We came in Friday night randomly, and we’re pleased to find such a cute place. The lady behind the counter that helped us was so awesome! Jill you made our night ! Jill gave us some chocolate that she thought would go with our wine, chatted us up and we just enjoyed her company and her service. We will be back and I hope to see Jill again!

A fantastic place! My son and I went here when the movie that we wanted to see at the Hollywood Theater was sold out. It is right across the street. The bar was cozy, and not too dark. It was cute, with tables or booths to sit in. We ordered the garlic bread and the nachos, and had two delicious coffee drinks on Happy Hour. Then they had a live band because it was Saturday night. The band was fantastic. The only thing about the place that was troubling is that they only had one cocktail waitress, and it was crowded. Besides that, it was a great place to visit and have a drink and an appetizer.

I don’t get it. Wine is fine, but that is the point of a wine bar. Not exactly a large selection, though. Turrrrrible beer selection. And the food is God awful. I imagine a tiny toaster oven back there somewhere. The cheesy garlic bread had crappy cheddar on it… What is happening?

I had a great time the food was great and the Prosecco was wonderful. I am a woman of color and I’ve never ever had a problem there, I’ve been going there for the past 5 years and never had a problem. Love Anna the owner, not a racist bone in her body.

I had a horrific time at this joke of a place last night. I have been here twice, and although I thought the interior was nice, I was taken aback by their very steep prices(for less than mediocre food and small drink pours — oh and last night, I waited 30 minutes for a $ 7 grilled cheese sandwich the size of my hand). My Black friend and I(I am a person of color as well) showed up at about 7pm and stayed until 11pm. In that time, we each ordered 3 glasses of wine, food, and water — certainly not enough to become«drunk.» Meanwhile, there was a huge group of older white people who had clearly been there before we arrived, and were drinking bottle after bottle after bottle, each. Several were swerving and couldn’t even walk straight. It was incredibly difficult to even have a conversation because they were so loud and obnoxious, so we spent most of our time outside. At about 10:30pm, as we were getting ready to leave, I requested that my friend and I have another glass of wine. I was told by the rude and flippant bartender — Kodee — that last call had already been made. When I went back to my table, my friend and I agreed that we had never heard the bartender say last call — I went back up to the bar, where another patron stood, and I asked him if he had heard her say it; he had not.(It was also 10:40pm at this point — quite early to even be making last call.) When I mentioned this to the bartender, she told me that my friend and I had had enough to drink, and that’s why she wasn’t going to serve us. Again: 3 drinks, over a 4-hour period, with food and water being consumed — that’s actually under the legal driving limit. At that point, I asked her why it was acceptable for white people to get completely intoxicated on her watch, and she claimed that that had nothing to do with it, while being grossly rude and offensive the whole time. Anyway, this is Portland and I know racism when I see it. It makes me sick to my stomach that an establishment like this resides in my own neighborhood. If you: a) Care about paying reasonable prices; b) don’t like to frequent bars where some people are allowed to be wasted and rude, depending on what they look like, and others aren’t; and c) most importantly, believe in standing up in the face of racism, don’t go here. It’s not worth it — you, your wallet, and your psyche will be better off.

Great wine bar located right accross from the Hollywood theater. Nice and cozy. The staff and the owner Anna are very friendly. Wonderful wine and beer selection. Wine tasting on Thursdays and Fridays. Great Free Live music on Fridays and Saturdays. I also love their food specials always made with fresh local produce. One of my favorite hang outs. Obviously I’m a fan!

Had a great time at Magnolia’s Corner! My dining companion and I were allowed to share a flight of 5 wines from California’s Force of Nature Winery. Bread pudding was amazing and the live jazz trio was great! Friendly service, nice ambiance, good prices! Will definitely be back again!

Service is not consistent. The cheese platter while good is not much cheese for the price. With the increase in drug activity there I’m afraid to park nearby.

Magnolia is a great for good wine, conversation and people watching… if you get a window seat. It is right across from Hollywood theater, so get a bite to eat and a glass of wine before a move. The wine selection is pretty extensive too.

A nice dark place to enjoy a selection of wine and beer. The service was a tad slow. It seemed she was the only one there on a Saturday night but she was very helpful and nice. We had a few glasses of wine and a cider as well as the cheese plate. The drinks were good. One if the wines came with a cinnamon stick and candied ginger. The cheese plate was great. A nice selection of five cheeses! As well has some sourdough slices. We really enjoyed the cheese and ordered a few cheeses specifically(the wine white cheese and manchego). There were only a few people there which is unfortunate for a Saturday night. Hopefully more people will come and give this place a shot. We were glad we did.

They have a great selection of wine and a good selection of beer. Enjoyed an espresso stout. The place was virtually empty, but the mood was good and laid back. I recommend putting some type of covering on at least the 41st street windows. The light from the street,(cars, streetlamps, Hollywood theater) overpowers the lighting of the restaurant which makes it feel like you have pulled off at a truck stop lounge. I will be back to try more of the many selections on tap.

Slow, spotty service. We always seem to have to wait a long time before being greeted, giving order, and cashing out. The menu is so so, actually it is pretty plain. There really is nothing special about this place. It has a rad location.

Cool, chillax kind of place. Went around 7:30 on a Tuesday night. The service was only ok. .nice server but she disappeared every time we looked for her. The stuffed peppers were fantastic and the brie/pear panini was good but needed a little zip. We sat for awhile and played Apples to Apples

Awful! Maybe the bartender and our server should have paid more attention to the guests in stead of flirting with each other. Our drinks were made wrong and didn’t get what we ordered. Don’t bother coming here!

Excellent neighborhood wine and sake bar. Good for intimate date nights while dining on light snacks. There is music most nights of the week so check out their calendar.

Awful place for food, has good wine bar vibe. The jojo’s had no flavor and the sliders were just awful to bite into

I ventured here last night to hear my friend play(live cello music). If I was rating this place on ambiance, well then they could easily get 4 stars. So as not to be one of «those people» I decided to order something and opted for the Aloha drink(coconut water and peach sake over ice) and the butternut squash, candied walnuts and sliced apples salad special. What a huge let down and for a pretty penny($ 14 before tip). The drink was incredibly weak, I feel like most of the faint peach flavor came from the slice of canned peach that was in the glass. The salad had a few issues: 1. No mention of cheese, but was coved in feta. In this foodie conscious town, it should be noted when there is an ingredient that is a common dietary restriction. 2. There was barely any of the main ingredients listed in the salads name: a few tiny cubes of butternut squash and literally 4 ultra-thin slices of apple that served as a plate accent. The rest was spinach! I definitely will not be returning!

OK. Right out of the gate, this is my new favorite wine bar in Portland. I love the atmosphere, the ambiance, the layout, the server, the food, the wine. Oh it goes on and on. Big selling point is the fact that it’s right across the street from the Hollywood Theatre. Seating is a hit and miss here as the place is kind of small. You can always sit at the bar until something comes open. If you let the server know, they will snag the first available table for you. On the nights where there is no live music there is a nice little table in the corner with a couple of leather sofas for your comfort. It’s perfect for sharing that bottle of wine with someone special. Service is very friendly and they are ready to help you with your wine selection. I’m not exactly a cork dork(This is a person who talks about wine too seriously. They use adjectives such as «sexy», «attractive», «complicated», «tempermental» and«promising» to describe wine. «Linda likes the reserve pinot noir because of it’s sexiness. She turns into such a cork dork whenver we are in Napa»), but I’ve been getting into the whole wine thing as of late. I’ve avoided it because of a couple issues. First of all, I don’t tolerate the alcohol very well. It’s not that I can’t handle my liquor so to speak, but it can make me feel just rotten. Like, I need to go to bed now kind of rotten. Reds haven’t always been friendly to me but lately, I’m being guided by people who know wine and steer me in the direction of organic and no added sulfites. I tolerate the whites a little more easily but don’t want to restrict myself to that. I digress. The food is excellent and my mate and I shared this cheese stuffed date thing that was drizzled with honey and oh my. They also have nightly specials on the food and it’s different all the time. The server will point you in the right direction. I like this place so much I just feel like being generous with the stars so there you have it. If you’re into the wine bar scene, take in a good movie at the Hollywood and then cross the street to finish off your evening here. The perfect date night. You won’t regret it.

This place was really cool as far as a super chill spot with soft lighting going on, good background music and great artwork. Great date ambiance. Wasn’t quite sure how things worked and we weren’t told so after we got our first pour we sat there for a while with dry glasses until we asked for more. The wine was great, the food however left me wanting more. Maybe I was just expecting more as far as tasting room size meals, but I guess the portions match the pours for the flight we had. Both on the smaller side. Paying $ 15 for a flight was to me a bit much for the pour sizes. You just might want to go here after you already go somewhere else for dinner. We had the baked garlic with brie and bread for i believe $ 11, This was tasty but nothing special. We had the shrimp bruschetta and also a tuna salad and panini. Most items right around $ 8. The thing about this place and the reason I gave 3 starts is that I like it and the idea of it and the proximity to my house but I think the food is stuff right out of Grocery Outlet. No offense to Grocery Outlet, I love that place. However, the tuna salad was basically just canned tuna mixed up with a few things artichoke heart, kalamata, etc thrown into a little bowl with some crackers. BORING! I could whip that up in 1 minute in my kitchen. What I am trying to get at is Fancy nice wine deserves quality food to go along with it. I will be back but like I mentioned probably after I drop money somewhere else for dinner.

First — there is a food menu, with a LOT of vegetarian options(yay!) However, the portions aren’t gigantic(nor are they tiny), but there does seem to be a decent variety of food to go with your wine. There is a rotating wine-list, and of course, there seems to be lots of other choices of wine bottles on the wall. Also noted they sometimes have live music. There is one COOL thing, there is a portion of the floor which has a plexiglass cover, which you can see thru. It looks like there’s stairs going down into a basement — technically there IS stairs actually, but the floor is covered(so there isn’t really access). Anyway, my point is this must be the BEST fail-safe, drunk driving test EVER, because if you get way too freaked out about a glass floor and think you’re falling down the«stairs» — you’re probably ready to call a cab. Wine choices seem good, food is decent — I’m probably giving this rating a bit high, but I have good vibes here, and plan on returning.
