I ordered the grilled pork sandwhich with no pepper, and extra cilantro. When I opened my sandwich, there was pepper and they literally put a single stem of cilantro on it with no more than 2 cilantro leaves on it… I know that Lee’s is a franchise, but I noticed this location had raised their prices by $ 1 from the original price. Not sure if this is a franchise issue, or if all Lee’s decided to raise the price? Regardless, for nearly a $ 5 sandwhich, my expectations were not met.

This was my first visit to this Mr. Lee’s location… Worst spring roll I ever had. Not fresh! Super hard!!! I went there in the am to pick up something quick for my lunch. I actually wanted the spring roll with shrimp, but the girl said they didn’t have any they only had the veggie spring rolls… Seriously, you are a sandwich shop, you couldn’t make it? So the girl(Carmen) offered again to sell me the veggie spring roll, I agreed. HUGEMISTAKE. I’ve been to a couple Mr. Lee’s around and they have all made my Spring Roll fresh! I will never come back. My advice to the reader… stay away.

I can say the workers are nice every time I go. The one issue I have is the same issue I have from the Lee’s on Carson street in Torrance, The owner/manager. Slightly over barring and makes things very confusing. Went there and ordered a sandwich when he wasn’t there and it was just Fab, go to order a sandwich and he took me order… Thumbs down! #1 Took forever, #2 sandwich did not turn out right, #3 Made me late for work. I do see the company cutting back on product as a whole and raising prices. Will possible find another spot for my sandwich needs.

This place is always consistent when it comes to sandwich making. Even though I live in the westside and work at LAX, I don’t mind the drive out to the South Bay to pickup a good ol’ banh mi. Place is clean, inexpensive, and good customer service. Ample parking in the lot attached, and easy connivence to the adjoining Starbucks. Wish they had a Lee’s sandwich in the west la area. Overall grade: A

Used to frequent this place, but hadn’t been for about 6 months, until today. The sandwiches prices have gone up, over a dollar more, and they’re super skimpy on the meat. The sandwich is tasty, and the bread is really good, but if I’m paying nearly $ 5 for a small sandwich, I would like more value for my money. The staff were nice, but I think I’ll find a new bahn mi spot. Sad to see they’ve changed :(

Wow! What great foood! Coffe is amazing and strong. Sandwiches are fresh and full of flavor. Customer service is also excellent. They also have a lot of random stuff like cookies and drinks. Parking lot is good as well. Over all its a really good place.

Ehhhh or more like Blah! Ok so maybe I’m biased because I grew up in this culture and surrounded by truly authentic food, this place is more like the McDonald’s of the Vietnamese community. I only go here to avoid driving out to little Saigon whenever I get a craving. They have a very mediocre selection of items and the sandwiches are more bread than anything else. Ehhhh… I guess if you’ve never had real viet food then this place will do. Otherwise lower your expectations and you should be fine. The pre-items are fine since they’re not actually made by lee’s Their coffee is good! I do come back a lot solely for the coffee.

I remember the time when we just happened to be in OC and the first thing that came to my mind when looking for a good deal was Lee’s Sandwiches. Sandwiches were good and you could get them for cheap! Not here, you gonna pay for what you get… and hopefully you get it… Sandwiches are still pretty good, but its hit or miss. Sometimes you get enough meat, sometimes you don’t. They still make their bread fresh and all the ingredients seem to be good quality, its just now with all the price increases, I gotta start scrutinizing the details. I probably didn’t notice the details in the OC locations cause they were so cheap, but here, at like $ 5 a sandwich, I’m gonna hold you to a higher standard. So basically, prices have gone WAY up and they might skimp on the the meat between the buns depending on how good of a day the guy behind the counter is having. Iced coffee, still on point. Strong and creamy. As is the Thai Iced Tea. Can’t comment on the other foods since I really come here for the Grilled Pork Sandwich and the wife comes for the Pâté. Both of us have the same experience. Basically, go ahead and charge us, but the higher the cost, the higher the expectation… And you’re not meeting the higher expectation. This place would probably be a 3 or 4 at the original prices.

Can somebody PLEASE, I repeat, please, tell me wtf this is? I am so freaked out right now. That was supposed to be a chicken pâté chaud… The bottom one is a «pork steamed bun». The smell is rank. Those pieces of black coal looking things are rock hard. No idea what that yellow thing is? Is this normal? I don’t remember steamed buns like this — ATALL. And I’ve never had one of those pâté things. I had a craving for boa. Obviously I’m White and I have no idea wtf is going on .lol. So I came to this place at 9pm trying to get a bbq pork steamed bun. They had one left. And I decided to grab one of those chicken pâté things too. Please tell me this is not normal. I honestly can’t even call this food. It is repulsive. And rock hard. All of it-both items– inside & out. I can’t believe the owner — who seemed nice– sold me that shit. Unbelievable. Whatever is inside the pâté and the disgusting hard bun are literally like pieces of coal. Solid rock. It’s trippn. And gross. And the smell. I’m dead.

02/05/2016 — Fist time at this location: I ordered the #5 grilled pork sandwich with extra meat and avocado, no jalapeños. The sandwich was smothered with avocado on top(yum). I was a quarter into my sandwich when a guy used cleaning spray and cleaned every table but where I was sitting. Soon the whole room smelled or cleaning spray and made it difficult to eat. Then another guy mopped the floor. I felt like I was eating the cleaning spray. I walked out as soon as that happened. I couldn’t stand the smell any longer. I understand keeping your store clean but don’t spray close to a paying customer, especially mid-bite. That was my only complaint, otherwise, the sandwich was good.

Mehhhh. Over the years what you get for your money has definitely declined. I remember when a sandwich was $ 3.50 now they’re $ 4.50 with less meat. You can pay I think $.50 for extra meat though. My go to is the barbeque pork, number 5 with an iced coffee. Grab a baguette if you want to make it at home.

I went here to pick up an avocado shake for my wife, and picked up some sandwiches for a late lunch. Cashier Andy V. was very helpful and courteous, helping me with my choices since this was my first time here. I had the Lee’s club sandwich(beef, ham turkey and cheese) and my son had pork meatball without veggies. The club sandwich was solid with a fresh baguette — and filling for the price point. The pork meatball without veggies was fine, but would be pretty good with all of the proper ingredients of the way it was designed to be ordered. The avocado smoothie was great, we will definitely be coming back for this unusual drink in the near future. It’s creamy, sweet, and most importantly, allows the avocado flavor to shine through instead of overpowering it with any other flavors. The strawberry smoothie was good, too, but I would stick with the avocado smoothie. It would be nice if Lee’s Sandwiches could open in the West L.A. area.

When this Lee’s location opened up in Torrance, I was skeptical of how it would do. Also being Vietnamese, whenever someone mentions Lee’s and puts it in the same sentence with«best Vietnamese sandwiches I’ve ever had», I scratch my head a bit. I get the appeal though. Who could resist a 10-foot banh mi for only $ 2? For the value that it’s worth, it will be the best $ 2 you’ve ever spent. With all of the flavors, It’s a great fast food alternative in my opinion. Now, I haven’t seen baguettes that cheap in a very long time. The only catch is that it’s not the most flavorful, so don’t expect anything completely mind blowing. I really like their avocado smoothies, and I don’t really go for those exotic drinks. Since they are the largest banh mi chain in the country, they have expanded at an incredibly fast rate, so you’ll probably be seeing more of Lee’s Sandwiches in the near future.

I’ve been here about 6 times now. Each time, I was naively optimistic, thinking, maybe… just maybe… today I’ll get a good sandwich. Yesterday I ordered 2 sandwiches to go(special combination). The girl helping me was really rude and handed me the credit card slip and told me «you can leave a tip.» ??? No, thanks sister. I tip 90% of the time, even for counter service places like Lee’s, but I’m not going to tip bad service. I get my sandwiches and go home. First thing I notice is that they forgot the jalapenos, which the special combination or combination sandwich really needs(I also made sure to ask the cashier to not forget the jalapenos, lol, go figure!). It was also covered in mayo! I used a napkin to wipe off globs of mayo from the inside of the sandwich. Halfway into the sandwich, I bite into something hard and sharp. A piece of hard plastic. I’m almost laughing crazily at this point… there is no way this sandwich could be worse. I didn’t even bother calling them to complain. A lack of professionalism in the staff and lack of pride in making the sandwiches doesn’t really set me up to believe management will be any different. This is the worse Lee’s location I’ve ever been to. Banh mi is one of my favorite foods and I am one step away from having a shrine devoted to them in my house. I would rather never eat one again than eat another one from this location. ~~Goodbye, banh mi, you deserved better my sweet friends~~

Service quick and staff is very friendl and helpful. The restaurant is very clean. Because it’s early, it’s not that busy but normally it’s super busy so I would recommend phoning your orders in. I like the Asian sandwiches, with pork and a K. I usually request no jalapeño and Extra cilantro and no onion. As for European sandwiches, I recommend the turkey and Swiss. I always order a baguette to go. They’re always freshly baked every day

Not my favorite Lee’s but once in a while, I crave a Bahn Mi. And since I don’t commute to OC anymore, I caved in despite the lukewarm Unilocalers’ reviews. I first came here over a year ago and in browsing reviews, someone mentioned a $ 3.80 Bahn Mi. Now 10mths later, it is now $ 3.99 — looks like they are steadily raising prices. And at the same time, less grilled pork and more pickled veggies fillings. Oh well. I’ll be fair. One star for quick service and easy parking. And a second star for satisfying my craving. That’s all. In no rush to be back.

Not a fan at all. Ordered the BBQ pork banh mi. The meat itself is too chewy and weird; it also lacks a lot of flavor. It’s just gross, so I just took out everything and eating just the baguette alone. The pork egg rolls are okay I guess… also lacks a bit of flavor. I have to full-on dip it into sriracha or something to get some sort of flavor in your mouth. This location is a lot smaller than what I am used to seeing, having grown up in Orange County. I’m used to seeing an assortment of other Vietnamese snacks and treats, but they don’t have any of that here.

I tried the chicken banh mi. The meat was acceptable, not great, not bad. Overall, the sandwich was dry due to very little of the Vietnamese condiment they smear the bread with. Very reasonable, under $ 4 for a chicken sandwich on a 10 inch baguette. Lee’s also has American sandwiches. A sign states the seating capacity is only 29. In a mini mall with a parking lot. Bottom line, I will wait until I visit friends who live in Westminster and eat in Little Saigon.
