Authentic and super friendly. It’s reasonably priced with large servings. My friend came with me and she said it’s the most Thai thai food she’s had since living in Thailand. It brand new so still an undiscovered gem on Hawthorne

We happened to stumble upon it and it was a good surprise. Fantastic portion of Duck Fried rice which included plentiful strips of duck. More meat that I have seen any other fried rice contain. Service was excellent and very attentive of our needs.

Good food! I ordered chicken pad thai, «hot». The waiter explained the spice system as mild, medium, hot and«O-M-G». I picked hot. It was hot. They also brought spices to the table for more spicing. They gave us free onion soup, it was clear, brothy and had onions and some other greenery. Very simple and savory. I ordered a Coke and they were super snappy about keeping it filled to the brim. Nice folks, nice restaurant. Very attentive and reasonable. Friendly. Lunch specials are on the back of the menu, all around $ 8 or less. Lunch portions are big and tasty. Pad thai comes minus peanuts(strange) and plus cabbage(stranger). No outdoor seating available… hoping this changes as the weather warms up!

This place used to be good but has taken a major dive in the past five years or so. The husband and I have stopped eating here even though it is right by our house and was the site of our first date almost 19 years ago. I’d much, much rather go to Chaba Thai– nostalgia only goes so far. Last time I went past it was completely different– new name, new décor. Anybody know if it is just a face lift or if there are new owners? I am afraid to try. My dining dollars are severely limited at the moment. Intrepid Unilocalers with disposable income, please help a girl out and let her know the new haps.

We should have walked out before we sat down. We came in late-ish on a Friday night and the place was empty. We had burnt pot stickers — which I’m not really sure how you accomplish. The food was meh at best, and I’m pretty sure my husband had his debit card number stolen when we paid our bill. There are plenty of other places to eat in this area — skip this one.

We live in a town that has many(maybe too many) Thai restaurants to choose from. So in order to get your repeat business you need to have good food and great service. I have been coming to Thai Thai for years. Even after leaving Portland for a year and returning the owner remembered my order. He is always friendly and gives me extra veggies and Tofu at no charge when I ask him to hold the egg on my Pad See Ew.

The food was so bad I had to excuse myself from the table to go throw it up in the bathroom. I just felt gross eating it. the whole place has a grimy feel — avoid at all costs.

Terrible. There were three tables in the restaurant when we came in, all had already gotten their food. We still waited about 40 minutes for our food to come out. Okay, it’s Christmas, we’ll cut them some slack. But the food… not worth the wait. I ordered the spicy fried rice with shrimp. The menu gave it a little star meaning that it is «Hot and Spicy». Just what the doctor ordered. Well, my food came, and it was nowhere in the neighborhood of hot OR spicy. I love the heat, but I’m pretty wimpy still, and this didn’t even have any kind of spice at all. The rice was sweet, and the shrimp weren’t even all the way cooked. I attempted to flag down our waiter, but after about 20 minutes I gave up. My partner ordered the Pad Thai, and he said it wasn’t too bad, but it was sweet as well. Kinda strange. I won’t be back.

I eat here on a regular basis, as I can walk there. The staff is friendly, the seating plentiful, the location is convenient and the vibe is low key. I usually stick to ordering their curries, as I think they are the best items on the menu. I have had a few noodles dishes beyond Pad Thai and they were a little greasy for my taste. Soups are good — nothing better on a cold day. I like that they serve brown rice as an option, I get burned out on white rice with Thai.
