Skinnidip

Regardless of what Unilocal thinks, this place has never been closed. It went through a temporary name change to Bridgetown Yogurt but it has always been the same product, and has the same owner as the other Skinnidip on Burnside.
I love this place because the yogurt is good, the staff is nice, the store is always clean, and they have FRESH fruit that gets cut up daily. I also like that you can mix & match cookies on the cookie sandwich, although I don’t eat that often. Their smoothies are amazing, but kind of pricey. I wish they had cheaper smoothies.
I recommend the parfait with all the berries & granola. Super nutritious, and awesome!

Heads up! This place is back in business! The name just changed for a bit, but they are open and awesome as ever!

Disappointing. I was hoping for the awesome toppings bar and hot fudge and instead you pay by the toppings and they make it for you. Won’t be coming back.

Best tart in Oregon. Not your suburban, sugar coma froyo self serve. Pink berry counter service style, tastiness that leaves you happy and feeling great.

Dropped by this place after hitting up Bastille Day earlier this year. I was disappointed at the lack of flavors and the fact it wasn’t self serve. I’ve been spoiled in the ‘burbs by being able to go in and take just as much as like (and ya know, can pay for) without having to worry about sizes.
I had the peach mango with bits of pineapple on top. It was good and refreshing but for the price I felt urged to finish the whole (small) dish to get my moneys worth. I’d go there again if we’re craving froyo and right there but probably wouldn’t made an out-​of-​the-​way request

This had been a long time family favorite stop (we live in the neighborhood, and the peach-​mango is wonderful) — until this past Friday. After ordering three yogurts, my four year old asked for a cup of water. The young girl working counter said, «Sorry, we can’t give you any, but you can buy a bottled water.»
Um, no. That was the last money I’ll spend there. I’m sure it’s not the counter girl’s fault, but a business too cheap to give a cup of water to a regular doesn’t get my business.

Love this! I usually just get the plain yogurt as it is so good and makes me feel so good. My husband and I come here every time we are downtown as it is so far superior to normal yogurt places.

This is the only froyo place I’ve been to, so I’m sure my four star rating is a bit biased. Skinnidip loses a star for their price. I think I paid nearly $ 4 for a small with one topping. That seems excessive. For how rarely I treat myself to froyo, though, and how it satisfies me… I let it go. The price definitely deters me from making it a regular part of my diet though. Same with the lack of punchcard. I always get the regular (which is a tart flavor) with strawberries on top. This particular location is always completely empty and the people that work there always look horribly bored, but it is just coming off of winter in Portland so I don’t blame them. I’d recommend it for a quick, relatively healthy treat while walking through the pearl.

Not enough toppings, not self serve. ‘Nuff said.

I’d give it 5 stars but this ain’t no pinkberry.
BUT it is Delish! The chocolate is the best dark chocolate indulgence and it’s low fat — totally crave it all the time! Wish they had punch cards. I could get the gift card and get a free cup but this place obviously doesn’t get the human motivation — incentive factor why the punchcards work so well.
Whatever, I will still come and get my froyo. Until they open up a pinkberry in PDX!

Froyo Boy Here! Another City — another frozen yogurt theme…
Gayle, my son, and I stopped here last week as we were taking one last walk around the Pearl District before heading out. Gayle ordered Mango, my son chose Raspberry, and I mooched off both of them. We didn’t order any toppings as this was our first time and we wanted Skinnidip to be gentle and respect us in the morning.
For this hot Portland day, our frozen yogurt was smooth, tart, tasty, and quite refreshing. And sometimes that’s all you need…

Fresh Fruit + Frozen Yogurt = So, So Delicious!
The wife and I love this place! They have a selection of fresh fruit toppings like raspberries, blueberries, mangoes, kiwis, etc. plus other sweets like white chocolate chips and cheesecake pieces. All go great with their variety of yogurt flavors. My favorite is the original tart; the wife likes raspberry. They also offer chocolate because, well why wouldn’t any respectable yogurt shop?! I believe the yogurt is YoCream product, which if you’ve been to a YoCream (cascade Station/​PDX) you know it’s all tasty.
My only dislike is that it can add up to be a pricey date. But, one that’s well worth it.

Meandered by this joint on last First Thursday and stopped in as I’ve been wanting to try this yogurt. Standing inside, I realized «Oh. I’ve been here before.» Yup, must not have been that memorable the first time and wasn’t the second go around either. I am just not into the traditional tart-​y/​sour frozen yogurt. The sourness and tartness obviate the sweet toppings (say m&m’s or chocolate chips), so it doesn’t serve its purpose for me… which is to get my sweet fix. Meh.

Started craving frozen yogurt immediately after having some falafel downtown and boy did this hit the spot. Shared a mango frozen yogurt with fresh mango and strawberry on top. The mango was perfectly ripe and cut in rather large cubes (I’ve had experiences where the mango wasn’t ripe enough *ahem* Pinkberry). The yogurt was tart and creamy. I sampled their original tart and while it was nice and creamy, it had the sliiiiiightest chalky aftertaste… it’s not that bad really, in fact, I’d still order it but after having several other frozen yogurts, I’ve had better plain tart elsewhere.
Also sampled their raspberry and it really tasted like raspberry yogurt (the non frozen kind)…I kinda wished it had a more raspberry sherbet taste that I’ve grown to love (Bay Area kids: Tartini in Cupertino has fantastic raspberry).

Not bad, not bad.
I like how fresh their mango topping is and also how the tart «original» flavor just grabs your taste buds and doesn’t let go.
They need to offer fruity pebbles as a topping option because those are my favorite and charging an extra dollar for each additional topping does seem ridiculous.
A medium size is good for two people and the mango yogurt is really good.

Frozen Yogurt is definitely a passion of mine. Living on the east coast for a few years is where the passion really began and I’ve been interested in all Frozen Yogurt shops since finding the little family owned yogurt shop in Richmond. Well, Skinnidip being one of the first stops, I was impressed!
The yogurt attendant was extremely helpful and was probably one of the nicest people you could encounter in the Pearl! She was happy to let me sample any of the yogurt flavors (which was the 4 mentioned below Thilo’s review!) — and we decided on the chocolate. Very good for chocolate yogurt, have never had better!
The only disappointment would be the price, but I guess that comes with a trendy yogurt shop!
Will definitely be visiting again in my frozen yogurt days :-)

Usually, when I mention a «he» or a «we» in my reviews, I am referring to my boyfriend. But the «he» part of my «we» when it comes to Skinnidip is my adorable Golden Retriever, Oscar. Oscar and I love to go to Skinnidip. He drinks from the water bowl they keep outside and watches me, his big old tongue hanging out of his mouth, while I get my chocolate fro-​yo with strawberries or peanut butter chips, and his plain frozen yogurt (it’s actually plain, not vanilla, so I don’t feel like a totally irresponsible pet owner for giving it to him!). It’s our little stop on nice evenings after dinner, or an Oscar-​workout at the dog park. The frozen yogurt is tasty, the rotating group of high school girls who staff the counter are slow and inefficient but friendly, but my trips to Skinnidip are really all about watching Oscar inhale his yogurt in ten seconds once we get home.
Sometimes the boyfriend even gets to come, too.

With our first run of sunny days this year, ice cream was an appropriate treat to celebrate. With an upcoming beach trip to Mexico, frozen yogurt modified the celebration a bit. Here we come fro-​yo.
I ordered the original flavor thinking «vanilla, sweet, yum,» but learned it really meant plain yogurt flavor, as in borderline sour cream. That’s fair, but I regretted not ordering the mango or chocolate versions my friends got. Thank god I piled on kiwis and raspberries to give it some sweetness. I felt healthy, though. *unconvincing yay*
Damn, this stuff is expensive. Damn, I wish I got the other flavors. If you’re going to pile on the chocolate and other sweets, why the hell get a healthy dessert unless you’re lactose intolerant?

I’m glad they opened a location closer to my home to feed my frozen yogurt addiction. Though the staff seems less than friendly and the mochi always is hard. The place is almost always on the quiet side, compared to the Burnside location; that would explain the hard mochi.
