I really like this restaurant. It was the first Sizzler I’ve been to and the first time around I made the mistake of ordering a meal with the salad bar but I ate so much at the salad bar I didn’t even touch my meal. The second time I came here I just got the salad bar and totally over ate. They’ve got a taco station, salad, soup, pasta, chicken wings, cottage cheese with tons of fresh fruit and plenty of desert options. You will not leave here with an empty stomach. The wait staff is friendly and the whole restaurant is beautiful and clean. In the time I was here, less than an hour, I saw the staff refresh parts of the salad bar four times. They are putting effort into making a great dining experience. Both times I was here the counter service was a little slow which is the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

Great service! We were promptly greeted with a warm smile and seated. The food was exactly what we expected, normal for Izzys. Dude refreshes my lemonade without prompting from me. The Manager at this location seems to be doing a splendid job training and motivating the staff.

I went back, not quite a year since my last visit, hoping for changes. While I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw, there is still room on your journey Mr Sizzler. What’s better: The salad bar — they charge quite a premium for it and it felt like it has made a lot of progress in delivering value for the money. Your typical extended salad bar with some taco/nach/taco salad fixings as well. The desert side — ice cream sundae’s with brownies and other fixings. The service — attentive, visible, working as a team, friendly, welcoming. Top notch at this price point. The steak was ordered medium rare and was delivered(mostly) medium rare, only slightly overcooked. What’s needed: When you buy their«signature steak» and it’s tough, even ordering it medium rare, that’s no bueno. You gotta get the signature food right. I know good steak ain’t cheap, but mediocre steak ain’t worth even what you’re charging for it now. Want some free advice? I know you’re a chain and you can’t alter the menu locally but having an herbed butter topping for the steak would be a leap forward in flavor. See you in a year

We have been coming here for years. The salad bar was my favorite until our last visit. Salad bar was being stocked by staff not wearing gloves. She was trying to use tongs but dropped something with each refill. Dropped foods were picked up off the counter with bare hands and returned to the salad bar. I questioned our server to ask if staff should be wearing gloves. He said he didn’t know and basically ignored my concerns. Sorry to say I won’t be going back ever!

This was a very disappointing experience. The steak was not cooked as ordered, it was overcooked and very tough. The strip steak was thin and had 4 plus ounces of fat. My wife’s sirloin was tough and chewy. The salad bar was a disaster with terrible taco meat, cold chicken wings and cheap salad dressing. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. They should have gone out of business in the 1980s. I paid 18.00 for a 7.00 steak. I liked this place as a kid in Grants Pass. It is nothing like it was in the 80s. Buyer Beware!!!

Been here twice… both experiences were awful. Once before the remdel, and after. Ordered steak both times, med-rare. Both meals were over $ 20. First time, it came med-well, the second time it came almost raw. Both times, the steak was 1⁄3rd gristle and fat… they dont trim their steaks. Also, it was WAY over seasoned… made my lips burn. The salad bar is terrible… tried the Mediterranean salad, and the artichokes were rotten. Got some spring greens, and they too were rotten. Told the manager, and they did not replace it. Both were untouched when I left. Only saving grace was the calm chowder. Overpriced, awful food… will not be back, and I live in the neighborhood. Leave this place to the blue haired people.

Thought I would try their fish and chips, worse meal I’ve ever had. Fish must have been straight out of a box in the freezer into a deep fryer.

Worst dining experience I’ve had there in years. First off, the wait staff were very friendly, and that was nice, and I appreciated that. What went wrong is when I took my first bite of my medium-rare steak, the flavor was indescribably odd. To me, and my dinner partner it tasted like bad meat. What I also found peculiar was the fact that when I cut into my steak, there was no blood whatsoever. Instead of being pink inside, it was like grey jello. Just disgusting. So I sent it back, and this time asked for a steak well-done. The new steak arrived as requested, and had the same peculiar flavor! I ate only one bite of it and went for the unlimited salad bar, which was equally horrifying. It was about 6:30pm, and the entire buffet/salad bar was a mess. Everything I wanted was either completely out, or very nearly out, and what was left over looked like it had been sitting around since lunch! None of the wait staff went near that salad bar/buffet to restock it. Not only that, but their soft serve machine spat out the equivalent of cold milk into our bowls, and that is what we had for dessert(because everything else was gone) — cold, sweetened milk with strawberry topping. My friend and I ate very sparingly, as we were so horrified to have each spent $ 17 on such a sub-par meal. So sorry we picked Sizzler.

I have been here on several occasions with family, and service is always friendly, though sometimes quite slow, and the food has been decent– not amazing, though pretty good for the price, especially for lunch. However, the last time my family went, everyone had eaten the same breakfast and lunch that day. Everyone had their typical entrees, and only my brother had the salad bar. He loaded p on things from the salad bar. Later, he was extremely sick with symptoms of food poisoning– no one else was sick. The only thing he had different from the rest of the family that day was his entrée at Sizzler, and the salad bar there. We called to let them know(considering it was either 1. an issue with their poplar salad bar or 2. an issue with his entrée, which is not comforting considering the Sizzer E. Coli breakout in the 90s…). Their response? That it was unfortunate. Thats it. They were completely uninterested, offered no indication that they planned to look into the issue in their restaurant, nor did they even offer a sincere apology. We will not ever be returning, because their lackluster food is not worth a health risk.

We’ve been coming here since we moved from Anchorage in 2013 until it was on a fire tragedy and been waiting for reopening. We always order the Half Dozen Jumbo Skewered Shrimp comes with unlimited salad bar. And as usual we always end up taking our order home since the all you can eat salad bar, crispy chicken wings, garlic toast & other stuff fills us up. The remodeling job was very nice and even have the blue lighting supposedly slows down your eating habit at any buffet(as seen on Travel Channel). We never order the fancy menus since the salad bar cannot be beat(for the price) and soft serve ice cream. If you want a really good steak a steakhouse would be the best, but pay the price.

This place is not good. This was my first time here and my last. It is extremely expensive for what it is. Everything is packaged and not fresh. My daughter got the Mac and cheese and it was just kraft Mac and cheese that you get at the grocery store and they charged almost $ 6 for it! The server was awful and took my friends plate before they were even done. Don’t waste your time or money.

Wait staff good… Food awful!!! Salad old, steak fatty, WEIRD steak sauce!(Like BBQ sauce with a massive overdose of nutmeg… Nasty!), cheap fake ice cream, and even the soda was flat! We don’t plan to go back!

I have been searching for a good salad bar that was affordable. A friend suggested I try here and I am glad I took her advice. The salad bar is not as expansive as others in the area but they did have everything I wanted to include in my salad bar experience. The food was fresh and no brown lettuce. Huge pet pieve of mine brown lettuce yuck. They have several salad dressings to choose from with plenty of toppings to add to the deliciousness. For the salad bar price you get to enjoy the hot tables as well as the dessert tables. When I crave a salad bar this will be my go to place.

Not a fan of the main dishes but the wings and salads are good and the staff is very friendly. I also love the strawberry lemonade.

I think the main reason I wanted to go here was because I had this preconceived notion that it was going to be this happy, bustling eatery with lots of happy, bustling patrons everywhere. Well, that wasn’t it. What I found instead was a slow, depressing and pathetic place that reminded me of the Hometown Buffet and Izzy’s. Yes, I just admitted that I’ve eaten at those, too. No offense to either. It’s just a real challenge to find an all you can eat salad bar in Portland, for whatever reason. They have an endless salad bar offering that I just couldn’t pass up because, well, you can never get too much salad, right? I would have been better staying at home and buying all the ingredients myself. The choices are limited if you’re looking for fresh salad selections that just might make you feel like you’re doing something good for yourself. Unfortunately, most of the items are pasta or mayonnaise laden salads that I wouldn’t even consider eating. So, I opted for 2 trips for the best stuff I could find. To be fair though, I have to say that the staff was really friendly and helpful. They were trying, I have to give them that. Trying to look like you’re happy about being there must have been a serious challenge for them but they seemed to pull it off quite well. I would never go back, even if they offered to feed me for free. It really is that bad. If you ever have a need to wallow in your own slump, this would be a good place. If you’re actually in search of your happy place, this would not be it. Bön Appetite.

Four stars for a Sizzler? Here’s the deal: you know Sizzler is not the Ringside, right? So you’re expectations should be properly adjusted before entering. There is a place for Sizzler in the restaurant world. Let’s say your grandparents, or another older relative, is visiting you and they want to «take you out to dinner.» Well, friend, you’re going to Sizzler. And that’s fine; it’s appropriate to the situation. If you are taking out business associates after a successful bank merger, then Sizzler is not really the steakhouse you are looking for. See? Different situation. So back to the four stars. This Sizzler is clean, and the staff is very friendly and efficient, which counts for a lot. So, don’t expect the best meal of your life(you’re not paying enough for it, remember), and thank Grandpa for dinner. And just have a nice time, even if your steak might not be perfect, or whatever.

The last time I dined at any SIZZLER was just before their poor sanitation sickened many people — a couple of decades ago While I’ve never gotten ill eating at a SIZZLER — all the news reports back in the 90s just kind of stuck in my mind. But, Sweetie suggested we give it a try on Sunday. Not too busy, got in and it didn’t take long to place our orders and be seated. The salad bar was better than I remembered — offering a wide range of foods that would rival a Sweet Tomatoes outlet. Sweetie got the 8 oz steak and baked potato. She said it was pretty good; but below Applebee’s quality for about the same price. I had the baked salmon. It was still a bit raw in the middle of the thick part of the portion. Thus, it was tender and flaky. But it SMELLED a bit like cat food; perhaps a couple of days old. It would have been OK if they offered it «blackened» and spiced up to hide the smell and oldish taste. Will we go back again? Maybe. With limited finances, we tend to choose places we can afford — where the food is always good to excellent.

It was a little more expensive than other Sizzlers(maybe the price went up recently?) but overall the food was good and the restaurant was clean. The service was decent as well. I was disappointed by, of all things, the Texas toast(which they’re known for). Elsewhere it’s been fantastic, but at this Sizzler it was sub-par if that. Edit: I went back a couple of days after this and the Texas toast was much better. The rest of the meal was just as good or better. Upgrading to 4 stars.
