got a carne asada burrito & it was really average. I didn’t finish it I don’t recommend this place, the service is poor & the food was prepared really fast(meaning that it wasn’t fresh) this was at the food stand so hopefully the actual location is better

Taqueria El Rodeo is one of many carts on 10th& Alder. They have breakfast burritos, regular burritos, tacos and more. Their meat and seafood choices are vast and you can eat at a nearby park, or shop in the adjacent stores. I went up and ordered a pork taco. It came instantly, even in an efficient manner by Mexican food’s high standards. The pork was crispy, though there could be more of a marinade. Yes, it was $ 1.50 and good, but more flavor would have truly set it apart from Portland’s tough Mexican food market. Still, the tortilla and ingredient blend was fluid. You won’t be disappointed at Taqueria El Rodeo.

4STARSFORALPASTOR! Ok so far my favorite taco stand in Portland. I haven’t tried much, but the al pastor really stood out to me. It was juicy with tons of flavor!!! Also, my food came out quickly and they were super nice when I asked for a LOT of salsa. The salsa was alright, I ended up adding more Tapatio on top because it wasn’t spicy or very flavorful. Same goes for the carne asada… but I will definitely come back to get the al pastor tacos again. :D $ 1.50ea, not bad!

These are the best burritos in that pod of food carts! They are usually pretty quick, their hot sauce is yummy, and the burritos, I can’t say enough about them because they are just delicious. I love this place!

El Rodeo is exactly what I expect from a Mexican food cart: fast, delicious, cheap, filling food. Today my husband and I shared their carne asada burrito($ 5.50) for lunch, and it kept us both filled up until the cocktail hour. I think it took less than a minute to get my wonderful food. I love that you can identify the whole beans wrapped inside, instead of getting the lardy paste most people call beans. The red and green hot sauce were terrific, but I was impressed at how much flavor the burrito had without it. I’ve also had their tacos. They are perfect little street tacos with just meat, cilantro, and onion on corn tortillas at $ 1.50 each. I’ll try a breakfast burrito next.

My favorite Mexican cart in PDX, hands down. As other patrons have remarked, they do make a mean burrito(try the enchilada burrito!!), which I tend to gravitate toward. However, I’ve also had the taco salad and the nachos, which are both wonderful as well(see photos). Everything tastes so fresh and flavorful, and it’s always beautifully presented. Additionally, the food isn’t so heavy that you feel like you just consumed the boulder from Indiana Jones, which I greatly appreciate since I typically have to trudge back to work afterward. Plus, the prices are fantastically reasonable for the massive portions you get. Lastly, the staff is always very friendly and willing to give recommendations if you’re feeling indecisive. In short, go get your ‘rrito on!

This is my absolute favorite spot for tacos and burritos. I work an early shift so when I want brunch I get a breakfast burrito and I’m not hungry from 10 am to 5 or 6 pm! So perfect!

One of the better burrito carts in Portland! Their burritos are consistent and always delicious. I typically stick with the carnitas burritos and street tacos, which always deliver, but I have gotten the chicken burritos as well and those are yummy too! They also do great veggie breakfast burritos. All their food is reasonably priced, with burritos being only $ 5 and tacos $ 1.50 each, and their breakfast burritos $ 4.50. The portion size is great and it’s always full of flavor. El rodeo is definitely my go to burrito cart! I love that they accept cards too incase you don’t have cash!

In my mind, this place sets the gold standard for veggie burritos. They come stocked with fresh ingredients, including guacamole. You can’t beat it for $ 5! I am giving this place five stars because the food is excellent, staff is always friendly, the price is right and the location adds to the urban experience.

Just tried the Carnitas Burrito from Taqueria El Rodeo food cart. Seriously, this was as good a $ 5 burrito as I can imagine finding. Good sized, filed with great ingredients, and the taste was awesome. This is place is going to give my favorite $ 5 Thai cart a run for it’s money! One downside… my burrito took FOREVER. I have a feeling that my original order got lost, as there seemed to be some confusion, but I must have waited 15 minutes for a burrito. Still… I’ll be back.

Cue breakfast burrito bender. It happens every now and then. Simply put, I felt like trying a new cart and this particular spot has $ 4 breakfast burritos. There are seven different options, but I zeroed in on the one with bacon. Gotta admit it, bacon makes everything better. I got the #3 breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs, hash browns, and cheese. Just a simple, delicious burrito cooked to order. The man working the cart warmed up the flour tortilla, scoring a few more points on my happiness meter. Smoky diced bacon is evenly distributed throughout the burrito to satisfy that meat crack craving. Great balance of bacon, scrambled eggs, soft hash browns, and melted cheese. You can have your choice of hot sauces, green or red. Both are very good. It’s a good-sized, quality breakfast burrito for the money spent. The lunch burritos are $ 5 and include beans, rice, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, and your choice of meat. Tacos are $ 1.50. Dinner plates are $ 6, with options like enchiladas, chile rellenos, quesadillas, or nachos. There are many Mexican carts throughout Portland, and I’m glad I stopped at this one!

Had a burrito here the other day, $ 5, and it was okay. I expected more knowing that the food trucks have a good reputation but I wasn’t too pleased. I enjoyed the fish taco from another stand much more.

Coming from California and eating a lot of San Diego-Mexican food I feel like my standards are pretty high. That being said, this place is pretty good for Mexican food that’s so far from the border. $ 5 for a HUGE burrito as big as my forearm packed with rice, chicken, salsa, and beans. However, I always finish my burrito with both satisfaction and regret. I’m happy because the burrito was so damn good, but I always know I ate too much(the whole burrito) because I look and feel like I’m about to give birth afterward. They also gave 2 cups of salsa with my order: one green and one red. The green is my favorite because it’s not too spicy, has good flavor, and is a bright green. Looks like the other reviewers weren’t a fan of the tacos or carne asada. Do yourself a favor and get the chicken burrito instead. This is one of the best Oregon-Mexican food places I’ve had yet! But if the guys of El Rodeo are reading this, might I suggest adding a California burrito to the menu? That’s FRIES inside the burrito. Everyone knows fries make everything better.

I was looking for a new food cart to try, and since I saw that this place sells tacos by the piece, I decided to sample a few. I chose five different flavors, and sure enough, they were tasty. Just wait for 5 – 10 mins and they will be ready and hot for your enjoyment. Perhaps my overall impression with this place is that it is just okay. I wasn’t too impressed enough to say I am a fan. But at the same time, it did not give me a revolting impression. The taco fillings were great and tasty, but the taco perhaps can improve. Why do I say this? Well, I do have experience eating in a real tacqueria in Mexico City, where individual tacos cost less than a bottle of soda. The quality of the taco here in El Rodeo is a little coarse, and there’s just something that I felt didn’t work, but at this time, I couldn’t put a finger to it. So will I go back here? Probably, if I have a taco craving. But I will still look for better places.

Was cruising the carts looking for something extra cheap(only had $ 5 on me) and nothing to filling since I was only a little hungry. Out pops this cart with $ 1.50 tacos. I grabbed two ground beef tacos, both the roja and verde hot sauces. They offered me a lime, which hindsight being what it is, I should have grabbed. Anyway, for $ 3.00 I had two yummy little meat filled tacos, complete with onions and cilantro. Damn tasty, hit the spot, and the perfect price.

Will I ever find the one? Call me a hopeless romantic, I don’t care. I’m on a quest to find«the one.» I want to find a Mexican joint that has the perfect carne asada burrito. Taqueria El Rodeo was just a one night stand. I just tried it because it was available and near but didn’t give much thought or heart to it. The carne asada burrito was decent. The seasoning of the meat of ok, guacamole was actually good, the salsa was ok. What bothered me was the quantity of pinto beans they jammed into this thing. I think that’s where all its weight came from. Damn. And it was heavy. But I wanted a balanced burrito not a gas-generating one. You try it for yourself. My rant stops now.

This was not my first time at the Rodeo, folks. And not just this rodeo, but the taco roundup in general. I am the Taco Taster, the Taco Tantrist, the Taco Tart: If there is a taco to be had I see it from 4 blocks away like a bursting beacon of flavor calling to me from afar. Al Pastor is a bit different at each place, and this was my favorite. You can tell a taco will be good when it is dripping orange grease everywhere. I could have done with a little less of that godly grease, but the flavor, the texture was divine. My chile relleno burrito was just ok, it’s all in the meat, and I’ll try a Pastor burrito soon. I will again be called to ride in this rodeo.

Decided to grab a burrito for breakfast at this food cart one morning — Boy was I in for a treat. at the recommendation of a fellow diner, I ordered the Chile Relleno Burrito. WOW. I’ve eaten Chile Relleno at a lot of places but never a Chile Relleno burrito! The first thing that grabbed my attention was that the burrito was huge. Chipotle huge. The taste! Amazing. The hot sauce on the size was a perfect accompaniment, I wasn’t hungry until 4pm that day. The only thing I’d change is ask for less cheese as the Poblano pepper at the heart of the burrito is already stuffed with cheese. also a whole wheat wrap would be great.

Taqueria El Rodeo stands up well against the other taquerias situated in the big block of food carts on SW10th. Like the others, the price is right, the tacos are prepared fresh, and the flavors are absolutely spot on. I eat al pastor and chorizo tacos everywhere I go, and I can happily put a five star stamp on these.
