Was by this location the other day, and the hours on the window stated that they were opened, and the lights were off, and no one was inside. Door was locked as well. Not impressed at all. Looked in the windows, and decided that even if they had been open, it would have been a waste of my time. OH, ANDTHENEWAURORALOCATION… FORGETIT!!! SUPERRUDE! SNOBBY!

I had such a great experience here! I was desperately searching for Forrest green hair dye.(Yeah. Yeah. Don’t judge me haha) After coming up empty handed at Sally’s, they suggested I try Ed Wyse. I’d never even heard of the place. The woman on the phone was oh-so-sweet and helpful. She had what I was looking for and was just as friendly in person! I’ll be back especially since they carry Zoya brand nail polish. Glad I found this place.

I am not very impressed by Ed Wyse. I’ve come into this place a couple of times and have never been unhappy, just not satisfied per se. Today I was majorly disappointed. PROS: — This place has a convenient location, in Redmond, and has decent hours. –The staff at least acknowledges you, even though I don’t particularly care for their customer service. CONS: — They do not put prices on any of their items. This makes it frustrating to compare items. It also makes it easy for them to take advantage of uninformed shoppers… Recently I decided I will try and wax my own legs. After digging around on the web I settled on a GiGi-brand starter kit. I usually like to look at products in person the first time I buy, so there are no surprises. I looked up the kit on the Ed Wyse website and went into the store today to purchase. It was easy to find what I was looking for, but there was no price. After asking a sales associate for the price she came back and asked if I was a student or had a license. I said ‘no’ and the price was $ 99. WHAT?!? On line the price is $ 40-$ 50. In fact I just ordered it on Amazon for $ 45 with tax and free shipping. I could understand being a little more expensive in a store, but double the price. Come on. I wonder what the price would be if I was a student or had a license… The associates have already made me feel like I don’t ‘belong’ there because I am not an aesthetician, but the pricing leaves no doubt. OVERALL: Skip this place and buy online. It will save you money, time and hassle.

These days there is so much written about supporting local and small businesses. But, sadly, this company is a strong example of why it works against the consumer.
I wanted a «good» fast drying hair dryer. I went in and asked for information. The sales associate directed me to one dryer, with a price over $ 100. No offer was made to demonstrate the dryer to me. I was given the impression that Ed Wyse would allow me to take the dryer home and try it. If I wasn’t satisfied, I could bring it back within 30 days. Well, I didn’t like it. When I took it back I was told they will only accept a return if the merchandise doesn’t work or they will take it back within two weeks of purchase if the box has not been opened. Well, that had not been made clear to me. I had opened the box so I was denied a return. This place personifies the«Buyer Beware» warning. It is really better to shop at the mega-stores or online, where merchandise can be opened and returned if the consumer is not satisfied. LIke the others, I won’t be going back either.

If I could, this place would get ZERO stars. Here’s what happened: My friend, a hair stylist, was extremely unable to walk with a broken leg(and sitting in my car). She asked me to pick up ONE bottle of shampoo from Ed Wyse so she wouldn’t have to do it herself later that week, knowing she stll wouldn’t be walking. She handed me her beauty license and the name of the shampoo. I went in, found it on my own and took it to the register. I explained the situation, «My friend can’t get out of the car, this is HER beauty license» and the woman blankly stared at me «I need your ID that matches this license» and I said«it’s not mine.» and she said«Well, then I guess I can’t take it, can I?» and when I said«my friend is RIGHTTHERE in the car waving at you» and she said«well, go get her license and bring her in here» I had her license, but she was actually unable to get out of the car. After a few minutes arguing with me, I told the lady I wouldn’t be purchasing the shampoo and left. I can’t capture how rude and how much of an attitude she had. From the second I walked into the store her and her«associate» were talking about inappropriate personal stuff quite loud. They didn’t acknowledge me or ask to help me when I was wandering around, and they were extremely ill-mannered. Ed Wyse. if you want the reputation of trashy, rude, and b*tchy, you nailed it!

I was initially excited to find a beauty supply store within easy walking distance of my apartment in Redmond. I just wish my first shopping experience had been better. Here’s what happened(in a nutshell): I grabbed an O.P.I. nail polish from a basket marked«Sale.» When I went to pay for the polish, I was informed that the color was not, in fact, on sale. I politely pointed out that the bottle had come from the sale basket and then showed the sales associate that the basket contained other bottles of the same O.P.I. color. In other words, there was no reason to believe that my bottle had been placed in the sale basket by mistake. Most sales associates would have adjusted the price for me at that point. This woman chose not to. Didn’t even consult a manager or fellow associate to discuss the possibility of adjusting the price. I left the store empty-handed. I suppose I could have pointed out that consumer protection laws require retailers to offer customers the advertised sale price, but I didn’t think it was worth the trouble. I won’t be going back.
