Came here to get a few quest bars and chips. They were just as expensive as Vancouver but it was s good way to stock up on bars for the long ride home. Store is very well stocked and organized. Very large. Customer service was awesome.

Looked EVERYWHERE for empty gelcaps/capsules and they were the ONLY place that had em in stock! Literally called a dozen pharmacies/Fred Meyers(where I used to get em until they just stopped carrying them, and I don’t know why)/Walmart/even head shops… Finally just gave up and googled: Portland or store that carries capsules and this place was only place that had em. Staff answered right away when I called to check their stock. 100 capsules for 3.95. Good deal! Bought them at happy valley location.

Generally, The Vitamin Shoppe is what it is wherever you go. I’m the type of person who knows what I want– if it’s not in stock at a store, I walk out and find it elsewhere or curl up into a ball until it arrives after I’ve ordered it online. This weekend I learned why that behavior might not be the best way to go all the time. I had a delightful customer service experience at this location while shopping for a pre-workout supplement. I was helped by a guy who was personable, well informed, and well versed about the products they had and the type of product I was looking for. We discussed what results and type of workout I would be doing, as well as concerns and side effects known about them. He had an idea of what he wanted to sell me, but took the time to show me comparable products, weighed the pros and cons, and was not pushy about getting me to buy what I didn’t want. If you’re in the area, and you’re on the fence about whether to go here or not– Give this location a try. When have I ever steered you wrong?

I’m VERY happy to know this store is in NE Portland. The product lines and variety they carry is extensive from homeopathic medicine, quality protein powders(vegan, raw, and other), supplements of all kinds, appliances, etc. The staff was there if I needed them, and didn’t follow me around if I didn’t. They were respectful and didn’t automatically assume I was an idiot, and offered their help if I needed it — but kept their distance. They were friendly, and approachable without the constant«upselling» you get from their competitors at Vitamin World(another store I just won’t go back to). Admittedly I was a bit wary of the staff due to a previously bad/rude/apathetic/condescending service experience at the Beaverton/Hillsboro location. This is important because the horrible attitudes of the manager at that OTHER store almost kept me from seeking out whether there were other locations. I’m SO glad I just gave it another shot and tried this Lloyd Center Location. it was worth it and I will be back. THANKYOU!!!

I used to go to VS regularly when I lived in NYC. I was really happy to hear they were coming to Portland. The prices are generally better than any of the other retailers — with the exception of Vitamin World. However, VS has gotten a lot better at beating the prices at VW. They have an excellent selection and even have some things that they don’t list on the site. For instance, I was able to get a water filter that I needed right away and was happy to find it here cheaper than at Whole Foods. While the prices are cheaper than at most retail locations, it is still possible to find prices cheaper on the internet. Keep that in mind. If you aren’t in a hurry and can buy in bulk to save on shipping, you can still find better deals on the net — even at VS online. I don’t like that their online prices don’t always match their retail store prices. This location is at Lloyd Center, right next to the Dollar Tree. Convenient location. The drawback though is that it seems to close earlier than most places at the mall. I have gone there a few times expecting it still to open and it was closed. Most of the mall stores close no earlier than 9PM most days(earlier on Sundays). They appear to close at 8 at the latest.
