For a city that prides itself on its beer, I had to check out a German beer garden in Portland. Nice wide selection. Lots of different mixes. It was nice to not see 90% of the beers on the menu dedicated to IPAs. I liked the spot. The outdoor parts weren’t massive, but not small by any stretch. It’s not typical beer garden size but you could easily have six different large groups of people hanging outside there. Seems like a good spot for a group.

One of the first sunny, warm Saturdays of the year and this place was packed! We were tired from walking around Mississippi and decided to stop in for a quick bite. I, having newly had some fun oral surgery, prayed that their beer cheese soup would be good.(The boyfriend can eat anything so no worries for him) The soup was SO good that is actually has now set the bar for all other beer cheese soups. I wish the future beer cheese soups good luck because this Prost’s soup was smooth, creamy, flavorful and yet not heavy. There was light beer taste that really complimented the cheese so now I apparently have to go all the way to North Portland for the best beer cheese soup. The boyfriend ordered a gigantic slab of meat that came with some mustard, saurkraut and a few other things and he was happily full! We both are hoping to come back sooner than later and explore the menu a bit more.(P.S. The waitress was so great!)

Cool little spot with all german beer! Did I tell you German beer is my #1 favorite? It is! I mean I guess if you’ve had monks brewing for thousands of years you’re going to get It right, Belgian monks also know what they are doing. Beer from Oregon and Washington also amaaazing. I digress. This is a good spot for trying German beers, the end.

This place is fun. They have some tasty German beers on draft and a surprisingly good house infused Jim Beam(it actually kind of old fashioned like). Their pretzel and beer cheese soup(two separate items) are tasty too. Service and atmosphere are nice as well. I’d definitely come back when in the area.

Solid bar, day or night! Surprisingly excellent Blood Marys here! Nice balance of Worcestershire and hot sauce(I’m hoping aardvark). It’s got a salt rim and topped with lemon, lime and 3 olives. They have 11 beers on tap, mostly German beers. The ambiance is very chill. Most everything is made of wood and it’s a very welcoming and comfortable place to drink with friends. There’s an outdoor patio area where you can bring in food from the stands and eat. Overall, this place is amazing! Looking for a cool places to drink, day or night, def. check this place out!

Good German beer and the pretzels are to die for. Seriously, get a pretzel. Also, being next to so many great food trucks doesn’t hurt.

Here is the deal. Portland has A LOT of great places. Local beers that are terrific. But Prost. Prost!!! This place is heavenly on a warm early spring day. Doors wide open, good music, awesome German beers, pretty good food carts. This is as good as Portland life gets. Not to mention Ted. The single best bar dude on the planet. This place has it nailed! Thank you Prost!!!

Great selection of German beer, and the accompanying mugs are appropriate for each one. e.g. the landbier came in a big stein. They also had an offbeat banana and clove beer that day, served in a tall slender glass. Repurposed garage with an industrial rollup door that opens to a nice biergarten out back. European(shared) seating throughout. Fantastic place to drink in the summer. Food was decent, not great. Then again, a bratwurst sandwich and sauerkraut only has so much room for inspiration. Can get crowded and service slows down predictably when it is. Just plan your drink and food orders accordingly.

Love the food and the bier. Zero complaints other than when it gets too crowded. Small place and fills fast when the weekend hits. Get the brats and sauerkraut.

If you like German beer here’s the place. I enjoy coming here with friends more than one cause you need three to order«The Boot». Enjoy your beer but please don’t break the boot. It will cost you! The also enjoy the sausage sampler. For 10 $

Don’t go for the food. It consists of uninspired German wurst, kraut, and pretzel cliches. No spaetzle can be found here :( Rather, go for the beer. The selection is great, the bar atmosphere is great for drinking, and the waitress/bartender was great.

Sooper fun plc to hangout with groups! Try shoe beer n gulp in one shot with rotation among friends! It would make great if they have some more additions to snack n food to go with beer! Cheers.

Great German bar on Mississippi. The food is alright but in reality you should be coming here For their beer. Good place To start the night. Bartenders are super friendly have a great verity of beers and I love how you can order a huge liter of beer. Makes you feel like a real man. One thing that people should all try out is drinking from the boot. Need at least 4 people to do it but it’s a ton of fun. Feel free to sit outside and be prepared at Times to share your table with strangers. In reality it’s part of the experience and everyone I’ve met there is friendly and there to enjoy themselves and have a good time. Great place for drinks on a first date if she likes beers and you also want to take side glances at the games playing on their TVs.

My goodness! Talk about good beer selection, ESPECIALLY during October first. I love, love, love PROST! The vibe is relaxed. There are community tables, and a very cool, well sized patio. Their servers are beautiful and so nice! Get a pretzel, get a pretzel sandwich, get a bratwurst. their food is delicious as well. I can’t wait to go back!

I really like the servers, the food and atmosphere. The bartender was super easy going and didn’t mind getting us water, even bringing it to our table… But man… Their utensils are dirty… And not in the good way… It’s like when you have a one night stand with a co-worker, then find out a week later he also hooked up with a girl nicknamed The Clap Carole… Yea… That kind of dirty

Definitely very hip and fun place to bring a group of people. All the German beers were poured so perfectly in a mug with foam on top with sizes like .3L, .5L, and 1L. We ordered the pretzel which was also delicious but small. I’ll have to come back and try more beers!

Such a cool spot! Great for BEER! They have sooo many different types and so many kinda of glasses. It’s great because you can get the regular size a medium size or afull boot! how fun. They have q little bit of room on the inside and a lot of room outside(which is great in the summer time) You drink like Germans so you all sit at different tables together. There are two bars, 1 inside and 1 outside. And there are also people walking around taking your order, so that’s super helpful if you’re small like me and have a hard time getting through to the bar. they do have a bouncer at the door so that’s nice that he kinds of keeps things calm during the day time they open their back gate so that you can walk into the food cart area, you’re not allowed to walk down with your alcohol but you can certainly bring food up from there!
