We started with the olives because, hey, we love olives. It was a good variety and the price was much lower than average, plus the quantity was much higher. Great start. We decided to split the pork loin and salmon crepes because they just sounded so delicious. It was hard to decide which we liked better. One thing this place has over other creperies is that filling is evenly distributed throughout the crepes. Typically, especially at the ends, you have bites of nothing but crêpe. Not the case here. Another big thing is that they DIDN’T skimp on salmon. Another common occurrence. It was nice to actually taste salmon in every bite. Then we decided to splurge and split a dessert crêpe. Why not when dinner was so great. Decided on apple with the cinnamon ice cream. It was truly a treat. Overall it was a really good experience. Service was courteous and prompt. Would definitely recommend.

The place is nice but the crepes were bad in my opinion. For start we ordered the onion soup which was nice, but the goat cheese and caramelized onion crêpe that followed, tasted exactly like the soup, and the filling was too runny. For desert we tried a sweet chocolate spread crêpe that showed as ‘Nutella’ on the receipt, but tasted like a cheap knock off. The last was the reason I wanted to go there and was very disappointing.

re: visit on 11.29.15 We were a party of 8; 4 adults and 4 kids, and all of the food we had was terrific at Suzette, no doubt. It was prepared well and was super tasty. However, we were also dining there with the hope of warm hospitality. They fell so abysmally short in this category, that I will never EVER return to this business again. I was so disappointed to have spent my hard-earned money on this experience that I was angry when I left. NEVER in the 10 years we have lived in Portland have I had this kind of welcome from a waiter/waitress. And this is why they get 1 star. First off, if you’re in the business of hospitality and customer service, at least pretend like you enjoy it. Fake it if you need to. Don’t bring your baggage to work. I really think we ruined our dark-haired, bespectacled waitress’ day(I sincerely hope she isn’t the owner!) when we came in and asked for a table of 8. She was so upset that we would be in need of chairs from another table(there were only enough chairs at our table for 6) that she audibly clucked when we asked of them… She brought them over, kind of mumbling under her breath, and I asked if there was a problem. She said ‘Yes. There is. This really won’t work. I have to ‘give up another table ‘to give you these chairs. BUTTHAT’S HOWITGOES, I GUESS. OHWELL… YEP, OHWELL…’(Side note: there are maybe 10 tables in the restaurant, and during our entire visit there was never a demand for ‘that table ‘nor was there a line of folks waiting on this Sunday morning.) This was the welcome we got. And her treatment of us during our stay was on par with that welcome. Our food was thrust on our table, and water glasses were begrudgingly refilled. Unfortunately, we ordered more food and that was just annoying to her… Another side note: If you don’t want to welcome kids to come into your restaurant, be honest. Put a sign on the door if you need to. The transparency would be appreciated and preferable over the open resentment of their presence. And I say the following with all honesty as well– our kids were all well behaved and well mannered. I fear for the experience of those with even slightly unruly kids. So in the end, she got her big party tip from us because it was built into our check, but if it was my choice, she would not have received a penny. Last time I checked, a generous gratuity was a reward for delightful customer service.

This place is great! Friendly staff, checked on me regularly, Gave me a bottle of water along with a cup so I always had liquids. I had the Moroccan Lamb Merguez Sausage crêpe and it blew me away. It was rich and had a wonderful depth of flavor. The crêpe was light but still strong enough not to call apart while I’m digging in. I finished the meal with some ice cream, I don’t recall specifically what it was but it had fig and spices in it and it was great as well. I would have been satisfied with just the crêpe, it was the right size for lunch, but the ice cream was a great bonus. Parking’s not the best, but if you drive around a bit you can find a space.

Love the atmosphere, waitstaff, lavender lemonade and their baked goods are all terrific. I wish they would go beyond the crêpe thing… Especially the mushroom tastes like it’s made with Campbell soup! I know the 1970’s live on but it’s more than time for a refreshed menu. Then I would give this place the full five stars.

Lovely! Friend had the poached apple crêpe with cinnamon ice cream and I had the chocolate crêpe with hazelnuts and coffee ice cream. So delicious and the waitress was funny and very attentive. Inside seating was great but outside mini benches were super fun. Due to the sun you will almost always be, in the shade in front though, so wear a jacket. What a great place!

Looking for a place to have lunch while my cat was undergoing a procedure at the nearby vet’s. Driving along Belmont, I noticed Suzette and its charming façade«spoke» to me. Well worth the visit. The crepes are buckwheat flour just like main course ones in France, and their size is similar to the French ones, too. Unlike American fillings, the French crepes are not loaded with them. Just enough! I had pork and caramelized onions. They have two little tables outside and a woman was using one of them so she could keep an eye on her dog. Indoors, there were just 3 of us, but that was probably because it was a bit late for lunch. They had a long drink menu, which would be nice in the evening. I’ll certainly return to Suzette.

A wonderful place if it’s just you and another person. The crepes are delightful and the homemade Nutella is awesome. The interior is charming and usually not too busy. However, I brought a group of 8 people for brunch and they looked visibly annoyed at having a large party. It took forever to get our food even though there weren’t many other people there. I will definitely be back, but never with a large group.

I hadn’t had quiches or crepes enough previously to really have any preferences about them, so it was great that Suzette had both these items on their menu for me to try. I ordered Quiche Lorraine and an Herb-roasted Pork Loin Crêpe. My server was nice enough to point out that it was still Happy Hour so I could have the smaller size(less expensive) crêpe instead of the regular size. I appreciated her thoughtfulness. The quiche was tasty.. .loaded with good ingredients. The crêpe was filled with bits of pork mixed with caramelized onion and Gruyère, and was equally wonderful. OK, that was easy, I like this place a lot.. .good friendly service, tasty food, fair prices, and a Happy Hour too. I’ll be back another time to try some other things including their signature Crêpe Suzette.

This place is very cute and has a lot of different crêpe options. The non crêpe items are also delicious. You have to try the French onion soup.

One day, as I was walking to a coffee shop I noticed this place. It has a charming and open atmosphere. There were two people working. The cashier was very sweet and friendly. There was one customer at the end of the bar that was also friendly and greeted me. She seemed to be at least moderately intoxicated by the wine she was drinking, but extremely pleasant company. I had a lavender lemonade and a blueberry ice cream. Both were amazing, but the blueberry ice cream was probably the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth ever. It had a perfect natural blueberry taste, that was perfectly incorporated into the ice cream. It didn’t taste overly sweet, but had the natural sweetness of a blueberry and the smooth perfect texture one wants from ice cream. I look forward to returning.

Really liked it here. They have a happy hour sugar crêpe for $ 3. Service is super friendly, and there’s even a whole vegan menu with gluten-free options. I personally love buckwheat crepes, so I got the squash cherry tomato one; my friend ordered the smoked salmon goat cheese. Also have to mention that they make their own ice cream in a lot of yummy flavors like salted chocolate. And if you don’t like crepes, they have grilled sandwiches. There really is something for everyone.

I’ve eaten there before and enjoy the crepes. This visit was disappointing because we waited for half an hour after ordering and the order was still nowhere near completion. When we say, I mentioned we were there with our hungry tired toddler and asked for something that was quick to bring up for him first. Upon their recommendation, we ordered the oatmeal. half an hour later still no oatmeal. I hold a parent bias and get not everyone had this bias. That said, if the restaurant is being advertised as «child friendly» it makes sense to me that servers would be cognizant of what it’s like to have a hungry toddler wait for half an hour. I did tell them he was hungry and we wanted to get him food right away when we arrived. If they had just told me that they were not to be able to serve us in a timely manner(let alone quickly) I would have been able to adjust a plan the way that made sense for our little family. I think that level of communication would have been good customer service… They are really really friendly, but that doesn’t make up for lack of communication. Just a box of toys does not make a restaurant family friendly… So… If you don’t have kids with you or you are cool with waiting half an hour or more. Then this is your place! The crepes are decent and the space is cozy. And the people are very very friendly, if not the best communicators… I’ll be back, alone with a book, and only slightly hungry…

Had a very mediocre experience here today, as I have in the past. Came in as a party if 6 and sat down right away, which was nice. We were planning on going to Circa 33 next door but it wasn’t open yet. The service was almost too slow, but acceptable. The server brought out our food but forgot to order one of our dishes so we waited for the cook to whip it up. A couple of the eggs were cooked hard instead if over easy. I tried the Moroccan crêpe, fig and prosciutto crêpe, and the pork crêpe and they were all edible but nothing special. I wouldn’t order any of them again. Overall I liked the vibe and was happy to be seated right away but the food just isn’t up to par. I’ll wait for Circa 33 to open next time.

While in France recently, it was clear being a vegan would be near impossible but Suzette follows the Portland tradition of accommodating without compromising French flair. Wonderful, huge buckwheat crepes. This was our first meal out since coming back from Paris– bon appétit

I really like this place. It’s not the typical crepes that I’ve had in the past. The buckwheat batter gives it a unique taste. I like the ambiance, the music selection and the food. The only downside: parking. But that’s everywhere. Welcome to Portland.

After leaving finishing and late lunch, I came here on for their happy hour for something sweet. Sugar and cinnamon crêpe — classic and the best crêpe i tried here. I would just come back for that. Marsala fig and spinach crêpe was interesting, not sure if I liked the flavor combination. I definitely did taste the fig. French Onion soup — the waiter recommended this, but honestly I think there was too much vinegar for my taste. Very sour tasting and could not taste the beef broth.

This was my favorite place that we dined during our weekend visit to Portland. We came in for a very late-lunch at 4pm on a rainy day and the place was quiet and cozy. Our very friendly server said we could sit anywhere so we chose one of the booths. We were given water immediately and a fresh pitcher for refills. I really liked that touch. We ordered the salmon crêpe and the chocolate crêpe. Our server also made the crepes, right behind the bar. I like places where they make the food in front of you because then you feel like you can trust it more. I also like that they have buckwheat flour. Everything was so delicious! Just the right balance of all the ingredients. Great meal! I would come back if I lived in Portland.

The crepes are fabulous w homemade ice cream, chocolat with hazelnut or European lemon curd. This issue is the lighting. I wanted it to be like le happy, dark and candle lit tres chic like its bar neighbor next door circa 33 or the Alto, but alas its brightly lit. Cheers on the vintage typewriter and telephone in the window, just wish the décor and lighting carried the theme throughout. Kudos for Gluten Free.
