Wells Fargo Bank

I wanted to convert dollars to Euros for an upcoming trip. I went to the downtown main bank for Wells Fargo. The clerk failed to explain that the bank imposed a 3% fee on the exchange. When I saw the difference (fortunately I had my phone queued up to double-​check the math), she said Wells Fargo didn’t go by the official exchange rate; they have «their own rate.» Well that rate was 3%. You might as well pay the foreign transaction fee with a standard credit card and not carry so much cash around. What I disliked most was the failure to disclose in the first place. I just think a bank should have the highest ethical standards. They are entrusted with out money.

Don’t bother getting anything notarized there. The notary did not understand the rules well, and was too afraid to follow the instructions of my lawyer. A big waste of time. Go to other Wells Fargo branch instead. The notary also just wanted his break and was not customer service oriented.

It wasn’t an easy task shopping for a new bank and finding the right one, right branch, etc. So glad I found the Lloyd Wells Fargo! Raena Cota and Mike Kofford have both been so incredibly helpful and accommodating. So much appreciated!

I had a poor initial experience with this bank. I should have known walking in, when I was assaulted by a fellow customer that it was going downhill. Not that I hold this establishment accountable for that.
But I went in to purchase some Canadian currency as their website specifically explains their standard operating hours with an international teller. I go in and stand in line during the specified times only to learn that the «international teller» has in fact gone home and I’ll need to return another day. I was then told to be sure to come in during the morning next time to ensure what I wanted was available. I understand the currency is «first come, first served» but upon calling before my next visit, I was told that was not necessary. Consistency in communication particularly with retail is pretty important if you ask me.

I am as anti-​bank as it gets. I do most of my banking at my credit union. As it turns out, this month I had to open an account at a normal bank~ this one~ much to my chagrin… this was because of a little drama with one of my tenants. Never mind the sob story, but in order to get the rent owed to me, I needed to open an account here. I was really pleasantly surprised! Mike, at the Lloyd Center branch absolutely held my hand, walked me through every single detail, explained everything, handled every question and concern I had… Really! I couldn’t believe how helpful he was!.. It makes me really reconsider my obsession with credit unions. Mike is simply fabulous & Wells Fargo is lucky to have him. Thanks for everything!!!

I love my neighborhood, but there are no banks close to my house. The only ATM’s within walking distance are those sketchy portable kiosks that charge three bucks. Those ATM bandits are withdraw only, of course, so any other banking transactions I need to accomplish require a special trip in the car. That makes me grouchy.
Gratefully, the folks at this Wells Fargo branch and always very friendly. I’m greeted with a pleasant hello and some amicable chit-​chat. Nice folks.

I’ve never liked Wells Fargo. I forgot this when I went here today to buy some foreign currency. I was quickly reminded, however.
First, I looked online to see where I could buy some foreign currency because it was a Saturday and I knew that most of the big banks would be closed. I was happy to use Wells Fargo tool that found an «international teller» for me and told me that this location was open on Saturday from 10am-​2pm. So, we headed down there. We walked up to the «foreign currency exchange» window and stood there for a bit. Finally, someone walked up and said that «we have Euros, but I can’t sell them to you today because we don’t know what rate to sell it at on Saturday.»
REALLY? Your website, the one specifically meant for finding places to buy currency, says you’re open today. Your excuse for not selling it was that you don’t know what rate to sell it at? Have you heard of the internet? I’m sorry, Wells Fargo, but get with the times. First, you have the ability to get ²⁴⁄₇ real time quotes that you could adapt into your own system. Second, YOU BOUGHT IT YESTERDAY, IT WOULDN’T COST YOU ANY MORE TO SELL IT AT FRIDAY’S RATE WHEN YOU CLEARLY DIDN’T BUY IT AT A HIGHER RATE ON SATURDAY.
Oh common sense. How I miss ye.
