was empty. Tables and floors were filled with crumbs and dust. The place felt not taken care of. If not for dirty tables, chairs and floors it would have a nice atmosphere. Sushi was great, the only con it is very pricey. It looked like the restaurant was trying to go for an upscale feel judging by the setting and prices. I would probably come back for a takeout as sushi was really good. Service was very attentive on a slow night. If only the place could be cleaned regularly it would be a great sushi spot.

Don’t be misled by the 5-rating plants! The service was slow. The restaurant was fairly busy but definitely not packed, and many of the tables appeared to be waiting on food. We waited an hour before our order came out, and every 20 minutes or so the waitress would come out to inform us that our food would be just a little longer. We weren’t the only table complaining about the poor service, as the large group seated near me were frequently standing up to talk to the staff and I overheard when some food came out for them«compliments of the chef». The calamari appetizer was good, but the sushi was only«meh». We received 1 star service and ate 2 star food. The Unilocal!coupon saved the day, because I’d have been pretty angry had I paid full price for this. I won’t be back.

AMAZING! I had only had sushi once before at some mall sushi joint, and thought it was horrible. My husband convinced me to try it ONEMORETIME at Issho… OMG! Fabulous! I am now a convert!!! I’ve only tried salmon(the Seattle roll) and tuna(the Tuna Tower), but I’ve been fantasizing about it ever since. I can’t wait to try other dishes. It’s not cheap, but that’s fine with me since I got super-fresh, sustainable fish that didn’t taste like the crap they serve at cheap-o sushi places. They also have a non-sushi menu for people like the former me who haven’t seen the sushi light.

Hands down, the best sushi restaurant in Redmond. Extremely fresh high quality fish, and friendly service. They’re environmentally aware, only serving sustainable fish.

We had a great meal here with excellent food and excellent service. The sushi rolls are creative and beautifully executed. They have a very interesting selection of saki also. Hopefully this restaurant will do very well. It’s a welcome addition to Redmond. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning often.

I absolutely loved our dinner here. We had the Issho sushi platter, chicken katsu, and the Redmond roll. There is something special about super high quality sushi, and Issho has it. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is delicious. I’m looking forward to coming back with my kids soon.

Opened 1.5 month ago. My husband and I went in for light dinner. It has the same atomospher as previous restaurant, Watercress, Asian fusuion. We ordered some rolls, price is soso, taste soso. Average.
