salty, heavy, and just not appetizing. I’ve had way way better chinese food at Panda or any other mall stop.

I understand when you go to eat, you’re there for the food and not particularly for the service or even the décor and therefore, we may overlook service that is perhaps lacking or delayed or a bathroom that makes you prefer to use a bush. No one is perfect and we all have our bad days. However, there is only a degree of «poor service» that I believe you can accommodate or overlook before it affects your eating experience and you(I) would refuse to return regardless of how good or cheap the food may be. In the past, I had heard from other friends that they don’t like coming here because of the terrible service; however, I had excused it as that hadn’t been my experience until now. I came here with my parents and siblings for a late Mother’s Day brunch about a week ago. However, we were appalled that the waitress/hostess completely ignored our group after we had been waiting for awhile to be seated and chose to seat the Chinese family standing behind us. Worst part is, she never even came back to us or even acknowledged us. We had to finally approach someone to point out the blatant lack of service and acknowledgment to us before they seated us with an attitude. To make matters worse, after we were finally seated, the waitress informed us that we could not order from the menu and could ONLY eat whatever they had available for dim sum. As this was late afternoon, we were confused since 1) other tables were obviously eating food from the menu; and 2) the dim sum selections were limited to only 4 – 5 dishes! My poor elderly parents were very hungry since we had waited for so long to be sesated so we attempted to overlook their rude service and limited food options and stayed. My younger sister was getting very upset and my mom was trying to calm her and all our growing agitation regarding the whole experience by telling us it was«all right» although she was having difficulty swallowing the bland and over oily food. I drank a lot of tea to wash down the heavy oil in the food. We eat a lot of chinese food since my mother is a quarter Chinese and there are a lot of Chinese influence in the Vietnamese culture and food; however, I would have to admit that since this establishment has gone through new management, the service AND food was highly lacking and honestly, unacceptable. I’ve definitely had better chinese food AND service somewhere else. Portland is a diverse city where we have many restaurants that accommodate all different palates and cultures. So, if you want good chinese food AND acceptable service, I would not recommend this place. You won’t find me here again.

New Management has The WORST Service I’ve Experience in a Long Time! NEVERCOMINGBACK! So, i come here with my parents(my dad is in a wheelchair) and i’m standing there waiting to get seated and the waitress comes up and rather than seat us she completely ignores us and seat the people behind me(they came after me!). I don’t know if its because i don’t speak Chinese and majority of their workers do not speak English & they prefer to deal with Chinese ppl, but it was very insulting and rude. I turned to the waitress and told her that my family was here first and she ignores me! I wanted to leave, but my Mom was craving seafood/crab and plus they were hungry so i just dealt with it. When we got there it was noon and apparently they were serving Dim Sum, which is crazy cuz they only have ONE lady pushing a cart with barely anything in it. Everytime we asked for something in the cart they wouldn’t have it. To make matter worst I tried to order from their menu and they tried to tell me that I could not order from it and can only get dim sum. I guess i went kinda beserk after that because the table on my left and right obviously ordered from the menu since i saw steam tilapia and a bunch of stir-fried dishes on their table. I informed my waitress if I could not order from the menu then we would leave because it was obvious other ppl can order from the menu and not us. The manager comes out and she tells me i can order from the menu so i asked her for some crab and she tells me that they do not have any crabs. Seriously, how can they call themselves a seafood restaurant if they do not have crab!!! She tried to tell me they ran out but i can see the crab in her fish tank. This double standard of service was really starting to piss me off. My mom knew i was getting upset and tried to calm me down and insisted she didn’t want any crab, but the whole purpose of going there was to eat crab. By the time we left that restaurant I knew for a fact i would never come back. The service is terrible, down from them not seating us, not getting our fork or bowls we asked for, the soy sauce that never came, the dim sum that ran out(it was gross), the lack of english speaking employees and their obvious double standard for customers that speaks or is Chinese vs. those that are not. This place obviously caters to Chinese ppl. The food isn’t good anyways, the oil they used to fry their food needed to be replaced and they use A LOT of MSG! I can tell because i get migraines from eating it and i left there feeling sick and when i got home i threw up. They do not change the oil in their fryer frequent enough and its obvious they fry their seafood w/the same oil they used to fry their poultry & vegetables! Everything we ordered that was deep fried had a smell of fish to it… so disgusting. Never coming back. If i could speak Chinese i would have let them know how i felt about their service or lack of it!

This review is for their Dim Sum: $ 2 dishes everyday all day until 2. Hands down the best for the price! The mus have dish is the hom bow with bbq pork inside with the glazed bun and dried crumbled egg yolk on top! Just talking about it makes me want to go out and get some!

Our family used to have the worst impression of this place because sitting there gave us a feeling of being trapped in a street gangster meeting(watched too many Chinese movies). Now that they’ve switched owners several times, Yummy finally surprises us with some humbly decent, mostly authentic Chinese food that is very reasonably priced. $ 2 Dimsum everyday for all the different kinds your heart desires. I strongly recommend the shrimp dumpling. Dinner/lunch dishes – and I don’t mean the ones on the American menu – aren’t bad too, though still rank lower on my list than a few other Chinese places within the area(e.g. hk café). I personally think they’re on the greasy side, often soaked in cooking oil… oh well who cares! Try their FRIEDOYSTERS! Best in town! The place is relatively small so it may pack up easily on weekends. Service is usually good. The owner and one of the waitresses are always patient with our requests – what a profound change from my previous nightmarish impression of this eatery!

I have eaten at ALOT of different Dim Sum restaurants. This is by far my the best Dim Sum place EVER! The dimsum is always made fresh, since its a smaller restaurants they tend to have to make by the order sometimes. Which is perfectly okay with me. The price is very affordable, I believe its $ 2.00 for every type of dim sum dishes. Not only do they have dim sum, they have traditional chinese food. Dry Beef Chow Fun, Deep Fried Salted Squid, Chinese Beef Stew, and Chinese Broccoli. The employees are very friendly and are not pushy. Everytime we go out for dim sum we come here all the time. I will recommend this to EVERYONE!

This place is alright. It has changed owners a handful of times so it seems like every few months there’s another«Grand Opening». The place is nice, it looks nice but the food is adequate at best. The Budda’s vegetable was really flavorless and the tofu that came in the dishes were not very good. We had two dishes that had tofu and the tofu in both dishes were sour, which means they are close or at spoilage. While it wasn’t super sour the tofu was just getting close to it. Parking is a pain, it’s a small parking lot. Your better off, and the only choice to park around the neighborhood. The service was good but the place can get really crowded easily.

I absolutely love this Chinese restaurant. I ordered from here about two times a week. When they closed I was devastated. Happy to hear they have reopened, a bit nervous about the new management. Best Chinese I’ve found in portland thus far.

For some of you who have given Yummy a negative review, please note it is under new management and to me it is the best Chinese restaurant Portland has to offer but do not expect dim sum. I found the service to be exceptional all times I have been there by myself or with a group. The menu selection is enormous and they should have picked a name other than one that pigeon-holes it as a seafood restaurant. Yummy caters to those who crave fresh seafood, beef, pork chicken and to vegetarians as well. The food to me is authentic and as one who is sensitive to food additives such as msg and all preservatives, it is about the only Chinese restaurant I eat at the I don’t suffer from allergic reactions. The parking may be limited but it is worth parking on the side street and a short stroll to some of the best Chinese food Portland offers. The portions are generous and the meat and vegetables extremely fresh. You can’t go wrong with any selection from the menu. I love the ginger beef, which leaves no question that ginger is a major ingredient, what can I say, I LIKE ginger. Beef or chicken with bitter melon are my favorites as well as authentic Mongolian beef which unlike many local restaurants that add all sorts of veggies so they can short you on the beef Yummy provides a lot of beef and spice, so you may want to order it mild if you are sensitive to spicy hot dishes. I usually do not start my meals with soup but I have found that their egg flower soup to be the best, with true chicken broth flavor and an assortment of fresh vegetables including sliced snow peas which to me is unique to Yummy. Lily is right, they serve the best Walnut shrimp. Anything deep fried is extra crispy and well drained including the fried tofu. Chow fun is great but the pan fried egg noodles can be a little too crispy at times. One thing I find exceptional is that the place is very clean, no cobwebs, no dust on the window sills and when I have been there have seen staff cleaning the restrooms often and even mopping the already clean floors in the hall way. When I have peeked in the kitchen, the stainless steel shines and there is no food pieces on the kitchen floor unlike many other restaurants I have eaten. Try it, you will not be disappointed. While in this economy many restaurants that were at one time exceptional are sacrificing quality and portions Yummy Seafood still maintains superb, service, portions and very tasty food.

Saw the ad in the paper and dropped by because the lobster dish costed only $ 15.95 a piece. We were happy how it was prepared, very delicious and good value. The other dishes were fine also including peavine, taro hot pot, and a chicken dish, the daily soup was served in a clay pot but a little thin(diluted). Above average overall. Worth to recommend to friends.

I will not recommend this place to my family or friends. I had the house special chow fun, the crab with scallion and ginger, and steamed seabass in their special soy sauce. House special chow fun: very thin egg noodles that was stir-fried with some bbq pork, vegetables, and shrimp. Happy Panda Express taste better than this place. Crab with scallion and ginger: The sauce is very slimy and they put way too much MSG in the sauce. The crab was tiny. Steamed seabass: It was not the entire seabass; they chopped the fish into two pieces. Steam the two pieces and just drizzle with the sauce. How can u go wrong with steam fish… It was AWFUL… I got good allergic reaction to that fish. AND I eat sashimi with no problem. The fish was steamed not all the way cooked and when you use the chopstick to pick up a piece of the fish, it falls apart. Service is very slow here but friendly.

Not so Yummy Yummy in my belly. I stopped by Yummy Yummy Seafood to pick up some take-out during my lunch break for my boyfriend and me. The lady who took my order insisted in speaking Chinese with me, when I am not Chinese. And she wasn’t all that nice. My take-out orders of the two lunch specials ended up taking about half an hour just to come out. The beef vegetable stir-fry was super gingery. And the pork spare ribs were deep fried in A LOT of oil :(However, the Bok Choy as a side was pretty good. + Parking was small and tight.

I got raved reviews from friends, but it turned out to be decent. Perhaps the high expectation and low result did it in. The friend beancurd was very salty but decent. I did not have much to say, since the food was mediocre. Perhaps, I should bring my friend who raved about it and let them order, because the food I requested fell short. The service staff seemed more fixated on the television then servicing me. Maybe the lunch crowd took all their strength.

Yummy Yummy is newer and brighter than most Chinese restaurants in Portland. The food tasted clean and fresh; Yes, we’re still in Portland. I recommend Yummy Yummy for those special occasions or when you’re eating on someone else’s budget.

I’m on the hunt for good chinese like everyone else here in Portland and let’s just say this ain’t it. They’re friendly enough and it seems they want to buck a trend for divey chinese takeout by putting emphasis on the surroundings… there was lots of slate, attentive service, and what seemed to be designer chopsticks. unfortunately, the only thing lacking was the food. It was edible but nothing special and at these prices not someplace you’d want to visit for your friday night takeout. did i mention the ginormous beautifully bound menu? I had the salt/pep shrimp, chow fun, and a beef dish i can’t even remember the name of. On a plus note, there was plenty of food to take home… if you wanted to eat it.

This place has been open for only a couple of months now… and a group of us from work decided to head over for lunch the other day based on a recommendation. We were the only white people there, which is always a good sign, followed by the other good sign of having the specials list in ONLY Chinese… There were also a lot of dishes that we hadn’t really ever heard of. We just took some suggestions from our waitress, and for the most part we were pretty happy. Favorite dishes: Roasted duck Seafood chow mein Pepper and salt calamari We had the beef lo mein too, and it was just okay as the beef was a little tough and there wasn’t much flavor on the noodles. We also checked out the sweet and sour soup — which was just good, but not the best that I have had. The 5 of us ate 4 plates, plus the soup for a total of $ 10 each including tip. Even though our socks were not blown off, $ 10/person(family style) for a solid Chinese restaurant in Portland is a pretty cool deal.
