Delicious. St Honore has three locations in the Portland area, but I think this one on Division is the nicest. Styled like a French bistro, but also bigger and newer than the NW location. Their savory items are reliably good, and most of their croissant sandwiches come with a mixed green salad with a balsamic dressing. The sweet pastries are even better. For me, the strawberry mille-feuilles are stand-out. I also like their Palmiers.

4.5 stars. It was very hard to find good Canele in USA. St honore did very good job. It was very close to the one I had in Toulouse France. Although they could use real vanilla beans and more rum. The texture was perfect. Crispy outside and custardy inside. My hubby loved his raspberry delight. Very fragrance. And flavorful. Perfect balance of tardiness of raspberry and sweet of chocolate. I had hazelnut chocolate cake. Loved the texture of crunchiness of hazelnuts. It was a bit too sweet. Cappuccino was good. Very nice and relax ambient

Oh my gosh the pastries are to die for!!! Tried several different ones and they were all delish! I am from out of the area but will make a special trip back to Portland just to try more pastries! Lots of varieties of desserts that you can’t find in other places like the Dacquoise and the Strawberry Millefeuille.

Shane is the best. He’s so friendly and was really helpful! And mind you, he was easy on the eyes too ha! Aside from him, this place is perfect! They have caneles! Yes! My favorite when a place has canales! Their croissants are amazingly crispy and flaky and the caneles are just mmmmm. Who would have thought that someone would come up with the idea of a crème brûlée –ish type dessert and make it look burnt and then it ending up taste like fancy rainbows in your mouth? The friend got a sandwich that he really liked as well(I couldn’t taste it bc of the meat but trust him!). Yes yes I think I revisited this place maybe three times in three days??? And will again in my short stay in Portland!

I came here while waiting for dinner down the street. Everything here is reminiscent of French pastries. I got a box of macarons which contained mint chocolate, passion fruit, lemon, raspberry. The macarons were delicious and had the right crunch when I bit into it and we’re full of flavor. The service was good and I’d love to come back for more macarons.

This is just the best little café, their pastry selection is off the charts. They have some really great baked stuff you won’t see elsewhere unless you’re in Paris, and the coffee is super good. When it’s not crowded, lots of nice places to sit!

A bit spendy, but the pastries? Yeah, worth it. Bacon maple croissant. Kouign-Amann. My cappuccino was just ok and I was surprised when I was offered a 12 or 16oz when I asked. Overall though this is one of the best pastry spots I’ve found in Portland.

If you’re a Norcal girl you have to know about the almond and chocolate croissants at Bouchon Bakery in the boozy Napa, CA. Naturally every croissant will thereafter be compared to the one at Bouchon, and St. Honore holds its ground. The flakiness of the croissants here are unreal, and their hazelnut chocolate croissant is on par with the almond chocolate variety at Bouchon. I desperately wanted to bring back a box for home, but when you eat in Portland you eat so much that no one really deserves more croissants. Yum yum yum!

Went here with a couple of friends for a quick and delicious brunch. We were lucky as there was no line and open seating… which is rare on a Sunday in Portland. The service was very friendly and quick. We ordered a jug of mimosa(only $ 14). The mimosa tasted very good and had plenty of vitamin c! The croque madame was made perfectly with a poached egg on top. Overall…a great meal and experience with good company.

Came here for trying out some deserts on a trip to Portland. They have good options. We ended up ordering chocolate croissant, resin croissant and few other items. For some reason the person taking the order forgot one item. He later sent it to our table on the house. Very nice gesture and really appreciate that they care. Would definitely come here again when visiting this area.

It’s was our first visit here. The place is nice and bright but feels a little cramped. We decided to try the chocolate raspberry delice and it was very good. I subtracted one star because I thought the cashier wasn’t very friendly. On a side note, finding parking in this area sucks.

This place is amazing!!! Fingerlickin good! Me and my daughter came here for breakfast on my day off and enjoyed a savory stuffed croissant and a latte which was perfectly done. You won’t go wrong with your selection. I would definitely recommend it, even the plain croissants are so buttery and flaky

I hate to give one star because the gentleman working there were so nice. However based on the café au lait, mille fille, and chocolate croissant, I have to give one star. Café au lait, watered down and bitter for no good reason. Mille fille… where can I start. The pie crust between had burnt taste and hard to cut in when it’s supposed to break in with a fork. Vanilla custard between not the sugar and cream cheese frosting like in between the crust. The filling would have done well on the cupcake but not Mille fille. Chocolate croissant, it had that fridge old taste like. When you bite into croissant, it’s flake outside and soft inside. I am sorry but it was all disappointment. All other bread did not look french standard to me.

Popped in for a latte and a pastry after a workout across the street. I almost left without the latte because the maple bacon croissant put my head in right up the clouds. I’m not usually swooning over savory sweet pastries, but this little French beret was magnifique! They obviously make killer croissants because if you had taken the maple and bacon out of the equation, you would have been left with a perfectly chewy, flaky, buttery number. But, they one upped themselves by wrapping a piece of bacon a couple times around the croissant and glazing the outside with a thin drizzle of maple frosting. Service was friendly, they offer complimentary wifi(password and network printed on a board for your convenience), and beer and wine, as well!

Had given them a 5 star rating before, but with the addition of 2 large T.V.s the feel of the place is changing… the menu is getting a little stale as well, with less attention to detail generally over time it seems :( the espresso is still one of my favorites in town, without a doubt.

Desserts are so good! Division area has become a wonderful place for great restaurants. My husband and I are fans of St Honore Boulangerie in Lake Oswego and very happy they opened many other locations. After some shopping, we decided to stop by for some sweets, coffee, and tea. My husband gets coffee and I get tea. I am an avid tea drinker and fan. St Honore has a good selection of tea and coffee. And lets not forget the french pastries. So very yummy! We were surprised to see a line up of hard ciders at the Division location too. We’ve been there many times for lunch as well. My favorite is the grilled brie bartlett panini. The brie is so creamy and yummy along with the prosciutto, making the sandwich a nice blend of savory and sweet. Their homemade soups are also fabulous with unique spices to warm up a cold day.

Great service and great selection. One of us had picked up a takeout from a food stall when we stopped by, so the other one of us can get a sandwich and dessert. The staff was very cool and helpful and had no issues with one of us bringing food from outside. The sandwich was great. We also tried the flourless cake made with ground almonds, puréed orange and a hint of ginger and that was amazing.

Just came here and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Richmond croissant and could not have been more impressed. It had two eggs and bacon on a warm croissant with a side salad. The eggs we’re poached perfectly and the croissant was soft and flaky. It tasted amazing. My girlfriend got an egg frittata looking thing and she loved it. The inside was warm and inviting and the patio was perfectly off the street with a good view. They also sell many French desserts. Overall i absolutely loved it and will definitely be back! What a gem.

Came in last night right before closing. The guy working at the counter was super friendly and nice. We got a hazelnut chocolate croissant, a chocolate croissant, and an apple turnover. The two filled croissants were my favorites, but I’m not a big fan of apple pie type things.

Disclaimer: French cuisine is not my favorite, so my rating may be slightly downward biased. We have lived off division for 18 months now, and this is my first trip to St. Honore. I was very impressed with the ambience and the quality of the food. They have great pastry selection as well as plentiful pre-made lunch sandwiches. I tried the Strasbourg panini which was good for a lunch counter baguette. What I really enjoyed was the vegetarian French onion soup. One of the best vegetarian soups I have eaten in Portland or elsewhere. The service was friendly and we were given free pastry samples since it was our first visit. Although my wife dragged me to St. Honore, I walked away pleasantly surprised. I will definitely be back sometime in the near future.

How did I miss this bakery before? I guess I missed it in the hustle bustle of salt and straw’s line of people on division st. Very pretty French décor, good cappuccino(cheaper than other places), decent beer and ciders on tap and last but definitely not the least. the amazing pastries! We got a poached pear and almond butter pastry and a coffee chocolate pastry. Both were delicious. It was hard to choose the ones we wanted from their selection. They also had bread and sandwiches which we will surely try the next time we are there.

I want to give 1 start just to balance out all the 5 stars. It’s not that this place is bad, it’s just that it’s not as amazing as other reviewers think. It’s probably the best pastry shop in Portland, but that’s like being the tallest midget. Let’s be honest, this place is an OK bakery and their kouign amanns are pretty horrible. Now, the kouign amann and other pastries are a bunch of sugar and butter, so it’s not going to taste bad, but is it up to par with what a kouign amann is supposed to look and taste like? No, not at all. The top should be folded, not flat. The outsides should have a glaze, not just the top(and the top’s glaze is way too thick). The inside should be more buttery, and not so bready. Personally, I think it should be somewhat larger, which also helps give it more variation within. If you want a kouign amann, get out of Portland. No need to go to France or somewhere snobbish, but just be ready for a disappointment if you’re not from here.

I’ve been to plenty of French bakeries and many disappoint. This one did NOT! The coffee cream-filled éclair was wonderful — light choux pastry, delicious cream and the right balance between pastry and cream. The kouign amann was everything you want one to be: buttery, flaky, sugary. It vanished quickly.(one of my friends had never had kouign amann before and she’s going to be hard-pressed to find a better one!) The orange frangipane cake/pastry was also yummy with wonderful orange flavor and a crumbly and moist interior. Not dried out at all. If we weren’t stopping at other bakeries, I would have loved to try more — croissants, baguettes, maybe a savory sandwich. That can be on my next trip to Portland!

St. Honorè is fantastic, and this location is a wonderful addition to Division st. The service is friendly and knowledgable. The pastries and bread are out of this world good. My favorite is the Apple Normandy. It’s like a rich, fresh apple bread pudding and a croissant got together and had a baby. Sooo good. The Egg Cocotte is a big win for brunch in my book. The eggs are fluffy, with rich cheese and bacon on the side. There is fresh arugula in the Cocotte that cuts the richness of the egg and cheese and brings it to a nice tummy agreeable level. My little ones love the seed and grain rolls. They have toasted sesame seeds and sea salt on the crust. Who doesn’t love that! The cocktails are delightful. Especially the cider sangrias. They have a mimosa deal for brunch, I believe bottomless, but don’t quote me on it :). This little bakery has a lot to offer. Xoxo St. Honorè.

Stopped by for dessert after an Indian dinner. Baked items are scrumptious. Coffee is plenty string and ballsey. It will remove the taste of anything you ate before from memory and energize your step. They have good looking sandwiches but I didn’t try any.

Delicious desserts & pastries! Some items are a bit pricey. But most prices are pretty comparable to other places in Portland. My new favorite — Mirliton de Rouen — if you like almond & pear. It’s got great flavor, texture and balance. I have been to this location on multiple occasions and it never disappoints. The beautifully prepared pastries taste as good as they look. Whenever I visit St. Honore I get the chouquettes. They come in a small paper sack and are delightfully sweet and airy. I don’t know if you can get them anywhere else. For breakfast, we recently shared a breakfast Croissant sandwich(egg & sausage) & Croque Madame and they were served with a side of mixed greens and both as sandwiches were rich and delicious. I’ve tried many pastries! All good. Here are some: St. Honore has cream puffs and caramely goodness together. Canele is a cute delicious custard flavored treat that has a firm outer shell with soft custard like texture inside. This one is little pricey but tasty. I’ve seen this around $ 2 – 2.5 at other bakeries around town. Tarte citron is strong lemon and tasty crust! Grille aux pommes — no added sugar to the applesauce, looks like a mini pie. Delicious. Kouign Amann — like salty & buttery things. Get this. Chocolate Raspberry Delice — Flourless chocolate cake layers with chocolate mousse, crème brulée and raspberry gelée. Tasty & rich in flavor. Today, I just tried sweet potato pastry that was delightful.
