Ate there today for lunch… average at best. Very small establishment, with cramped seating inside for about 5 people. It was Friday fish tacos, yet they were not adequately prepared with cooked fish and had to wait an extra 6 minutes for them to prepare… poor planning, especially when it was lunchtime. There are better options nearby…

The first thing that rushed into my head when I walked in the door was, «Christ, it’s hot in here». There were 3 people ahead of me and only one guy working the place. That made for a good 10 minute wait just to get served, in 90 degrees no less. Soft shelled tacos with a corn tortilla. It was good but it was sloppy. The place is crampy so claustrophobics beware. OK when you’re in a pinch and nothing else is open.

OFCOURSE it’s not authentic Mexican food. After all, we’re not in Southern California. In fact, I have yet to find a good Mexican hole in the wall in Portland, and pay $ 7 to stuff myself and two friends to oblivion. That being mentioned, the prices at this joint aren’t very authentic Mexican either. Two burritos shouldn’t cost $ 11, even if there is sour cream in them. I agree with Tracy– more fish dammit! Albeit, I think the food tasted good, and I’ll hit them up again sometime, especially if I need an easily sneakable-into-the-theater-across-the-street meal.

Weird. This is Baja Mexican more than Mexico City Mexican. I don’t mean that as a compliment cuz everybody knows Baja is full of Americans. The fish burritos would be better if they added more than a little smidgen of fish. More. Fish. Please. Otherwise, it is exactly what’s in it… a bean and rice burrito — good for vegetarians, bad for hungry me.
