I find it somewhat ironic that my friend and I used to make fun of the fact that SP used to use these pathetic stock photos from Google to advertise their food. When in reality their food was beautiful and delicious. I had bragged to my wife about the quantity and quality of the falafel plate since I had frequented the SE location. The picture shows 5 beautiful falafels on a mound of rice with veggies and sauce. Finally made an accurate picture. I was excited. What we got was the equivalent of 2 and a half falafels but they were smashed too. I would show the picture, but out of respect I’ll leave it off. When I asked the employee about my meager portion(I can’t imagine I was the first) he responded that it was how he was told to make them. He wasn’t to eager to acquiesce me, restating that the boss told him that was how it was supposed to be. I can’t really fault the employee for just doing what he was told, so if you are reading this I mean no ill will toward you good sir. However if you are the boss and you are reading this, this is an unacceptable position to put your employees in. He has to sell a product that is definitely not to the standard that is advertised. I love the SE location and love the gyros that I have gotten from there. I doubt I will be back to the Mississippi location, and really kind of question if I’ll frequent any location. Sorry, all you had to do was deliver on what you promise to your customers. Two falafel balls… that’s it.

A friend and I found this new addition to the Mississippi food cart pod last week and decided to try the $ 10 Kafka plate(essentially beef meatballs over rice, with sides of steamed veggies and salad). The pictures of the food looked great, and the young lad manning the booth with friendly enough, but when we got the food, all the kafka meatballs were totally raw on the inside — not a juicy/slightly pink«medium», but raw to the point that it was still that it was still that mush of raw egg and ground meat. Ok, so it’s a new cart, probably a newer/young cook, mistakes happen, it’s not a big deal to me to go back and ask the cook to throw the meat back on the grill or in the micro to cook it through. Unfortunately, when I told him it was really undercooked to my liking and asked for it to be cooked more, he replied«it’s supposed to be like that». I told him I liked it cooked more, and asked for him to reheat it until the inside is cooked, and then he pointed to the line of 6 people still waiting to order and said he didn’t have time. So, if I can’t get fully-cooked kafta, I asked if I could get my money back. The guy gave a heavy sigh, took the food back, and said he’d recook it. 15 minutes later, after the other people got their food, he finally recooked ours. Despite the meat tasting ok, after that kind of service failure I’m pretty sure I won’t be back unless they make some major changes to their cooking process or how they handle a simple request to cook a meat a bit more.

Whoa!!! Found them by accident when a Groupon for another business had closed next door. Love Gyros but THIS! Wow! By far the best I have ever had. Amazing flavor, loaded with tender lamb & veggies and wrapped in a warm flat bread. Too large to eat at one sitting, so I was able to enjoy it for lunch the next day as well. Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! …and it’s $ 5! See ya next week!

This place has the most perfectly flavored, tender lamb I’ve ever had. I got the lamb salad that comes with hummus, tzatziki sauce and stuffed grape leaves. Huge portions.

You can’t go wrong with this food cart. I was able to feed my family of four for under twenty dollars and we still had leftovers. THELAMBISPERFECTLYSEASONED. We ordered a Gryo which was stuffed with LAMB, Lamb over rice with all the fixins on the side, and the Falafel plate. The falafel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfectly cooked. The service is timely and considerate, perfect for a short lunch our a grab and go. Five bucks for the Gryo. Man I’m going to get one right now.

They’re the only food truck around here that stays open late(pro tip: drunk people get hungry) and the food is delicious.

Wow. Wow. Wow. GIGANTIC gyros STUFFED with tender, moist chunks of lamb, lettuce and a surprise delight of pickled vegetables. Did I mention GIGANTIC? And $ 5? The best deal in town! Located in the Mississippi Ave food cart pod, they also have chicken and falafel gyros, kaftas, dolmas, baklava and Greek salad. For those not in a Greek mood– burgers, fries and hot dog, too!
