Always friendly staff, great service and wonderful manicure/​pedicures. Leila usually does my nails and she does an incredible job! Definitely my favorite nail salon in SE!

From first time customer to fourth time customer. Definitely a hole in the wall nail shop. Affordable, friendly environment, and exceptional service.

I’ve been having my nails done for years and relocated recently to the Belmont Sunnyside area. Found this salon and gave it a try. After my third time here I can say this, if you want your nails done at a place where you are constantly charged bogus fees, and tacked on costs mid service, come here! I was surprised somewhat because I’ve never had a salon do this to me after I’ve been coming for awhile. I’m a good tipper and that generally minimizes the fees that mysteriously accrue over the course of my manis, pedis etc. In this case it made things worse… as if I had more money to afford the tack on fees. Even though I would try calling ahead… referencing a menu… etc. If and when I did this, I was treated entirely different, service for the remainder of my appointment took a nose dive. I was barely spoken to. I’ve also had them try to use subpar products on me for the sake of making a sale.
Anyways… you get the picture. Cross the street to american apparel and take a right. there is a cute little house there that does good nails. They will not do this to you.

This place rocks– my pedicure will last well over a month, shellac every 2 ½ weeks. Perfect! Every employee is skilled, knowledgeable and friendly. I could never go anywhere else! Oh and it’s totally reasonable $.

I luv this place, it’s a lot higher than my usual Crenshaw prices but great quality n they did excellent on my design I made up … I recommend this place to any one, very polite not rude n relaxing

Super Great Little Manicure!
Located in the super popular Hawthorne neighborhood, it’s façade is super run down looking on the outside. However, so are the rest of the businesses on the street. Probably the landlord’s deal.
I needed a manicure desperately. So, I was like «whatever»!
Once inside it’s very comfortable and attractive. Excellent quality chairs. They looked brand new. The lighting was great too.
Pretty busy little place for early afternoon. That’s a good sign.
The lady tried to talk me into shellac twice. It’s fine! We all gotta try. I just needed a super quick fix. My nails were a mess and I had to get on with my afternoon.
My lady did a very nice hand and arm massage. I’m a dental hygienist, so my arm and hands need some focus! It was great! She took her time and did a great job.
She could have been a little more detail oriented with my color. Black is hard, I know. However that’s why I was having her do it.
I’ll survive.

I wanted to give this place more stars. In fact, despite the fact that I waited 20 minutes when they told me five and they were generally dismissive of me, I was going to give it 3 stars. My manicure turned out great, as did my eyebrows. Both included really nice massages that made my head and arms and hands all feel tingly and amazing. My problems with this place are the two following things:
1) I asked for a mani, which on the sign said it was 7 dollars. They asked if I wanted shellac, and I agreed. It wasn’t until she’d already gotten the polish on that she told me the shellac was $ 18, not $ 7. Okay. Thanks. I still wanted shellac and because it was for a night out, I was willing to continue. In fact, the massage probably made it worth that much anyways.
2) When I was checking out, she handed the receipt back to me with a pen and insisted I give her more. ’”10 for each of us.” Nuff said. That was the rudest and most humiliating thing I’ve ever had done. That was enough to drive me out. I’m bummed because otherwise the place was affordable and clean, but there are plenty of other salons on Hawthorne that offer this service and probably don’t feel entitled enough to do things like that. It was galling and frustrating, especially when the price went up $ 10 in the middle of the service.

Went in for an eyebrow wax. Got that, and more. The first time I’ve ever got a brow massage, as well. And all for $ 10. I’m so pleased. I’ll bring my friends in for pedicures, come spring. Excellent.

I love everyone that works here! First they do the most amazing (& CHEAP!) eyebrow waxing and great mani & pedi. They always do their best to fit you into their schedule (it IS best to call ahead!). Also the clientele who go here are always a mix of genders which is exciting to see too! A+++ all the way.

Such a bummer. Came in for a pedicure… I was left un attended many times as my technician left to attend multiple walk in waxing clients. I asked for french tips… they are all uneven and one is already chipping hours later.
Worst pedicure of my life… nice girls but this was BAD.

With so many nail joints within stones-​throw, I have to say Top Ten really rises above. You wouldn’t know from outside just how sleek and pristine the salon is inside. As far as service, well, they stayed open over an hour longer passed listed business hours to accommodate me and my two friends. At no point did we feel rushed, they still offered all the extra bells and whistles. We all received awesome pedicures. I will absolutely make this my go-​to nail salon in SE, you should too!

I’ve been going to this place on and off over the years. Each time I go I’m not sure what quality of service I’m going to receive. This last time was the worst. They were crowded and instead of saying come back they insisted I would receive service soon. I waited 20 minutes until someone finally began my pedicure. Service was rushed. They do nickel and dime you with extra services, which feels uncomfortable. The worst part of my service was the manicure. I timed my manicure (shellac and French manicure) to about 15 minutes. She gave me the fastest manicure ever and it was horrible. The whites of the French manicure was sloppy and thick. She knew it too because she said come back if you are unhappy. I sum up this terrible service to greed. Instead of giving quality service they pack clients in and churn them out. I’m done with this place and won’t be going back.

Visiting from NY last week, I had a free hour and decided to do something about a worn-​out mani and overgrown brows. I got a gel manicure and eyebrow wax and was so happy with both. The extra time and attentiveness were great and this place has a genuinely relaxing vibe. Or maybe that’s just Portland? Anyway, I will be back next time I’m in town!

I’ve been coming here since 2010. Same great service, but now the space looks beautiful. The aestheticians are all really nice and polite. It’s clear they take a lot of pride in their work, and want you to be happy. The leg/​feet/​arm/​hand massage are worth every penny of their reasonably priced mani/​pedis. As long as they’re around I’ll keep coming back.

So, I’ve been here before and LOVED it. This time I was disappointed. Anytime I’ve had a pedicure they’ve worked on my callouses, but when I sat down she told me it was $ 5 extra. I’d rather they included this in the service and raised the price, rather than have a reduced experienced and get nickeled and dimed for everything. But, the massage was great, and the service was nice.

A week later my nail Polish is already coming off. Typically I can go three weeks. Probably the worst manicure I’ve ever gotten.

They completely remodeled the salon and it looks great! We went a month ago and were pleased with the service. We went again today and thought we were in the wrong place! New chairs, floor, fixtures, paint – complete make-​over. I had a problem with the polish on a nail and they were very anxious to fix it. The owner even offered a re-​polish in a different color. Apparently, I chose a new color (not OPI) and they were not happy with the way it performed. From now on I will pick an OPI polish, but I will keep going to Top Ten Nails. Great SLOW mani/​pedi.
Good detailed service — I believe that my cuticles etc. were well attended to.
Very long lasting mani-​pedi — I took my red polish off nearly 2 weeks later.
Nice staff — even though it was late, the tech was super sweet and did not rush at all.
There’s a TV — if that’s your thing. I went back & forth between watching the news & reading a magazine.
This is a «take your time to pamper yourself» kind of place (on a budget), not an «I’m in a rush but my nails look f*ing terrible so please fix them now» kind of place.

Meh… dirty! And an extra $ 5 to remove shellac when its free everywhere I have been. I just was at Dosha and last minute decided to go in for a pedi. No offer of water, but they’d love to sell you old navy flip flops.

I love me some Top 10 Nails and became a regular shortly after moving to the ‘hood in 2005.
Sure it’s right-​around-​the-​corner-​convenient and at $ 20 for a pedicure the price is certainly right, but the real reason I keep going back is that the owners and staff are just so darn nice. In my experience it’s by far one of the most neighborhood-​friendly mom and pop places that line Hawthorne; in fact I’d bet money that if Norm from Cheers were to walk in everyone would actually know his name!
Top 10 Nails isn’t fancy, but it’s always clean and my toes look fabulous for weeks after. Oh and if you’re up for a walk on the wild side, spend an extra couple of bucks and buy yourself the best French pedicure in town.
PS: I’m still trying to figure out a way to smuggle one of their massage chairs out the door with me. ;)
