The UPS Store

This is the place I travel to whenever I need to send out a package. Each time I visit the staff have been super nice and accommodating to any of my shipping needs.
I tend to ship things on a semi-​regular basis as my family in Reno are often requiring shipments of Aardvark sauce and I tend to rent many of my school textbooks.
Once I had to ship our something that was fragile and valuable in a sentimental way. The staff were able to package things up to they would have a higher probability of arriving without being damaged.
I enjoy that this UPS Store is in the same shopping center as my credit union (Advantis) as well as a Whole Foods and a public library. The only think I’m not a fan of is the parking lot for this shopping center (This is of no fault to the UPS Store of course!). I have often found it easier and less stressful to park in the neighborhood and walk over.

I agree with the other reviewers about the poor customer service. We’re on vacation in Portland and sent a package to the UPS store the other day. By the wording on the website, it seemed like that was a free service but they charge $ 15 for that unless you reroute through their My Choice online. We were unhappy about the charge, but we were still being nice and civil about it. We were willing to pay it because we accepted the fact that we’re tourists and didn’t know better. Yet customer service representative Laura was just so mean the way she talked to us as if we were stupid or as if we were being difficult refusing to pay it (which we totally weren’t). She didn’t have to be so mean. We felt horrible for the rest of the day. One star for ruining our Christmas.

I own my own business and work with some high-​end clients. For the past two years I have frequently made shipments from this UPS Store location. The ONE time something didn’t arrive when it was suppose to, which was the fault of the driver, not the staff at this store, they promptly got me in touch with their manager and I was issued a refund. These guys are accurate, quick and I feel totally confident in their abilities.

I’m surprised by the reviews that compliment customer service at this location. I’ve never had anything but bad attitude from most of the staff, with a few exceptions. I ship a lot of packages and have dropped in here once or twice a week for 6 months. I’ve tried niceties, I try to be fast and efficient when they are busy. But, to no avail. Being treated like a customer, instead of an inconvenience, is pretty important to me. Unfortunately, I will be driving further away to another location from here on out.

Package donkey Robert was totally unhelpful and rushed me out of the store. Curt & rude with no customer service at all. I will choose another shipping option in the future or at the very least, a different UPS location.

All the ups employees have been very helpful. About while a go I had a diabetic issue minutes before they closed and she took care of my faxing needs and let me run next door to buy juice. Today Raine, went above and beyond. The store is always a great place and lightens my mood after work!

I never thought I’d leave a review for a UPS store but this one was great. Don and his crew were very helpful. They had a computer glitch while waiting for my job to print so I strolled over to whole foods for a coffee and by the time I came back my job was printed and ready to go. They were also sensitive to the fact that I was sending legal documents and took extra care with my order!

Robert helped me today and was extremely fast and helpful! I sent him 3 emails with shipping labels, invoices, and other things that needed to be printed. Needless to say I wasn’t organized and was almost a mess. Robert immediately opened the emails, printed everything that needed to be printed, packaged my items perfectly into boxes, and finished the sale in a matter of minutes. They had 3 other people on staff there at the time as well that were ready to help others, so that made me feel good as well!
Great place if you’re looking to print and ship items in a hurry for a decent price.

The employees here are fantastic! I have been shipping frozen breastmilk to California and they have helped every step of the way, from which box to use to how fast to get it there to how to pack it. They are informative and reliable and happy to go the extra mile. I can’t say enough good things about this UPS store. I highly recommend them!

I just sent an amazon return and I think it was the easiest, most pleasant return I’ve ever had! I had my printed out form and the ups employee showed me what to put it in, what went inside with the return and did the rest for me! love them! will certainly be doing all my friends through this location.

Since every UPS Store on the planet is exactly the same, really the only category in which one can do differentiate itself is customer service. I have got to say that in my experience, the customer service at this location has been top notch.
I’m sure it’d be easy to get cranky when you’re dealing with a confused, less-​than-​sympathetic public who view their visit to your store as a necessary evil. Somehow, the people at this particular UPS Store never let it phase them, and they’re always been nice as pie.
On my last visit I came in with some Christmas presents that had to be returned. I didn’t have a printed label. I didn’t have a box. I didn’t have a clue. Basically i walked up to them, handed them a mess of clothes and yelled «HELP ME!» Turns out, they were able to. They walked me through step-​by-​step on how to get everything sent out at the least cost to me, in the most efficient manner. I’m sure I looked like an ill prepared idiot, but they didn’t care. There’s no phasing the folks at the UPS Store. They’ve got this shiz down.
In businesses of this category, I don’t think people really shop around much based on customer service of features. I feel fortunate that my closest location also happens to do what they do so well.

I wouldn’t usually write a review of a freakin’ UPS Store, but the experience here was super great so I felt obligated. During a recent trip to Portland I needed to, well, ship a package, and this was the closest store to my Airbnb. I had that sinking feeling in my stomach when I walked by and the line was out the door, but the staff here rocked it. They were super polite, helpful, and efficient, despite the huge and demanding crowd. I’m not sure what UPS is putting in their coffee, but whatever it is keep it flowing! I wish all shipping was this easy.

Great service in the Sabin neighborhood! This UPS Store is conveniently located in the Whole Foods shopping center at the corner of 15^th and NE Fremont. They can pack and ship and will always quote you multiple pricing and shipping options. I never have to wait to receive help and the employees are friendly.

I’ve been to this store several times, but my most recent experience was one of the worst customer service interactions I’ve had. The employees were unwilling to help solve the problem I had with a package erroneously delivered to me. I said as much, and they watched and laughed at us out the window as we put the package in the trash, per their instructions. I won’t be sending anything through them again.
If the address is incorrect on a UPS package delivery, and you take it to a «UPS Store» they will not be able to handle the problem for because it isn’t their job. They tell you to call the main UPS number, meaning that you have to haul the package back home and take another 10 minutes out of your day to help UPS fix their mistake. They won’t call the number for you, nor will they take the package even though they claim on their website that a truck comes by at 5:30 each day.
I hope all UPS stores aren’t like this. Even the offer of calling to schedule a pick up would have been appreciated.

One of the great things about not working up to my potential is I almost never have to deal with shipping, mailing or any of that sending stuff places. Those days are thankfully past me. But I buy stuff online. And sometimes that doesn’t work out.
So you print the label that [e-​tailer name redacted] provides you, you take whatever item is going back to this UPS Store and you say «[redacted] return» and let them take it from there. At some point they will ask for money, they’ll give you a receipt with a tracking number and you are done. Until the next «This isn’t what the description said» moment.

I have to concur with the other reviews here. I too have a mailbox due to not having a fixed address for the time being. I come in about once a day and without fail the staff is friendly and helpful (I regularly receive packages, which makes them head into the back room). I’ve used their packing and/​or shipping a few times too and they’re simply outstanding.

I came here actually on my way to Kinko’s to print out a résumé and cover letter — SO glad I stopped here instead! The guys here were SUPER helpful and really friendly and the quality of the print job was perfect. They also have a simple but really thoughtful selection of office supplies: envelopes, folders, glue, pens and pencils, tape, staplers, white out, labels, etc. It’s so great when you find people/​places like this that make the little parts of your day run smoothly!

I rent a UPS mailbox here and the service I receive at the counter is always friendly. I come here often to pick up packages and only had to wait in line once (behind one person). When there is no line, sometimes the man working behind the counter will recognize me as soon as I walk in, and he goes in the back to get my packages before I even open my mailbox.
I also ship packages from here often and have had no problems so far.

They offer great service and are just really nice. I’m in here at least a couple a days a week and I’ve never had a problem with anything. It’s a really convenient location (next to Whole Foods on 15^th and Freemont) and the wait is usually pretty short.
If you are looking for a place to ship, I would highly recommend them!

I love Portland and I love this UPS store!
David helped me and he was great. I had some prepaid labels to print and I don’t have a printer. At this store, you can email the labels to them and they will print them for you. (I don’t know if all UPS stores do this.) I had some technical difficulties. He was patient and worked everything out for me. He taped up my boxes and gave me a receipt. He made it so easy. They even take USPS drop offs.
I have bouts of crazy online shopping and returning items can become a huge hassle. UPS and David made the whole process easy and this kind of service is truly priceless. Thank you! :)
