Pretty good Mexican street food! I got the chicken nachos with some avocado– could have used a little more cheese, but the portion was huge! Really cheap, too. Would try it again!

Nice food cart — love love the nachos Not a fan of the customer service. Lindo is VERY nice, its like night and day though if you get one of the women who work there. Beware, even if you tip they wont even notice or say thank you.

This place is my standby when I’m craving tasty Mexican food on Division. Cash only. They also do carryout orders. Tacos are simple and delicious(meat, cilantro, and chopped raw onion), served folded in two corn tortillas. Three is a fine lunch, four is good if you’re hungrier, particularly around dinnertime. At a buck fifty each, they’re a bargain. I usually get the supreme burrito, rather than the standard, since I crave cheese, guacamole, and sour cream with my burrito. The supreme includes useless shreds and chunks of lettuce that would otherwise detract from it, so I highly recommend asking them to leave the lettuce out. They’re busy and get a lot of variation in their orders, so make sure that any substitutions are made clear. A normal-size supreme burrito will fill you up at dinner for $ 5.50. If you’re looking for something the size of a small house-cat, go for the super-size supreme, which features a larger tortilla, stuffed accordingly, for $ 7. As for the meats, I would recommend the carne asada as the most reliably delicious of the bunch. It’s tender and perfectly cut, with a nice«from the grill» taste. The carnitas can be the best option altogether, but sometimes(but not always) they’re a bit greasy for my tastes, so I reluctantly award them second place. The Pastor is good, though I sometimes find myself wishing it were spicier. Finally, I also liked the barbacoa when I had it, but it’s not always available, so it helps to have a second choice on standby when ordering it. They make their own sauces there, which is nice. While normally I’m more of a red sauce kind of guy, I like the green sauce better here. In particular, it works really well in concert with the richer ingredients like sour cream and guac. The red is smoky, which is nice, but it overpowers everything else in the flavors of whatever you’re ordering, so I wouldn’t recommend it. Lindo Michoacan is definitely the cheapest full-size meal on Division Street. It’s quite tasty and super-fast. I wouldn’t call it special or fancy, but it’s still well worth a visit.

Oh My Goodness!!! Tacos with tortillas made by hand. This is insane. Taking a bite of the first taco, brought memories of my mamas food. My first culinary instructor. Boyyy do I miss her food. Anyways… Paying $ 1.50 for a taco that tastes like home. You have a deal. I pay $ 3 forna taco in Brooklyn that tastes like cat food. 5 stars for making Cheap Eats with fresh tortillas. To bad I have no plans to return to Portland. Allen. NY, NY

Update: Michoacan no longer serves tripas or lengua due to lack of interest, which is a bummer, because both were great. Who knows, if enough people ask for them, perhaps they will start fixing it again? One can hope.

The carne asada burrito is the only dish that is made up to par. The rest well, ehh I’ve definitely had better. Still, sad to say that this food truck might have the most Mexican flavor that I have experienced. There really isn’t any real/good Mexican food in PDX. Whutevs.

Good carnitas burrito– good price. But after a long day at work, I could have lived without the bitchy attitude from the woman who took my order. It’s hard to enjoy your food when you’re replaying the belittling exchange in your head. I’ll probably go somewhere else next time.

The homemade tortillas are delicious. Lots of tasty vegetarian options. Sometimes they run out of certain hot sauces, though they in general have a good selection. Can’t beat the price and the portions are huge. Love the deck.

Living outside of California for the first time since 1997, I am definitely on a hunt for a fantastic Mexican joint. This place is a block away from my current digs, and I’ve walked by it on my trips to Portland for years now, so I finally decided to try it. I usually get carne asada on my burritos, but Unilocal said carnitas, so I went with carnitas(Super burrito, $ 5.50). I was disappointed to see no avocado element in the super burrito(it’s a super burrito after all!), and didn’t really see an option to add any, so I opted to go with what was advertised. Burrito was pretty large and hearty, and the carnitas had good flavor, but it was lacking a bit more of a fresh element(avocado! more salsa, something like that). I’ll probably be back, since it is very convenient, but it didn’t win over my heart the way I’m hoping a place will. Do feel free to message me any recommendations… I miss my SF and SD-style mexican food!

Very good homemade tortillas and super fresh ingredients. I was scrambling for a quick taqueria while working on the east side and this came up número uno. It’s a food truck but permanently parked as a cart. Outside seating and indoor too which appears to be Tuff Sheds, but it worked during the rains. Fast, delicious and very reasonable.

Not the best Mexican food I’ve had, but I most definitely appreciate what they do. I got the super sized veggie burrito and it was delicious. It was the size of a foot long sandwich, aka fuckin’ huge. BF and I split the burrito in half and we were both happy and stuffed. The burrito had the usual veggie burrito filling, so nothing super unique or anything, but still tasty. The best part is that we only paid $ 6 for it. I’m already a fan.

Let’s get down to it. Based on the reviews, I came here over Aprisa. The carne asada supreme was good, but not great. No spice to it whatsoever. I probably could have asked them to add some red sauce. My uncle got the pastor supreme burrito. He liked it, gave it a three n half. Like say, it was good, but not to where I’d need to go back. I would say it is a great deal however. 5.50 for a supreme burrito which is huge, is a great value. Three stars for the food and an additional star for the value.

My favorite: veggie burrito, supreme, super-sized! I don’t play! I love their jalapenos. I love love love that they and Village Merchants were a package deal and moved somewhere together. I love those two places.

This place is my favorite! I am so happy Lindo Michoacan & Village Merchants stuck together – it’s a great match, and now it’s even closer to my house. I think the best thing about the place is the terrific handmade tortillas. They are thick and velvety and substantial: 2 of them cradle each well-loaded taco, so some folks turn one taco into 2. I confess, I’ve seldom had a burrito(like 10 years ago???) because the tacos are so great. I have branched out to the enchiladas, though: 3 tasty tortillas wrapped around your choice of meat, lightly sauced, with lots of iceberg lettuce and sour cream scattered on top. Yummy & filling for $ 5. They do a nice stewed goat, also tender stewed beef cheeks and tongue too. I am loyal to the pig, though: Carnitas & pastor are both so great, I can never remember if I like one better than the other.

So I definitely found this to be more flavorful than the disappointing Taqueria Los Gorditos down the road, but I have to keep looking for a burrito that can treat me half as good as my favorite SF burrito. The good: Carnitas. Holy shitballs, the carnitas were so good! And the folks working there were really friendly. The meh: No choice for beans. Pinto, which is good except they’re a big mush. Not refried, but mushy. Mama needs whole beans! The ugly: 2⁄3 of the way in, my hand was covered in oil. Covered. In oil. No good.

Ok so I’m partially(actually a lot) bias when it comes to eating Mexican food since I’m from the Southwest. As I wonder the streets of Portland, there’s a Mexican place in every corner(shocker). But on a quest to find great street tacos, I stumbled across this place on my handy dandy PDX Cart app. It’s not in a pod with other carts, it stands alone on Division located next to a thrift store. Hey for $ 1.50/taco, I ordered 4 different types just to see what this place was made of. Now I don’t order the typical chicken or carne asada. I went straight for the buche(pork belly), cabeza(cheek), lengua(tongue) and pastor. When we arrived, there was no one and within 5 minutes a line had formed on a chilly day. That’s a good sign as the two ladies are cooking up a storm in their truck. Finally it was time to judge these delicate tacos. First off, they packed those suckers with quite a bit of meat so that’s good. Next, if you order lengua and cheek, it has to be super tender. If it’s chewy then it wasn’t cooked long enough. They passed this test and the lengua & cheek fell apart in my mouth like pot roast. The buche or pork belly was actually a disappointment. No pork belly should ever be dry! Luckily their salsas saved me from choking on this dry piece of meat. The pastor was decent. Well the good news is that with all the meat they put on a taco, you can you the bottom tortilla to make another one so I had a total of 8 oh my! Another point for them for having covered seating. And we’ll add another point for their salsas & having grilled whole jalapenos… mmmm! Oh btw, they sell out of fish tacos quick so next time, I have to come earlier to experience these puppies!
