Great food!!! Generous portions!!! Friendly staff!!! Had the house special phở with rice noodles a few days ago. Such great flavor in the broth. Also had spring rolls with pork belly. The rolls were large & tasty. I do not like cilantro or coriander. Our 1st bowl had the cilantro on the side(which is what we asked for) but the broth had coriander in it. I was willing to eat it, but the chef/owner wouldn’t hear of it. He took the bowl back & prepared another fresh bowl, sans coriander. All at no extra charge & smiles all around. Today, I ordered the house special with egg noodles & my wife ordered Loc Lan. Loc Lan was delicious. The eggs noodles were good too, but I prefer the rice noodles. And save from for the coffee jello dessert.

Great shaken beer, slightly shaky service.. . Wife and I tried the loc lac(shaken beef) and the Hainan chicken rice. Both were very excellent. The loc lac was very tender and flavorful and I enjoyed the plentiful amount of greens to go with it. The Hainan chicken rice was also excellent, although the chicken was a bit drier than I’d like. However, the really great dipping sauces and the super flavorful rice made up for it. The only thing that kept this place from the full five star treatment was the service. There was only one waiter working the dining area and although he was nice and earnest, he wasn’t firing on all cylinders. Even though we had five adults and a baby, he kept trying to cram us into a tiny table. He took our appetizer orders and dashed off before we could order everything else. And he was generally not Johnny-on-the-spot when it came to missing silverware, drinks, etc. Don’t know if he was overwhelmed, but it certainly was a struggle to get to the delicious food for us!

I feel like I went to a different place than all the people writing reviews. First, I find out when I get there that they don’t take cash. I had to use the ATM machine at the liquor store. Second, their portions are very small. The egg rolls I got were bite size. I thought this place was a Vietnamese restaurant. I’ve never seen bite size egg rolls. They had none of the garnish I’m used to when I eat Vietnamese food. Their sauce was also different. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. Third, I guess since their portions are so small they have to fill their hot food container with lettuce. Who puts hot food and what was a sad salad in the same container? Royal disappointment. I still have no idea what type of food this was supposed to be.

An accidental but lucky find. Our family of 4(2 boys 9 and 7) love this place . It’s our go to for Asian food . The broth is clean yet flavorful. They may not give sprouts and fixings with the phở but whenever I have asked for it they have obliged. I love the chicken phở but my husband swears by their beef soup with egg noodles . Beef skewers are worth the price. I can tell that I am eating high quality meat which has been prepared with time and love . We have also ordered some off menu items like Thai wings which are so delicious and perfect . We have been there many times and have never had a disappointing meal. My only gripe is that they don’t take credit cards as considering how many times our family eats here we could have racked some miles.

I had the green tea and beef noodles. I liked the chef’s passion for fresh/clean food. The soup broth had a very clean taste. I like that it doesnt have msg so i can have phở without that funny after taste in my mouth. The décor is very charming with hanging lights and a small mirror wall. The staff are friendly. :)

The prime beef noodle soup is top notch! This place delivers some of the best quality prime beef that you’ll ever find in an Asian phở restaurant. The owner Tim brings his LA urban restaurant experience to the South Bay blending Asian and French culinary classics in a quaint, relaxed atmosphere. It’s only a matter of time before there are long lines to get into this place.

Cozy restaurant with charm and friendly staff. I learned all their sauces and chili are handmade. Very impressive! If you like spice, I highly recommend you buy a jar for home. Appetizers: pickled vegetables, spring rolls, prawns, crispy roulettes. All four were very tasty and would order them again. I would say the pickled vegetables & roulettes were my favorite. The chef offered us a complimentary item not on the menu as a taste test and I hope she puts it on the menu. They were these extremely delicious beef skewers. I don’t know what was in it but that would be on my list of things to order again and probably one to go. No sauce needed they are that good. Entrée: prime beef noodle. If you’re a broth snob, you shouldn’t have any complaints. Just so you know this isn’t phở. Just ask the staff. Portions of noodles to beef and veggies is just right. I’m fairly particular when it comes to ingredient balance. It’s definitely the first thing I notice. But also the fact that there is giant bone in there with tendon and soup all up in that marrow… It’s making me salivate just thinking about it. Unfortunately we did not partake in dessert. All I know is that I left satisfied. Should I be in the area again, I’ll be putting this on my agenda. Thanks to the chef!

I have been wanting to eat here for some time. Last Friday evening my opportunity to do so finally arrived. I didn’t tell my wife where we were going for dinner. I just gave her the directions. We were not disappointed. First let me address the issue of pricing. Some reviews have stated that $ 8-$ 10 is too much for a bowl of phở. The large bowl is REALLY large. Their small bowl is the same size as many large bowls else where. The quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into the cooking are well worth the extra $ 2.00 of cost. If it’s still truly an issue with some of you, go to nearby Costco and dine on pizza for $ 2.17! My wife ordered the House prime and I had the no bone prime. The broth was very delicious with barely a hint of oiliness and it was not salty at all. The prime beef in my bowl was«melt in your mouth» tender and delicious! The bowls are not accompanied with plates of bean sprouts and basil leaves like you will find in most traditional phở eateries. The House prime bowl did come with some bean sprouts in it. I didn’t realize until afterwards that hey(!) I had no sprouts in my soup! We had a coffee jello for our dessert. I was ok, but not as good as it looked in the picture. We will definitely return. The food was excellent and the owner, chef, headwaiter, and master of all trades, Tim, was a warm, informative, and congenial host. I hope that they will be successful here. Go! It’s small, clean, and cozy. It’s great quality, taste, and hospitality. You will be not disappointed.

I’m a little surprised with such high ratings, the high ratings gave me high expectations but I left a little disappointed. I don’t know if they’re supposed to be americanized Vietnamese food or if they are representing another region. I always get chicken phở so I got the free range chicken noodles. The broth is clean tasting but it was bland. Dipping the chicken in the hoisen/chili sauce helped. No typical bean sprouts on the side. The noodles was cut… The summer rolls was good but not wow. 2 dipping sauce. A vinegar chili and peanut. The peanut sauce was way better. Cash only still… I’m a charge it to the game type of gal. I probably will try the rice plates, those look better than what I had so far.

Overrated and overpriced. Very small portions. I tried the spring rolls and egg rolls(they’re called something else here). I also tried the house prime rib soup. It comes with a hoison/jalepeno sauce. Although, everything was tasty and fresh, it’s just really hyped up. Try it for yourself though.

Nouilles of 3rds is a place full of surprises. Located at the corner of a small strip mall in Lomita, one would not expect to find a place like Nouilles of 3rds. The name of this place is intriguing and unlike any other. (I came to find out later that Nouilles is French for noodles and 3rds comes from the Rules of Thirds in photography.) Walking in, one will be surprised to find a small, cozy Vietnamese restaurant. Their menu though is not a typical Vietnamese menu however. They go bit outside of the box with their phở offerings with that include prime beef and free-range chicken. They also offer different appetizers via such items like crispy roulettes(mini egg rolls) and Asian herb butter prawns. I got to try the prime beef noodles and the home style free-range chicken noodles here. You can get them either in large size or small size and with rice or egg noodles. The small is $ 2 less. The small has a actually pretty good serving of noodles. Of the two noodles, I preferred the prime beef noodles better. The beef broth just seemed to have more flavor. The chicken was good was well but I feel that the beef was seasons more. I didn’t get to try the desserts here but I have to admit I was tempted to try the coffee jello or their Fosselman’s ice cream! The fresh coconut juice also looked delicious. This is a nice new place offering a little bit of a twist in Vietnamese cuisine. I enjoyed their take on noodle soups!

The man picked this spot to celebrate our small raise that kick off in 2016 for us. The place is a little small, but I like these kinds of restuarants. Small-simple menu to focus on the main dishes. What we ordered: Summer roll: The rolls itself was just ok: wrapped with shrimp, bites of pork belly, noodles, and greens. What made it yummy was the dipping sauce. The peanut sauce and the fish sauce was made slightly different from what I’m normally used to. Beef noodles: Man ordered it with the egg noodles. I enjoyed the broth. A little thicker than the usual phở broth, with a dash of sweetness to it, but not too much. Hainan Chicken: I wasn’t very impressed. I really enjoyed the rice, but the chicken was a little dry. The dipping sauces weren’t that great either. I like a little oil(sesame or olive oil) with the ginger mix. 3.5 for the food. A full 4 star overall because the service was very good. Since it wasn’t too busy, the gal was very attentive and friendly. I always appreciate the kindness of people in the service industry. This could be our«I’m craving vietnamese» go to spot. Cheers.

My husband found it on Unilocal, and suggested we try it. I’m happy we did! This little hole in the wall restaurant is located in one space in a small strip mall. There’s not a whole lot of seating, but they’ve got as many as possible. I’ve never had trouble finding a place to park in the parking lot, but if you do, there is street parking(just watch out for the posted signs). TIP: CASHONLY, bring the green! And… no alcohol is served here. It looks like they close daily from 3PM to 5PM. On the menu, I think that the first three items listed under«Specialty Plates» are soups. The other two are indeed plates. They serve water which is infused with cucumber, lime, orange, & I don’t know what all). It is pretty refreshing and healthy for you! We started off with Crispy Rollettes. I have to say those are small, but very tasty! Inside the rolls are shrimp, pork, jicama, carrots, onions and the sweet chili sauce is served in a cute spoon/condiment holder containing. Happy to say that these arrived piping hot! I had the House Prime Beef Noodles(a soup). The presentation had me saying, «Oh wow»! Then, I was like, «What am I supposed to do with the huge bone in the soup?». I know it definitely adds flavor, so that’s good! My husband recommended I get this one because it had a variety of things in it. I got the rice noodles as my noodles of choice. I didn’t care for the tendon as well as the big bone. I extracted both of those from my bowl so I could get on with chowing down! I enjoyed my soup after I fixed it to my liking! The bean sprouts which were brought out for my soup were warm, which was a surprise as I have always been brought only raw ones. Along with the soup, we were both given a little side dish with a sauce and a little pepper mix which they make there. We were told that we could dip our meat into it for added flavor. My husband pretty much dipped one piece of meat into it and then dumped the rest of what was in that little condiment plate into his bowl of soup. I continued dipping mine, lol! My husbby got the small Prime Beef Noodles(soup) with the egg noodles. He doesn’t really care for rice and the egg noodles were more like ramen, so it was perfect he had a choice! In my opinion, if you are looking for traditional Phở soup, this is not it. It is similar, though. It isn’t called Phở on the menu(or even soup, for that matter). If you have questions, just ask your server. Ours was very helpful and explained things we had questions about. I would be interested in trying a plate next time. Yes, there will be a next time! The only problem with this location is that a couple doors to the right and across the street are other places we had been eating at. So, this place will have to be tossed into the rotation! It is such an awful dilemma to have! :P Ooooh, they serve Fosselman’s Ice Cream? I missed it! Maybe next time, for sure!

Nouilles(pronounced«noise» meaning noodles in French) of 3rds(referring to the Rule of 3rds in Photography) is a MOST welcome addition to the South Bay dining scene. This casual eatery is in the shopping center at the northwest corner of Pennsylvania and PCH. It is small inside — three 4-tops, three 2-tops and a 3-top are all of the seating inside. It is tastefully decorated with wood benches(that snag — watch out!), wood tables and chairs and dark putty walls that are a ready canvas to exhibit the works of professional photographers. The service is warm, inviting and friendly. For their grand opening special, they are serving flavored green iced tea. I skipped the flavoring and just had the iced tea, which is AWESOME. It is super strong and flavorful. They also flavor their water with cucumber and orange, which is a refreshing option and love the attention to detail. The food is also delicious. We ordered Crispy Rollettes for the LO($ 5.50). This is essentially a pork-shrimp-carrot-onion sausage that is wrapped in rice paper and deep fried and served with a sweet-chili sauce. Delicious — the sausage is well seasoned, it is clearly freshly made and it was perfectly cooked. DM and I had two starters. First, the Crispy Veggie Rolls($ 5), which were three vegetarian egg rolls with cabbage, spouts, carrots, etc. in rice paper that were freshly fried and served with a sweet-chili sauce and hot sauce. These were very good and obviously made in house. Then, we had the Asian Pickled Vegetables($ 4). OMG — outstanding! A freshly, crispy pickled mélange of cauliflower, carrots, daikon, cabbage, ginger, etc. are refreshing and delicious. This is a must order. For our entrée, we each had a small bowl of the Prime Beef Soup($ 8/each). The meat stock is prepared for an entire day and allowed to chill overnight to remove the fat(the owner’s mother’s recipe). As a result, it is a rich bone broth without all of the fat but retaining all of the flavor. It is also cooked with Asian herbs, making it very flavorful. The soup was loaded with rice noodles and topped with thinly sliced prime beef that was tender and delicious and finished with fresh herbs. A «sauce» is brought — hoisin, minced jalapeño and lime — which adds a sweet heat to the soup. I devoured this. Pickled Vegetables and a small bowl of soup are my perfect meal. The great service and comfortable atmosphere are the icing on the cake. I can’t wait to come back. FYI: Strip mall parking, restroom is through the kitchen, cash only and no alcohol.

WOW! What a great addition to Lomita. I was looking through Unilocal and I found this gem! What can I say?! Well, first off this place is amazingly flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried this place during lunch time. Everything is awesome. Tim, the owner, is super nice and his food tho… so good. We basically tried everything on the menu and you can’t go wrong. Seriously, I’m being honest… everything is fresh and so flavorful. The crispy rollettes remind me of Filipino egg rolls(which they are basically lol) The butter prawns are fresh and good. The house prime beef noodles are awesome. Filling and the soup base is SOGOOD. They have bone marrow too. The free range chicken hai nam chicken is so yummy. This plate is so good and they give a generous amount. The prime beef loc lac is so tender and is my favorite! Ice tea wise, I’ve tried the peach and the mango. Peach is a little sweeter. Coffee jello for dessert is yummy! Also, the fosselman’s ice cream is smooth and creamy! Service is good and the food is even better. Good place to go for a family dinner or for date night. Parking is no problem and you won’t be disappointed with the food.

If you’re a local like me, you’ve been wondering what’s the deal with Nouilles of 3rds. Located in a quaint strip mall, this spot has been sitting idle for quite sometime until today. There were a lot of building issues that held up the opening, but now that’s all clear we’ve got a new local contender serving a combination of fusion Asian food with a splash of home-style cooking. I was recommended the House Prime Beef noodles. It was basically a supped up version of Phở with it’s own twist. This is a dam good bowl of soup and noodles. The first thing I noticed was how delicious and flavorful the meat was. A million times better than all of the other local options in the same genre. I’ll most definitely return and try out the rest of the menu. Anddd they have lemon/cucumber water :) visit for more reviews and photos!
