The Art of Shaving

I was never shown how to shave, my dad didn’t show me. I learned a lot from The Art of Shaving. The woman who was there gave me a demo and showed me how wrong I was shaving for all those years. I bought a sample kit to get started. I plan on buying more in the future. They aren’t cheap but you are buying quality. They have great Customer Service.

I went in looking for a new puck of shaving soap. That’s it. I was met by a very friendly sales associate, who asked me if I was familiar with their aromas. I wasn’t, so he was more than happy to let me smell all of their products. At this point, another uninvolved sales associate asserted themself into our conversation, telling me that there what I REALLY wanted was a different product, almost implying I didn’t know what was going on. I dunno, it was just sort of unpleasant.
I’ve been straight-​razor shaving for a long time, and both times I’ve come in here, I’m met with an associate who either admittedly doesn’t know much about shaving, or who is sporting a five-o’clock shadow so stubbly, it looks as if he hasn’t used a razor in weeks.
All told, if you’re looking for the whole shave experience, a matching set of preshave oil, cream, shave soap, aftershave lotion, and a set of razors, shave brushes, and a display stand for your museum-​quality razor set, skip this store and hit up Crabtree and Evelyn for their shave soap (¹⁄₅ the price of AoS…) and get the rest of your stuff off of Amazon (check out Parker shaving brushes, Thiers Issard or Dovo straight razors, and Prima Rindeler strops).

I had a great Experience! Kelly Alesi was very helpful. i recently started shaving my head and i came into the store asking questions about what products to use and what was recommended. He was very knowledgeable and helped me decide on what to buy. in fact i purchased a double edge Muhle Safety razor and an entire year supply of shaving products. I only purchased this stuff because of his customer service and Helpfulness. Another customer came into the store while he was helping me and he promptly acknowledged her and continued with me. I would recommend this store to anyone new to shaving and even a veteran shaver. If every employee at that store is like Kelly then you will definitely have great things to say about this company.
