We have eaten here several times and stay at Terranea often. This last Memorial Day and our Anniversary weekend, we called to make a reservation for a late dinner around 9pm. They told us a reservation was not necessary and to just come by for dinner at that time. We enjoy our day and show up for dinner at 9pm. The 3 girls at the desk said they are only serving happy hour menu after 9pm. They were a bit rude about it when they were telling us this, and that’s what makes it all the more frustrating. We like the food here, but totally turned off by bad customer service and not giving the proper information when we called. We ended up going to Nelsons and receiving great service!

I went through the review n I hv to say that I disagree with the negative ones. The food s not bad. In fact I found some dishes quite interesting and beatifuly presented. The view from the patio is a huge huge plus. I recommend this place. I will choose this one over other options in this resort unless u r not a fan of Asian food

The food was okay but a little salty and oily. The service was too slow. We ordered jasmine rice and hot water but they never came until we finished lunch. For the price they charge, they need to improve the service.

Yeck, yeck, and triple yeck! Who let the airline food into the resort? Let’s keep a thoughtful eye on that chef because their food tastes like a 24 hour suicide watch. Disgusting food. Also, $ 38 nightly parking fee is a scam. I can tell you where that money isn’t going: the food! YECK!

Went here for sushi. but they no longer serve sushi. Apparently it will be back in the summer I was told. Not sure why they would take it away for like a month but ended up ordering other items and they were all great. Shaking beef, garlic noodles with chicken and calamari were all great.

Fusion meaning none of the dishes are authentic? Gotchya. The restaurant is located downstairs of Terranea Resort’s main site/bldg. We walked in to a very empty restaurant, no surprise there, given it was around 3pm. We were on a semi-vacation(some work some play) and were motivated to pound drinks all day and night. We ordered a bottle of sake, and not wanting to completely spoil our appetite for dinner, we shared a dish of crab fried rice. It was good but they need to relax on the salt. I had sodium overload and was bloating drastically after this. For our sake, we asked what the waitress would recommend — she clearly didn’t know squat about sake(e.g., junmai quality grade). We ordered a bottle of Tozai — the children’s choice for sake(cheap and super duper sweet with a very milky rice color and feel). The flavoring of the rice was fine — it’s really not that difficult to make fried rice, but it’s super easy to put FAR too much soy sauce than necessary, which is what happened here. I didn’t try the sushi after looking at the pics on Unilocal — definitely not my kind of sushi(it’s either authentic Japanese soosh or no thanks, and all their sushi/rolls look like run of the mill mass-produced pieces purchased in supermarkets, rearranged with decoration).

I would definitely go back! I live in South Bay and is a great night out with good food and drinks! Our server Nicole knew her stuff, was friendly, and helped us get all the right entrees and desserts. Service was excellent, food was delicious and had a lot of flavor and sushi was really good! 5⁄5 I will recommend to all my friends and clients to visit Terranea and have a good meal.

FOOD: Happy Hour daily from 4pm — 6pm — Japanese Breakfast: Nolet’s silver, yuzu marmalade, tangerine, agave, and lemon. Refreshing and light. 5⁄5 — Hoison Glazed Spare Ribs: topped with peanuts and green onions, with a side of pickled veggies. Sweet, well-marinated, tender meat that falls off the bone. 4.5÷5 — Crispy Walnut Shrimp: sweet, crispy shrimp with honey glazed walnuts and honeydew balls. Crispy as described. Great sauce. walnuts were delicious and the honeydew balls added something different. 5⁄5 — Salt & Pepper Calamari: battered calamari with jalapenos, red chilies, and green onions. Tasty, tender calamari. Great sauce. 4⁄5 — Bashi Salmon Roll: crab, avocado, and cucumber roll topped with seared slamon, sesame and eel sauce. Yummy! 4.5÷5 — Snow Crab & Shrimp Fried Rice: crab fried rice, egg, and a lot of green onions. Real crab. Could have had a little more flavor and less green onions. 3.5÷5 — Shanghai Style Garlic Noodles: egg noodles with toasted garlic, bean sprouts, and green onions. We added chicken. Very flavorful. 5⁄5 — Sizzling Shaking Beef: beef cubes, onions, tomatoes, and fried potatoes. Great flavor and tender beef. Be careful, the meat can be very hot even after it’s been sitting there for awhile. 4.5÷5 — Crispy Fried Whole Fish: Crispy fish with flat rice noodles, lac cheong, bean sprouts, pickled veggies, and green onions. The fish could have had more flavor. Be careful of the smaller bones in the fish. 3⁄5 — Mango Pineapple Cheesecake: I was expecting pieces of mango and pineapples or at least a purée or syrup. This was okay. 3⁄5 SERVICE Amazing service! Our server, Judy, was very friendly, professional, and attentive. She checked on us several times during our meal. 5⁄5 FINALTHOUGHTS I would definitely come back. Great food and service!

We have been to this restaurant twice and twice were disappointed. First issue is paramount to fraud. Our credit card was charged twice both times(two months apart) which after sending copies of statements was finally resolved. So if you go watch your statements for double charges. Service was subpar. When asked what came with the SOYBRAISEDWAGYUBEEFCHEEK the waitress said mixed vegetables(she was not sure which). It came with mushrooms and bamboo. It also had a semi-hard boiled egg versus the poached egg described. She did not check for drink refills only coming out to bring check, not offered dessert. We tried to like this place but unless management gets issues worked out we will not be back.

The best sushi in Palos Verde’s, After getting a great Japanese chef with a brand-new menu this place is the best Asian restaurant in southbay. You can also expect, great service at this restaurant.

Had Valentine dinner at Bashi and as usual I was not disappointed. We did not have reservations and the hostess sat us immediately. We’ve been to Bashi’s several times in the past and the food was excellent as usual. Our waitress, Judy, was friendly and extremely professional. She represents the restaurant well.

I’m not usually a big fan of hotel food and fusion food but this place exceeded my expectations. The restaurant was pretty packed. My group of 3 was seated after a half hour wait. We started off with the raw oysters. They were ok, kind of small. The crab fried rice was awesome. You can see the giant chunks of real crab in it. Lobster tails were great and well flavored. Sizzling beef was tender. The Bashi Salmon Roll was a good combination of sweet crunchy and savory. We also had a chirashi bowl and by then we were too full to give it proper attention. The prices here is definitely high. I didn’t expect any less from a hotel restaurant but I was really impressed by the portion sizes. I would recommend guests to give it a try.

The food is really good. It’s a combination of American/Asian food. Unfortunately, they only serve Sushi after 2pm :(but still a good place to eat.

Great place!!! Over looking the Pacific Ocean. Tonight it’s chilly with cold winds. But we have a corner spot with a heater. Very romantic! Love the food here! Plus they have the best happy hour. Cost for dinner are medium to high. But worth every penny!!!

Waitress explained their«large dishes» are shareable, LIE. Its only shareable if you had bunch of smurfs at the table. Large dishes serve 2 at most. Shaking beef and rib platter was too salty, drenched in soy sauce + other seasonings to cover up their use of poor quality meats. Avoid their sushi. 4. star restaurant prices, gas station quality + taste. The rolls are probably the best thing they have going. HAVETOTRY their green tea cream brulee. Highlight of the evening +1 for service +1 view. –1 for prices –1 for quality –1 for taste Go to the restaurant next to them, Catalina kitchen. Better everything at similar price

Look, I like this place. The patio, the bar, the menu – all good. I ordered a rainbow sushi roll, which was good. But on some recos from some Unilocalers, I also ordered the garlic noodles. Do NOT make the same mistake. Oh, they’re somewhat tasty. But they have so much garlic, it’s just over the top. Not just several whole cloves of garlic, but a ridiculous amount of chopped garlic. It was everywhere – clinging in clumps to every onion and pepper. it overpowered all the other flavors. This is flat-out lazy cooking and makes me a bit reticent about coming back and trying more. On the plus side, the guy behind the bar(Zach) was exceptional. As a former restaurant worker, I can say he knew his stuff and showed passion a real for what he does. If management is listening: you’re wasting him behind the bar. This young dude is a sommelier, for crissakes – bring him up in the organization!

Went here with my wife at night for a bite to eat. The place is set up pretty well. Half outdoor and half indoor. Since it was chilly outside we at indoors. The inside is not that great. Just has standard tables and chairs and the lightning was a little too high for nighttime. Kind of a sterile environment. For a resort like this, I thought it should be a little better done. We had the crispy rice with spicy tuna, the dragon roll, shrimp and mango salad and the fried lobster udon. Crispy Rice w/Spicy Tuna — I think there was a little too much rice and too much tuna on each piece. Breaking it up would be helpful. This way it does not fall apart as you eat it and you can eat it in one bite. I would pass on this dish. Dragon Roll — Good roll. Typical dragon roll you would have at any sushi place. If you like dragon rolls, then you will like this one. Shrimp and Mango Salad — Has a sweet taste. Good overall mango salad. It does not stick out as special, however if you are looking for something with a fresh and light taste, then you will like this. Fried Lobster Udon — I thought this would be better than it was. It was just okay and the lobster was not well done. The flavor was covered with too much batter. I would pass on this one too. Overall an okay place to go. Maybe better during lunch when you can sit outside and enjoy the day with a few adult beverages.

Maybe it was those chicken dumplings and shrimp dumplings that I had from our work conference’s last night dinner, but wow I totally forgot my own rule about Asian fusion: DON’T TRUSTASIANFUSION. I’ll give credit where credit is due. The salt and pepper shrimp was fried pretty well, although come on honestly… if there’s one thing that it’s nearly impossible to mess up, it’s a fry-up. Lobster udon was pretty good, but more so for the fact that they used an entire lobster tail. Udon itself was really salty and the sauce was off. Now for the sizzling shaking beef and hoisin glazed spare ribs. The actual quality of the beef was great, but man whatever sauce they used was so unauthentic that I was over it after two bits. Same for the spare ribs; at least they had a lot of meat on the bones. It’s one thing to not use MSG, but overdosing on sodium isn’t an acceptable alternative either. Service was a bit lacking, but that was moreso because it seemed like everyone from my work conference was at the restaurant on this particular night. I knew they were understaffed, so it is what it is. Seriously though, if you want real Asian food, go to San Gabriel Valley. Not impressed.
