Great place for a casual date or meeting friends. The food is incredible! Very unique choices for tacos but even the weird sounding ones(mac&cheese) are delicious. The chips are also really good and fresh… you can tell they are house made. I am also a HUGE fan of their house-infused liquors. I got the blackberry bourbon still and it was noteworthy. The presentation was neat too because they sat a little pterodactyl on the lip of the glass. Love the service and the overall atmosphere.

Love the variety and flavor combos of all the tacos. A great place to mix it up if you’re tired of traditional tacos.

Pretty cool. Pretty dang cool! We came right at the end of HH(sad). But Their HH wasn’t that much less expensive than regular. Their tacos during HH are only $ 2.50 and regularly are $ 3.50. Which, for a street taco is a bit much BUT these are not regular street tacos. They are delicious, have crazy combos, and are so great! My favorite was their vegan mac and cheese taco. It was so good. I forgot to take a pic! Whoops! Their chips and salsa(I forget what it’s called) is great. The chip are really yummy, I wish they didn’t come with so much spice though. Next time I will ask them if they can make them without the spice. The salsa that comes is like real salsa, and the queso?! Omg I wanted to pour it on everything. It’s great. Service? Amazing. Fast and really nice! We were waiting for about 20 min and offered us a seat at the bar, we didn’t want to eat there because we are smaller and eating at a bar is not comfortable, at all. So they let us sit there until our table was ready, so great! Bathroom… was the worst spot in the place. They have a back patio with a bon fire that I can’t wait to check out when it’s not raining!

This is my go to spot to meet friends. The large selection of infused booze is so tasty all you need is ice or soda at most. The taco choices are inventive AND delicious. I only wish they served them with an extra layer of tortilla to capture the generous fillings. The menu will also accommodate your vegan, vegetarian and meat-eating buddies. Weekends it’s hard to find a free table, but weekdays/nights there’s usually enough bustle to make the place interesting, but not so much that you can’t find a seat. Servers here are attentive, efficient and friendly. Must have: Phuket and The Mac

It’s really a 3.5 star review. Visiting from SoCal and was excited to see what the flavor was all about. The Green Meanie and the Shia LaBeef were the only notable mentions. I tried a few others but these were what earned them the stars. The titos(chips are delicious too). They lose stars because: 1.) The drinks are weak. I ordered 3 of their special hard liquor drinks(rum/vodka) and i was greatly disappointed in the lack of buzzness. I’m a nursing mom who was getting back her ability to start drinking, technically, i should’ve been drunk after 1 drink. 2.) The table next to us got dinosaurs with their drinks. In the end, they even gave her a handful with their check. Between my husband and I, i got 1. 3.) The seating is horrible. If baby got back, watch out spilling everything between tables if you’re sitting at the booth and need to get out. 4.) The bathrooms are gross. I thankfully just had to pee but my toilet wouldn’t flush. Sorry.

We love the Cruz Room. Excellent tacos, with good portion sizes. Fun and tasty drinks, good beer selection, good happy hour. Ask about the secret kids menu, basic tots, simple tacos, etc. We come back regularly, and prefer Cruzroom over the new place down the street.

It’s not often I feel the need to update a review. After nearly two years of patronizing Cruzroom on a regular basis, the superior consistency of the food and service are still ever present. Major props guys. Major.

I’m just gonna put it out there and say that I think their tacos are better than Por Que No’s because I love the spice and the amount of meat you get on one taco! So delicious and perfectly cooked protein with nice garnishes for that perfect bite. I got the green meanie(love), red rocket(sooo bomb), and the jerk(it was ok but I like the first 2 better!). I also got a side of spicy fried pickles and they were the best frickles I’ve ever had and I love the spice. Bartenders were super nice too and who doesn’t love a drink with a dinosaur on it?!

The vegan tacos are top notch! SOMUCHFLAVOR! Often omnivore places don’t give any thought to the vegans… if you’re lucky, they will put some boring flavorless tofu cubes on the menu. Not here! Omnivores would not even know they weren’t eating animals!

Please bring back the pork belly!!! Also, can we bring the dinosaurs back in for a discount/recycling? I have so many at my house… They’re taking over!!! I love the death star with club soda. Mmmm. The tacos are great too. Happy hour has great discount, and it is usually not too busy.

Walking down the street, we found this place. Glad we did. Rebecca had a good beer and I experimented with the tequila list. They describe themselves as a taco laboratory. Their sauces come from around the globe. We have had chips with curry powder and Peruvian aji, pulled pork with poblano chili sauce, spicy pickle chips with chipotle repulsed and Indian curry potato. Great sauces, great variety and varied spices. A triple yum night,

It was a last minute decision to hunt down a good happy hour in our neighborhood and what we found was A+! Clearly the main affair at Cruzroom are tacos — with an experimental twist. They don’t call themselves a ‘Taco Lab’ for no reason after all. Whatever mood your tastebuds are in, there’s probably a taco to satisfy. But all taco-traditionalists, STAYAWAY. We had a hard time choosing tacos — a good sign. There’s quite the selection for everyone including vegan and gluten free options that are bound to tempt even the most stony-faced carnivore. These taco delights are also generously filled, so come with an appetite. But it seems, to me, that Cruzroom’s unpretentious approach to cooking extends to the rest of their establishment. It feels like Cruzroom is all about honest good times void of ostentatious crowds and surroundings. This was our surprise hit of the weekend with one of the best happy hours we’ve been to and ticking all the criteria boxes: fresh, creative food with drinks for every kind of drinker at nice prices at a decent hour.

Lots of choices and lots of chances. I like the variety and creativity in the taco choices that are offered. The prices aren’t terrible considering what you end up getting. I love a good value. Some of my favorite tacos. Our tables favorite hands down was the Butterfly man. All of the tastes and textures just worked. It wasn’t too spicy or salty, it was a really good bite. I think if I went again I would get multiples of these. I like the Green Meanie, but it can read a little salty. Bob’s your Uncle is a really good piece of fish on a taco. I get the idea of the french fries on the taco, but it actually ends up subtracting rather than adding. The Red rocket was way too salty. I won’t order this one again. Even though I despise the actor, the Shia LaBeef was pretty darn good. It was a great mix of flavors with plenty of meat. Probably my second favorite taco. The Tots ala cruz are really good. Just enough spicy challenge to keep you interested, but easy to finish. The pickle chips are also great. They have a nice crispy coating, not soggy. And they are not too salty. The service is ok. Nothing to write home about, but I don’t feel too weird leaving 20%. I don’t really care for the acoustics of the room, but I think that comes with being in Portland and hip and that stuff. That’s why I live in the suburbs I guess. I’m not much of a drinker, but all of our party loved their drinks. Sorry, you may have noticed and theme in that I’m not very helpful when it comes to finding places to drink. If you like tacos and hip places give the Cruz Room a try.

Cool place! Love, love, love that they have vegan options. The food was great, as well as the drinks! My husband and I tried the Rhueben, the carnitas, PC, and Sunday Pastime. Yum! My favourites were the Rhueben and the Sunday Pastime, but I would easily get both again. We tried the flight of house-infused liquors; BB King(blackberry bourbon), Colonel Potter(fig scotch), Black and Blue(black tea and blueberry vodka, I think the black tea was earl gray), and Zerk(peppercorn tequila, which was actually spicy). All were delicious, but I think the BB King was the best. Their happy hour prices are great and are totally worth taking advantage of and ends at 18.30, so don’t be late!

I love this place! Happy Hour is awesome. The tacos are fantastic with really interesting and delicious favors. The house infused vodkas, OMG! The pineapple is perfect. AND you get a fun dino in every drink. The patio is ample and the bathroom has pretty good graffiti, so ya, go there.

One of the my favorite happy hour places! Heck I’d go here even if it wasn’t happy hour. Place is a bit small but they have large windows to people watch from inside. Love the interesting décor and friendly service. My favorite part is the amount of vegan and gluten free options they have. It’s hard to find a place with one vegan taco let alone up to 6 varieties. One of my favorites I get all the time is the Nina’s Carnitas taco very inventive to make seasoned jackfruit taste so savory and spicy. All of the tacos are made with fresh ingredients and veggies. Very inventive flavors and I love how they change up the taco offerings. Gives me something interesting to try every time I go. Drinks are always tasty with $ 3 happy hour beers and a special on their house infused liquor. I love the little dinosaurs in the drinks. Very well made and price is a steal. Overall I would come here again for the friendly service and food.

I had the vegan taco selection which was ok. Seating us took 20 min with very busy servers. It seemed like they were kinda annoyed that we wanted to eat there. Cocktails were ok, colorful and the dinosaurs were a nice touch. Located at the end of Alberta st, this place is great to come to after walking on the strip.

Came here for happy hour awhile ago. I had the following: Tacos: the siren(faux fish and chips… tofu in tempura batter and fries), rising sun(tempura zucchini wasabi mayo slaw) Drinks: black and blue(black tea and blueberry vodka), priceless(strawberry vodka) I like that they make their own infused vodkas and the tacos are super tasty and unique. It’s a quality happy hour location for sure. The vibe is also cool inside. They were playing some nice old school hip hop that we were enjoying. Laid back, chill, tasty and good prices. Works for me!

Color me impressed, Cruzroom! Your themed tacos that are tapas in themselves. I see what you’re doing there. Tacos are $ 2.50/ea during happy hour, which is a pretty sweet deal considering the quality of these things. I tried the Phuket, which was some peanut-y deliciousness, and the Red Rocket, which was a work of art. The pork was perfectly crisp-fried on the outside, the cilantro lime slaw was crisp and refreshing, while the chicharrones were the perfect topping. Albeit completely unauthentic, this might be one of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Their craft cocktails are pretty awesome too. The Bangkok was a lot like The Observatory’s Tom Kha cocktail: spicy and creamy with coconut milk and lime. The thick slice of fresh ginger is a nice touch too. The Hot Mamacita was both too salty and too sweet for me, but I prefer my cocktails to be simple and bold. Cruzroom has one of the most beautiful patios I’ve ever seen. There’s a delightful all-blue mural, patio seating and bulb string lights. Go for happy hour and spend the entire happy hour systematically going through their menu while enjoying their patio. If you need to bounce before your friends, the waitstaff were able to ring me up inside for my good choices. Cruzroom is your easy and casual, yet subtly fancy spot.
