I got the Glendale sandwich and it was really delicious. And very large. Definitely a ton of food, so it made it a very good value. Definitely a good cart to check out if you’re looking for a breakfast sandwich that’s just a little bit outside the ordinary fare. I highly recommend it!

The softer rolls are an improvement over the tough baguette that required teeth sawing to get through. Always delish.

This sandwich was thrown together which I could get passed but the few pieces of squash on my muffin was raw.

Hadn’t been to Yolk in awhile. Food is always good, usually incomprehensibly slow. Today food arrived speedily with a beautiful easy egg. Hot sauce is very flavorful, not nearly hot enough for my taste. Hopefully this expedience will last. Five stars until I get another slow meal.

I don’t know if it was because we were super hungry, or if this place was really just that good, but this place really hits the spot for breakfast in the morning. We got the Glendale, Lena’s Sammie and the roasted potatoes with herbs. GLENDALE: Sautéed onions, peppers, and sausage with scrambled eggs on a baguette. Everything about that combination was fantastic — with the sauté not making the onions and peppers super oily like at other places. LENA’S: Ham, eggs, and apple on a muffin. Definitely the better of the two that we got. The ham and apple made for an amazing combination in the morning as a breakfast combination. POTATOES: Definitely a side dish and the weakest of the three things we ordered, but still good nonetheless. This place is just a food cart on the corner of SE48th& Woodstock. Find parking on the street or by the library(you probably won’t have to wait too long if you come for breakfast)!

Get the roasted potatoes with the sandwich can’t go wrong with that although it was my first time there and won’t be my last. Trying all on the menu!

Who needs this? Snotty rude service, 1 egg sandwich took 20 minutes. Woman who took my order at the window didn’t bother to tell me it would be 20 minutes, didn’t ask if I wanted anything on my sandwich, just gave me a snotty hipster smile and took my money. I have not had good experiences at toast either. Sandwich was mediocre. Won’t go here again.

Good sandwiches, good service, good price, good coffee. Took a star off for running out of ingredients a few times. Should let customers know better before they wait in line forever.

I ordered The Sandwich with greens. This was my first visit, and unfortunately maybe my last. The bread was oddly chewy, and the sandwich did not contain much egg. To me it was lacking a lot of flavor also. Sad day.

I love Yolk! I live in the neighborhood and have been eating here for many years. I am always happy with the food, it is delicious! I love the english muffins! The Yolk muffins are freshly baked, they are so much better than the Thomas’ Original English Muffins. They use fresh, in season produce. The braised greens are perfectly cooked and seasoned. I love how the sandwich is a little messy. It’s a delicious, buttery texture. You will need some napkins! Both the vegetarian and meat selections are delicious. All the meats taste incredible, from the vegan sauteed portobello and squash, to the bacon, ham, or sausage. I am a big fan of the Yolk’s owner, Donald Kotler. I love eating at his other restaurants, including Bird + Bear, and Toast.

This place is delicious! You definitely have to get there early-ish because they tend to run out of ingredients because they are so popular. I usually get the Brother Bad Ass. If you are into food carts you will love this place.

Walked over to Yolk one weekday morning with my kids because we had heard good things about it and it’s very close to us. First, I had to remove a star for them not taking cards(come on people…) I realized this after I ordered(my fault but still) and trekked across the street to the atm with my kids while he cooked our order. They were out of potatoes(pretty much their only side item) and I changed my sandwich a bit(scrambled egg rather than broken egg). Overall, I thought the food was too expensive and nothing at all special. There was an odd taste to one of the sandwiches and my husband identified it as Brussels sprouts(he was right). I love Brussels sprouts, but in a breakfast sandwich? No thanks. I doubt we’ll try it again. Too many yummy places around here to bother.

I love Yolk. I really do… BUT: I just left with my Mary and had a lamb sandwich… Person taking the order asked if I wanted cheese… I wanted cheese. Cheese is $ 1. The charge for cheese was added but cheese did not appear on sandwich. I would like cheese added to my next sandwich, free of charge. Thank you.

The Great Escape is awesome!!! You can add Ham to the Roasted Squash, Mustard, Creamed Spinach & Egg on house-made English Muffin. Seriously, I need the recipe for these homemade English muffins. To DIE for!

FRESHENGLISHMUFFINS! So good I love these sandwiches:))) They are a little messy though so I wouldn’t recommend driving and eating… Or eating it in your car really at all. Best breakfast sandwich!

They have great coffee! Home made English muffin was good, but under griddled after waiting 20 minutes for it. The seasonal spring vegetables were okay, braised greens and carrots. Wonder how this cloud in the sky sandwich or whatever it is sandwich is different then the braised greens sandwich. The egg was cooked PERFECT, but over all it was not that great of egg sandwich. They are real nice there, but the combo of having to wait so long when there was only 1– 2 orders a head of me and 2 people working and a so so sandwich does not lure me back. They were moving slow which is cool, but not for me.

I went off Paleo for Yolk and boy was it worth it!!! Yolk’s sandwiches are divine!!! I had a soft egg on a homemade English muffin with braised greens, white cheese, and carmelized onions. It was divine! Honestly, the English muffin puts it over the edge; I’ve never had one homemade, and the flavors and textures are top-notch. It’s also only $ 5. My partner had Brother($ 7) with a bbq’d pork belly(too fatty for her), but the dijon mustard, cheddar, and greens on a homemade pretzel were incredible! A homemade pretzel bread: ingenious!!! Yolk is in a bright yellow cart in Woodstock, and is owned, I think, by the same people as Toast, which I love. But, not as much as Yolk.

One time, Yolk ran out of baguettes for The Sandwich and offered to substitute an English muffin. I didn’t think I really liked English muffins but I was like, ugh, fine. First world problems. Turns out, these suckers are soft and homemade and so satiating. I’ve never looked back. And look at me now: I’m a duchess! From what I understand, being a royal can present a lot of stress. Family obligations, public expectations, so on, so forth. But there’s none of that here. No scandals to be revealed. My only obligation is to benevolently rule over quality breakfast foods from this always friendly cart on the regular. Ooh and to remember to bring cash. But not even that much cash($ 4 will get you a pretty filling sandwich), which makes the waiting in the rain or cold so much more palatable. Suffice it to say, unlike more notorious duchesses, you certainly won’t see me serving as a spokesperson for Weight Watchers any time soon. Speaking of English muffin(top)s.

One word: YUM! Drove up Woodstock the other day and was delighted to see another cart had opened up in my hood. Also delighted to find that they served breakfast sandwiches since I have recently been craving them(out of nowhere! I swear!). This place has made me happy on all counts! I got their impressively priced($ 4) breakfast sandwich, named The Sandwich. It had delightfully fluffy eggs, a good portion of ham, and enough cheese to squeeze out the side as all good cheese portions must. It was served on a warm baguette that was perfectly crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside. I added some Chalula since I like all breakfasts to contain hot sauce, and let me tell you, my tummy was happy! The nice guy there gave me a coupon for a $ 2 breakfast sandwich next time I go, which will be soon! They’re still working out their exact hours but so far he’s thinking 9 – 2:30 or so. And they will be open on the weekends, also at 9. Yay! I’m not sure why a previous reviewer felt it necessary to promote Toast throughout her review. Yes, this cart has the same owners, but no, it is not the same place. It should be reviewed on its own merits and not feel like a shameless plug for Toast(ToastToastToastToast). Genie’s and Bar Carlo are my normal go-to breakfast spots, among other places when I’m venturing out of my area or meeting friends for brunch, but when I want to go grab a quick high quality sandwich for incredibly cheap I will definitely be heading to Yolk! PS: Try their housemade hot sauce. Super awesome yum!
